Funny to see you so excited over that hood, Diesel Intercooled 3rd Gen Hilux Surfs (JDM 4Runners) all have this scoop, and it’s goes somewhere, to a top mount intercooler, lol, not just a dummy one. Plenty of them in UK, Oz, and rest of world. 😀👍
I plan on making this functional.... I know a guy with a TRD supercharger who is willing to part with it..... for the right price.... to the right person ;)

I have an older Dodge Caravan that I use for a travel camper, and I love rooting around my local salvage yards seeing what offbeat goodies I can find. My big dream is one of those RV-style pull-out awnings that's been custom-fitted for a Caravan, or maybe some nice rooftop solar panels, but no luck so far. The search goes on...

Hey Faye, awesome scoring that hood that’s like the best feeling in the world I found a sliding back window for my 85 Toyota truck I still think about that every now and again and it still makes me happy and that was like 20 years ago🙂 cool supra counter mat I was in the dealer and they were replacing their counter mats and I asked if I could have the old ones and I got them I’ve had them for probably 20 years as well there’s some of my prized garage aadornments that I will never part with . Got the motor trend app up and running can’t wait to see the new show I was a big fan of Myth busters I hope it was as much fun for you as it looks like anyways so glad you’re back and will see you in the next one have a good night🐔🐔🐔👍

HI, Just got a another 3rd gen 4Runner with 150k cheap. Changed all fluid and all runs well. Only one fix noticed is the front transfer case output seal.

Great video, I have a 2001 4Runner that came with a hood scoop from the factory. Since the scoop it’s self is made of fiberglass or plastic and the hood is metal the clear coat is coming off the scoop, I’m trying to remove the scoop. I’ve removed the 4 nuts from the bolts but the scoop will not come out. What the heck is preventing it to be removed, is there something else holding the scoop, don’t want to break it or tweet the hood, thanks for your help!
I just scored a sport hood for ole ruby after a long time looking. I got it without the insert and I must say I really appreciate the info and parts list to finish off the hood with all factory parts. Thanks a million🫶🏼

Oh gosh, I have quite the collection of bolts I've saved from over the years! I think I got these from a kit on Amazon though actually!! Really any small shirt bolt will do, are you going to rivnut?
Just used to the parts lists to buy the hood scoop and hardware. I don’t want to use rivets and wanted to use screws like you. What size screws did you use?

My Dailey here in Canada is a 12 Tacoma TRD double cab so i agree hood scoops look good . Ok you showed how to replace the hood scoop but someone please tell my how to remove it. Removed the 4 nuts underneath and it will not come out, WTH is holding in place. Don’t want to pry on it, it moves around a small amount but won’t lift out. Clear coat is pealing on it and want to paint, and no I’m not going to mask it off and paint it, truck is a 2001 with a $100 K on it!

Did you find an oem hood or buy an aftermarket one? If so, from where?
@@anthonygonzalez9422 I found it on ebay. The only thing is that you have to pick it up in person and it's in LA in Commerce in the industrial area.
Good find that hood, in Puerto Rico they buy them to cut the scoop part and fit it in other cars like tacomas, samurai and basically anything

It's a leveling bar and I got it from harbor freight!
I just checked their website. I dint see it. Also googled leveling bar and nothing looks like tgat irange meral plate tge chains are hooked into.
Looks like it is called a chain sling. I am not having luck finding the plate without the chain however.
now to slap a turbo and intercooler on the 4runner so you can actually use the scoop!

Ya know,... The rivnuts are a nice hidden surprise that match your gold grill badge.
Any advice on lower control arms? Bushings on mine are bad and was told just buy a complete control arm. But they are not cheap.
