Let me play the devil advocate since all the comments are for the illegal trade of gold we have the same problem in sudan where the militias/current dictatorship are in the charge of the gold mining industry while instead it should go through the finance ministry because any export should be done via this ministry so that the profit can benefit the citizen of country providing much needed welfare, construction etc..

This is completely false. In Sudan you can go mine & search for gold. Nobody will stop you. You only need a special export permit if you want to export your gold. But you can always sell it locally, for a similar price to global price.
