1:44 is actually the start of Jitterbug Waltz. They play the melody twice and the improvisations really begin with the solo section, at around 2:32. Thanks for sharing the video though. I love Gansch's playing!

Their instruments were all designed by the Lead Trumpeter Thomas Gansch, He designed them to be Traditional but wanted them to easy to play during fast shredding, that is why most of the instruments you see are rotary valved. the company that produces them is Schargel in Austria. The "Big Thingy" is Actually a Bass Trumpet.

+Adam Myers heres a few corrections ;) first, the killerqueen and the ganschhorn (his trumpet and flugelhorn) were designed by thomas gansch. The manufacturer is "Schagerl" Roman Rindberger plays on a perinet trumpet, designed by himself also made by schagerl. Leonhard Paul plays a basstrumpet based on his design and zoltan kiss plays a trombone by his design. All other instruments Mnozil brass uses are Schagerl instruments except Wilfrieds Tuba, thats a Melton. And well, the rotary valves are rather common especially here in austria ;)
      Best regards

    Two absolute masters at work!
Two of my absolute heros at work.
There are 5 more and they also happen to be in Mnozil Brass.
And here's me a confounded sax player!
    Just love ' em!
Not many musos have such a sound footing in straight, disciplined classical and carry with them, that astounding discipline into self-expressive, swinging jazz.
Leider, Spreche Ich nuer venig Deutche. Was hat "Steyriche" zu bedeuten.
    Alles gut von Olde Englande,

      Schön Danke Lukas.
Is 'Steyrische" Hoch Deutsch or perhaps Yiddisch?
However I can't find its actual meaning...
Ich bedanke mich sehr. Sehr Geeherter Lukas.

      Lukas Griessenberger Aha.
Found it it! A Bundesland in South East Osterreich.
      2nd largest in Austria.
      The Duchy of Styria...(Slovenia)
In earlier times, it probably was a country with its own sovereignty. Yes/No?

Steyrische is old german, nower days it is calt "steirische". Steyr ist the name of an old City in Austria an also the name giver for Styria, in English and Latin you can see it best.

Indeed. Leonhard Paul doubles on trombone and bass trumpet. This was shot a while ago so he's playing a production rotary bass trumpet. The instrument he plays now is a prototype in B Flat by Schagerl. mnozilbrass.at/en/band/leonhard-paul/
