SCOTTISH POWER MADE ME FEEL SUICIDAL

  • The experiences of dealing with Scottish Power and what they said to me made me feel suicidal, depressed, anxiety, and more.
    They kept phoning me every day including Saturday and Sunday, if they wasn't phoning me they was sending me emails and text messages.
    All this amounts to harassment and making me feel like ending my life.
    I had to go to the doctors because the way it had affected me and making me feel the above.
    Scottish Power in my eyes is absolutely atrocious despicable greedy money orientated business and makes people like me stressed beyond words, and suicidal.
    As soon as I am able I will find another energy supplier that cares about customers and not harassment and absolutely atrocious customer service, but management and bears responsibility.

    Went with out electricity for two year's now homeless in a tent lost a weill paying job four years ago.i still hopeful I can turn this around but times I get despondent.

    I also had a bad experience with Scottish power, my bills were never right. When I phoned Scottish Power I was given excuse after excuse. It was a dreadful company.

      Sorry to here you had a similar experience, as soon as I have paid them their money I will gone but will be doing some research into energy companies with good to outstanding customer services,
      I will leave Scottish power never to return.

    I had the same experience Scottish Power, they are diabolical! I had to get my local MP involved and had to write to the ombudsman, I was pushed to the edge, was left without electricity at times because of their incompetence! I am so sorry you had to go through this, wishing you the best

    I also had a dreadful experience with Scottish Power. I wasted such a lot of time trying to sort my bills out, passed from pillar to post.
    I also know of somebody who was sued by Scottish Power and they were not even a customer

    I’ve got a problem with e e. 2 year contract for me and my daughter . 2 year contract . Two new phone s. Unlimited phone calls and internet. 130 a month. After month it went up another 20 a month to 150. After 14 months another 15 pound a month to 165 a month. I cancelled my direct debit. Greedy bastards . The public have t to say no more.

    british gas got me into a lot of financial stress. turns out they 'guestimated' my bill and the bill was unclear that they did that. I was lucky to run into utility warehouse house and bills a bit better. I felt suicidal as well. I remember only paying 65 a month for electricity british gas 250 a month, no way. I now stay in one room, got an air fryer, use flasks for tea nd water, use an electric throw, don't use the oven. Hardly using the heating at all unless when it is freezing. I bought a camping stove to use outside just in case. Bills down but nowhere near 100 a month. I am now with Utility warehouse, bills bunged together. customer service generally quote good

    If you want a challenge try Octopus Energy for a while I think they would give Scottish Power a run for their money on making customers feel suicidal in my opinion and experience with them the last 3 years.

    My sister moved, informed Scottish power and the final bill settled. A year doen the line she was contacted by a debt agency saying she owed hundreds to Scottish Power, after contacting the company she found out it was energy used after she'd moved! This was 18 months ago and they STILL won't resolve this!

      Raise a 'written' complaint. Don't bother talking to them on the phone. Get proof of postage and keep a copy of your letter. If it is not fixed in eight weeks, escalate it to the energy ombudsmen. Also, check out the rules for back billing. Without knowing the precise details of your case, it sounds like the energy company is trying it on.

    First off, sorry to hear your story mate. Secondly, SAY NO TO SMART METERS. Finally, no matter how hard it may be, pay any outstanding bills A S A P and move over to OCTOPUS Energy providers for both gas & electric (dual).
    I was with Scottish Power (Gas) and EDF (Electric) after paying up and then switching over to Octopus my bills almost halved from £560 per month collectively, to just over £300 pm.
    Still a large bill every month, but at least I wasn't getting completely fleeced, especially by Scottish Power.a vile company to deal with.

    I have had similar experiences with EON and SSE over switching and a faulty smart meter in a rented flat. Thankfully my bills were not too high. Still a nightmare to deal with.

      Because of all the bad press these companies have got off me and others they will change they customer service attitude and about time too.
      I refused to have a smart meter and they cannot make you have one either.
      Now when SP phone me they have started to ask how I am, I wonder why?

      Check out my reply at the top of the comments. Without knowing the details of your case, this sounds like it needs someone to look at it for you. You may owe the money but equally, you may not. Either way, you definitely need some help with this. DO NOT ignore them. Dispute the 'debt', because all the while the 'debt' is in dispute, the energy company cannot take action against you. If they do, they will have to explain that to a court and it won't go well for them.

      I said to Scottish power that when I have paid off my arrears I will be finding another supplier and I never stay or come back to them and would never recommend them to anyone.
      What I find funny they keep offering contracts, they just don't get it.
      They are the most despicable company I have ever dealt with in my entire life.
      They are not even owned by Scotland and it's just a name, do some research and follow the money, you will be surprised who owns energy companies utility companies.
      Also making huge profits out of us, all because of stupid governments selling them off which was public owned by the tax payers, now if that's not a criminal act of fraud?

    Perhaps you should become a customer of Scottish power then you might understand how they make a person feel.
    Obviously you have not had the pleasure, and the mental stress they give customers, But instead of being rude and unsympathetic try to help yourself by doing some research about Scottish power being investigated by the BBC and perhaps then you might understand this companies tactic of bulling, harassment, poorly trained staff, no training for dealing with customers that have been made to feel suicidal, depressed, anxiety, heart palpitation, lack of sleep, stressed, and this company only cares about the money not you or me just money.
    I suggest before making rubbish comments like you have, instead politely asked would you please like to explain to me (meaning you) with some facts.
    I would have been happy to explain this, but also perhaps doing the research will help you understand more about why this company has such a poor track record of customer service.

      @@GOTOHOBBIES in my eighty years on this earth I've had innumerable conflicts with utility providers, airlines, rental car providers and banks. These have been resolved some have taken much longer than others however I learnt many decades ago that worry and stress will not achieve anything. You appear to have permitted yourself to become depressed over the problem and this prevents one from thinking and acting rationally. I was once down toy last 20c couldn't afford even a bottle of milk. I sat down and thinking about the future not the past I came up with a money making idea which put me back on a good financial footing in a very short time. I now travel the world almost annually.

      My friends are real hard core..not paid these companies for about 7 years
