Thanks for the videos. I'm working my way through hoping to learn how to deal with runout on my DP-220.

Great video! I’m restoring a 40’s era DP220 now and this is super helpful. Did you make a video on the new bearing hacks you mentioned? Can’t seem to find it…

These videos are great. Thanks so much for making them. What bearings should I purchase for the same DP220? Will you be releasing another video showing how to install new bearings?

The important aspect (like your tool) is to put equal pressure on both sides. I used medium size diagonal-pliers to do this. HTH

Hey Adam. Have a question. I’m in the middle of doing a restoration on my 1933 Delta Triple Duty Drill Press. I thought I was gonna take the bearings out of my quill tonight but I’ve run into an issue. My quill doesn’t have those bearing retainer rings like on yours in this video. I’ve also seen them on another DP 220 drill press restoration video.
I went back and referenced the Delta schematic for the drill press and those bearing retainer rings aren’t in it. Any idea how I can take them out without damaging the bearings? I can provide pictures if you want them. Thanks in advance and really appreciate these videos you made. They’re great and can’t say enough how appreciative I am you took the time to make these. Well done.
    Matt

Adam, a new subscriber here. Did you ever do the follow up video about the bearings and installing them? Thanks.

what bearing do you order to modifty in order to have the indexing slots. . also any tricks or part number for the pulley bearing nd90188,. The pulley bearing appears to be a spindel bearing. wish it was a pressed on bearing. We could use a whole video on bearing mods . The oem New Departure bearing are expensive. and there had to be a cross ref for all of them that is at least close.

I will be doing this very soon, the index tanks are mostly to insure the inner part of the bearing spins instead of possibly moving the whole bearing as there only held in by the screw plates. One way I will show is to simply put a few drops of locktite on the outside of the bearings. Iv ran one like that for many years and absolutely no issues. My parts for my bearing mod should be in soon and I’ll show that as well I’ll check that nd90188 out

Hello, I found your video just as I'm starting a restoration on my 1937 Delta drill press. I love the HF grinder tool hack for taking out the bearing retainer ring. I don't have said grinder, so I don't have the tool. But I see on the HF website, that they sell an adjustable pin spanner tool for angle grinders. Fits grinder hubs from 3/8 in. to 1-1/16 in. If I could ask, What is the distance between the pins on your pin spanner tool? I want to be sure this adjustable pin spanner will work for me. Thanks!
