Just a thought with the dress with the back seam. Maybe you could sew a 3/8" seam instead of 5/8" and see if that would help. I loved the jumper and the floral print for the top is beautiful. Loved the vest, too. Looking forward to seeing your new makes!
Love the jumper and vest😊. You did a great job. I made pullover jumper out of a deep purple pinwale corduroy in my usual size and it did fit but I didn’t like it so I decided to put a zipper in the back and I like it much better. As for doing something I really need to learn, is buttonholes. I have never learned how! Pretty bad since I have been sewing for more than 50 years😢 l am glad your eye is better. We had quite a bit of snow up here in New York. First real snow in several years, but I don’t mind it too much.
I'm so thankful your vision hasn't gotten worse. I think you're wise to find a doctor that you feel more comfortable communicating with. There are so many personalities in the world, and no one doctor is right for everybody. I'll pray that you find someone that makes you feel like you are both on the same wavelength. I know it must feel wonderful to be able to sew again. I just love that Sagebrush top! Maybe I should break down and try that style of top. I'm a little hesitant about ruffles, but they look great on you! You had a lot more patience taking apart that jumper than I ever would have, Congratulations on getting it to a place that you're happy with. That was a lot of work!
Your vest is gorgeous! Love how you used bias tape on the arms and hem. That gives the vest a nice sleek fit for you. Regret I was the viewer who worried the wide wale corduroy wouldn’t have much drape to it. But, you showed that fabric who was boss! 😊 Your tenacity in refashioning that jumper is commendable. The new design is very flattering. Prayers to you when meeting your new doctor.
Way to save that jumper! It looks really cute on you. I love that floral knit for a t-shirt. I’ve been working on fitting a couple of years and it will stay a priority for this year, also. I do feel like I’ve learned a lot and …maybe…I’ve figured some things out. I don’t have much sewing time, so my progress has been slow, but I’m getting there. Glad to hear your sight has not declined. 🙏 Take care and stay warm! -Deborah
Diann, the vest looks so good and I am glad you were able to save the corduroy jumper. I am looking forward to seeing the green knit dress. I am rejoicing with you that your eyes are no worse. we are sisters in Christ and your concerns are my concerns you are loved, my friend. Diann, I need your prayer as well I will be having surgery soon.
Hi Diann, your jumper and vest are so nice!!! I’m impressed with the reversible vest and the finishing looks great!!! I’m so happy to hear that your eye isn’t worse and it’s doing well enough for you to be able to sew. I was asking God to help you because I understand the joy our making brings us. Not to mention being able to read and drive. I’m also so very happy that you’re going to see another doctor!!!! That’s wonderful!!! Thanks for the winter pics, reminds me of when we lived there. Have a wonderful week ❤️
Diann, your jumper is very nice. I like the fabric for a shirt to go with it. There are enough colors in that fabric that you could wear it with any of them. I am so glad your vision has stabilized somewhat. Will continue with the prayers as will the church. Have a great weekend.
So happy for you that your were able to save the jumper, what allot of work and determination. The fabric for the new t-shirt is so pretty no you will be so happy to wear it. Love the vest, such nice finishing on that. I like your sewing plans for the dress and sweater. Wonderful that your eye is doing fine, don’t push it and rest more! You’re so lucky to get snow which I enjoy. We got a dusting today in Hendersonville that the wind blew away. I guess we need to move higher into the mountains. Great to see you looking so happy. Have a great week!
Hello Diann! Love to see you and your sewing. Soo happy you are going for a second opinion. Yah! On your eyes. Take care of them,, we only have two! lol. I’m having my left knee replaced on April 2. Yes, again thank goodness we only have two. My small concern is,, blood clots. Had one that traveled to both lung’s following my major back surgery. But my knee hurts constantly now. X rays at Wednesdays consult now shows totally bone on bone. Already had my right one replaced five yrs ago. P t l only two of those too. We’ve had cold weather for about a week, bitter cold n lots of snow too. Too much. So many deadly accidents too. But no power outages. Please take care and know I’m thinking of you and also, Happy sewing. Yes, it sure takes our $$ today but such a great hobby. Your cute red top n jumper were so great too.
Hi Diann! That jumper looks great on you! I applaud 👏your persistence with deconstructing the whole thing! That vest is amazing! Glad to hear you are trying a new doctor❤ I will keep sending good thoughts your way❤️~Mary
Hi Diann. I hope you are doing better. Good for you for searching a new provider for your eyes. Hopefully, the new provider will listen to you and work better for you. We didn't get any snow during that cold snap. Our coldest morning was around 11 degrees, but the wind made it feel so much worse. I would rather have the snow. ❄️❄️❄️ I love your jumper and the reversible vest jacket. I had purchased a vest jacket pattern, but it's the wrong size bracket. 🤦♀️ I'm going to try the other size bracket when Joann has another Simplicity sale. Anyway, have a wonderful week. ❤😊
Diann, congratulations on all of your successes! Fitting is a journey. I'm doing the same. I quickly discovered that the weight and type of fabric content all affect the fit. I'm frustrated at times, but persevere. Experiment with different methods of alterations or invent your own. There is more than one way to skin a cat. I love your channel ❤ Bernadette
The vest came out really pretty. The floral fabric will look nice with the jumper. Thankful that your eye is not worse and hopeful you will be more comfortable with the new doctor. ~Nancy
Great to see you Diane. That pinafore looks fantastic now and that floral fabric will be so pretty underneath it. I do love that Sagebrush top on you, so many people have had success with that. The quilted jacket came out so well, it has such a professional look. Glad you are seeing someone else about your eye and it hasn't got any worse 🤞🏼. Thanks so much for your video and have a super weekend ❤🍓 xx
Hi Diane. The crossover dress you are planning to make, i have a couple of suggestions. Why not make the top in a similar type of fabric and only basting the sides to see if the bumps and stuff show up. If they do my second suggestion is to line it with a lighter fabric or try it with a camisole. This should help with fabric clinging. The cami should ideally be in a light cotton. Happy sewing.
Wow! Great job on saving the corduroy jumper. I love it on you. I am happy to hear that you are being proactive about your eye care. I hope the “second opinion” doctor is a better fit for you. Thanks for an enjoyable video and have a good week!
Doesn't it feel good to fix and finish something you had set aside? I finally finished a jacket toile that I had gotten stuck on and a T-shirt that just needed hemming but I had set it aside.
I love the fabric for the long sleeve shirt
Everything looks so nice 🧵🪡
I enjoy your vlog, and your positive energy!
wow, so cool both ways. Nice vest,Thanks for sharing some snow 😊. Thanks for the report. God is good.

So thankful for your eye doing well. God is amazing!
The jumper outfit looks great, the inset on the hem just looks like a design detail. Great save.
It is such a great feeling to have older projects finished! And a beautiful job too :)

Your jumper is adorable. The reversible vest is great, too.
I love your waistcoat, super job. The pinafore goes really well with the knit fabric. Look forward to seeing the whole outfit.

I'm glad that you're going to work on fitting. That is something that I have problems with too. Good luck with your new eye doctor.

A true turtleneck or mock turtleneck would look great with the jumper.
Hi Diann! I love your top, and I absolutely love your reversible vest!!!
Love all your makes! I would suggest the Harper Cardigan which is a free pattern by Sinclair Patterns. I have made a few of them in different lengths.
Glad your eye is ok.
Wow! Great job on saving the corduroy jumper. I love it on you. I am happy to hear that you are being proactive about your eye care. I hope the “second opinion” doctor is a better fit for you. Thanks for an enjoyable video and have a good week!
