Finally, someone who actually explains how to put pc games on these things. I had 1400 games from atari to gamecube running on my phone but the only pc game I had running was doom through doom eng. Bought a miyoo specifically because I heard it had everything setup for olld pc
Stumbled on this while looking at fun stuff to do with my in-transit Miyoo Mini, and began wondering what ScummVM won't show up on next, lol. I feel like it's pretty much to the Doom meme level at this point. I don't personally think I'd enjoy playing point-and-click adventure games without a proper mouse or at least an interface that sort of "snaps" the cursor to possible points of interest (though that does defeat a lot of the exploration of the game, in my opinion). The information in this tutorial, however, is awesome, and I'm sure for those who would enjoy these games in this format, it's definitely helpful. Even knowing I wouldn't actually DO this, I watched the whole video and learned things that I haven't been shown before that may come in handy in other applications, like checking the wiki for the files needed for ScummVM games, and information about the Miyoo's game list xml feature.
Thanks very much for your comment, I appreciate it! SCUMMVM has been improved as of Onion 4.0 and you no longer need to mess with the gamelist. You just need to make the .scummvm files correctly. Check out my Monkey Island Talkie Edition video to see how! After the next major Onion launch I am going to try and do updated guides where needed.
This is excellent thank you. One question though, Scummvm compatibility chart now gives ScummVM ID instead of Game Short Name, such as scumm:comi. Do these work if I put it in the text document in the game's folder?
I got "I have no mouth and I must scream" working pretty well but I noticed that the scene switches before the the last voice line is over so they overlap for a second before the first one ends, also the sound is a bit crackly, are there fixes for either of these?
IT WORKS! I just needed to find a Nverhood.dat file. I don't know if I can provide a link to it, but it's on the ScummVM forum. A post from 2013 has what I needed to make it work.
Nice one!!! The great thing about SCUMMVM is how it reimplements the games rather than emulating them. It really bumps up compatibility and allows more heavy stuff to play!
@@robsondantas7527 Alright so... It does launch, but there's no way to move Manny around, nor remap the controls to make it work. It also seems to run at about 0.1 FPS or so. Ah well, I'm happy it launches at least!
Nice one! I managed to get this working before your video, i couldnt wait. But the tidying up of games list is great! Thanks. Has anyone got a talkie/audio version of Monkey Island 2 working on scummvm? Using classic files from GOG version there is no audio. Cheers
Hi, I’ve managed to get games such as The Dig running on my Miyoo Mini v2 but I’m unable to save any games through the scummvm menu when pressing Start, could it be a file permission problem? I also get the error unable to save appearing when I assume the game is trying to auto save progress. Thanks
An update on my question in case anyone else has this issue: I hit the start button while in a Scummvm game, went to Return to Launcher, then Global Options, change to the paths tab, the hit the Save Path button and go through the directories to set the save path to be /mnt/SDCARD/Saves/CurrentProfile/saves/ScummVM - I’m now able to save game progress through the start button menu. Hope this helps someone with the same issue!
@@smck102617 Thank you so much for this! I had the same issue. I did exactly what you described and voila, I can save my progress in Scummvm. Very useful tip, thank you for this help!
By chance, do you happen to know of a way to use a virtual keyboard for ScummVM on the Miyoo Mini? One of my old favorites, "Gobliiins," doesn't have the option of save states (for some reason) and I can't type in a password without a keyboard, thus leaving me with no other option but to restart the game from the very beginning! Ain't nobody got time for that! XD
@@RetroBreezeYT , we need to ask SCUMMVM libretro core devs to add support for onscreen virtual keyboard like on Android build (for example). Or use a STANDALONE (NOT retroarch libretro core) SCUMMVM app from EXPERT folder! It has virtual keyboard on SELECT button!

miyoogamelist should work for every system. Instead of setting a scummvm file to the section, point to whichever file starts the game. I'll look into a video, but I have a ton on my plate right now!

As alwas great video! Since I couldn't get the Mini to load ScummVM games (4 to 5 different games) I tried Curse of Monkey Island, just so I can replicate every single step of your video to see if it works. Well, it doesn't. I'm on Onion 4.0.3, ScummVM system appears in the 'Games' section and I refreshed the roms list (about a dozen times now), named the folder just the same you did, sitting in /Roms/SCUMMVM, same content... The ScummVM list stays empty. Any idea appreciated. EDIT: Any other system works fine.
anyone know, on the Miyoo Mini, how do I change the default language of a game? Discworld (multi language) starts in French. Within ScummVM options I cannot change this option. Any way to override this?
I began to follow your tutorial for the game list for my new Miyoo, but it seems that the xmlgamelist edit in the config file for ScummVM is already included in the latest version of Onion as of the time of this comment. Convenient!
