I don’t really get it. Why is something like pot of greed banned, when during the first duel, that guys hand stayed pretty much full and he summoned more monsters than I could count? What’s him gaining two more cards actually gonna change lmao, he can already probably summon ANY card he wants during his first turn alone. Just thoughts from a newbie, someone who’s played for 10 years can probably explain how it’s 'technically balanced' but I don’t think I’ll ever understand it, nor do I want to lmao
There should be catagories or divisions where linking or pendulum decks were in there own catagories or pendulums, so when you queued for rank you could choose 1 and that's all that div, or catagory allowed. Cause yo it is not fun running old school shit against the new shit.
Maybe something like Pokemon Showdown? Where decks are basically divided into tiers? So something like Drayton/Heralds would be OU/Ubers, while Toons would be something like RU or NU in Pokemon terms. That way you can just compete with people using decks of similar levels, rather than get smoked every time you have the gall to try and run something that's not top tier meta because you want to use decks you actually like. Though, with Pokemon they decide what tier you have to play in based on the most high tier Pokemon in your team. I'm not too sure how you can make that work in Yugioh though, where the "OP-ness" of your deck doesn't depend on just one or two cards, but on what it does as a whole.
Bro I swear, I can't last 5 minutes in ranked without using a broken deck. You see, I like using classic decks, mine is centered around dark magicians and mgaic. But I go up againsts someone who by using link nonsense gets a full field after turn 1, it makes 0 sense, that shit is not "Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters" that shit is anime girls in mecha suits one shotting my entire lp bar.

Yugioh master duel. Just came out this week on all platforms except for mobile i believe.

I usually duel my friends with my non meta decks.... ranked it's way too hard to find some non-meta decks to actually have fun
Use meta decks to climb ranked if you want fun duels you can open up duel rooms and a bunch of people are dueling each other with a bunch of fun decks
