    Most underrated you
    tube channel in devOps community.
    Kudos to his consistency 👏.
    Every course is free from Abhishek.
    He is not like others who first create community with free videos and then start paid courses.

    Couple of corrections -
    9:33 - 1) It is not only for DevOps team. JIRA is a general concept with a general process with all the teams. 2) The team doesn't have any say in setting priority of the stories/issues/bugs. Only the scrum master in collaboration with the product owner sets the priority.
    26:30 - 1) Though it is right that theoretically the story points are meant to be in order of a Fibonacci series, practically all the integers are acceptable as story points. 2) Story points do not necessarily indicate the complexity of a story/task. It is a measure of the effort needed to complete the story. Scrum masters decides how much of effort (typically in person-day(PD), meaning 1 resource working for 1 working day) maps to 1 story point. For eg, 1 story point = 1 PD, or 1 story point = 1.5 PD etc. Based on this, the developer accesses how much of effort (in PD) he/she needs to complete the story, divides the effort with the denominator of story point unit and comes up with the story point for the story.

    Great session and very informative Abhishek for bringing in experts in JIRA and Project management. Very helpful video for freshers. Thank you for all the hard work.
    I have 11 years of experience in IT. I came back here to revisit JIRA deployment from DevOps perspective.
    however, I learnt (revisited) about Project management, Jira tool and confluence and revisit about Project, Backlog, Backlog refinement ceremony [ Backlog grooming of User story], Sprint planning ceremony [assigning US with Estimated points, capacity planning], Reports, Sprint. Great learning experience.

    So basically, we are taking issues based on Complexity, not Priority!
    As discussed here, like we are taking 25 points in a Spring! and all the stories have a Fibonacci number up to 13(generally), so we can take stories like 13 + 8 +3 +1 = 25. Here will we consider any high-priority stories or only complexity matters?

    I guess story points is something which represents number of days/hours or it is estimation of the time that we are going to take to complete the task and priority of the task can be monitored by other options in jira where you can assign it as high normal critical.

    • @AbhishekVeeramalla
      @AbhishekVeeramalla  ปีที่แล้ว

      In general, story points represents the complexity of the story in some companies teams might use story points in terms of time/days but it is a wrong practice
