The entire Torah speaks about sacrificing for the atonement of sin. Moses required every Hebrew to slay a lamb without blemish or their doorpost so that death would pass over them. The slaying of animals were many times sacrifices for sin but also a way to worship God. Even Abraham was asked to sacrifice his on son until God stopped his telling him that He had a substitute. Jesus says the entire Torah is about Him.
It is completely possible to built entire religion based on human potential to absolute peace. For example for buddhism and taoism the possobility of enlightenment is far more important.
.. So.. Who made God? The real question is why is there something rather than nothing, and how did complexity arise. Both of these questions are well answered in science and philosophy
Even if there was a "being" as you say that created the Universe, what makes anyone think it was createdf by a "human man" diety!!?? What if was a Dinosaur daiety or a bacteria diety, or an alien diety??
@cloverfield911 I don't think of such a being, assuming one exists, as a physical entity since that would be begging the question of where matter came from. And definitely not a human being.
It's not about whether or not a God exists... It's about the immoral principles Christianity teaches and the way it makes believers behave.... Which reveals more about the belief than any Christian will ever be willing to admit.
Christianity teaches to die to self and live and help all those around you. This leads to love in society. Atheism teaches selfishness, natural man. This leads to hate in society. Atheism sir is very dangerous to society, not Christianity.
A pastor in the 1970s said that original sin is the only empirically provable Christian doctrine, just check out any news paper. I once saw a DVD entitled "Seven Reasons Jesus Had to Die" and I chuckled. The lady selling it asked me what was funny. I said, "I can think of more than that in just my life." I have lived a mostly boring life and have never killed anyone. I have had sex with women I was not married to on three occasions in 74 years. I have not put God first in every decision in my life. I am not good enough to spend eternity in the presence of a perfect God aside from the washing of Jesus blood. It is axiomatic that no one is perfect and to go to heaven one must be perfect and the only way is to be washed in Jesus blood.
Yes! and natural man is selfish. Selfishness leads to hate. Hate leads to wars and makind's destruction. Atheism is natural man and it's an excuse to be selfish by many lying that it's good. Well said. User ID
Why you need to be perfect to go to heaven in the first place? Without quoting the scripture. For God our earth is the same as Heaven just a place. And somehow he manages to keep as here.
Dawkins is trying to argue man is not born in sin? Easy to prove him wrong. Atheists, aka natural man, or in olden times, faithless man just loves himself. Selfishness, which Jesus demands we die to, is IN ALL OF US. Everyone wants to taste good food, sleep in comfortable beds preferably with attractive mates, have lots of lavish care givers... This greed and ALL MEN AND WOMEN HAVE IT. Some may still want to help others due to society and their make up, but when they see others being selfish and not helping, mankind tends to get very upset at this injustice... It becomes a race to the bottom of selfishness and hate when people see others as selfish, greedy and not helping others. #1 Natural man is selfish #2 Selfishness results in hate. #3 Hate results in wars. Dawkins at least wasn't using logical fallacies and dirty tricks, but yeah, Dawkins is a huckster out to get $$$. Atheists are easier to fool than Christians.

@@thinkingtheology Personally I don't believe in any diety anymore.
