If anyone ever reads this and needs help with mushroom 7 I’ll try to help with this comment The timing is extremely precise and it’s probably near frame perfect for the jumps and reflects. Kh2 does have a buffer system though which means that if you press a button a few frames before you’re actionable you’ll perform the action as soon as possible. Because of this, try to time your jumps right before you land instead of as you land as that way you’ll get a jump as soon as possible a bit more consistently which really adds up as every frame saved counts. Obviously if the mushroom flies away or hits you, it’s an immediate restart. If you’re having trouble with the mushroom flying away from you as you start up your first reflect, it means you’re jumping too early after you press triangle to begin the duel. I found that to consistently avoid the mushroom flying away I had to wait until the mushroom turned toward me after I pressed triangle and then jump. You might be able to jump a bit sooner (like mid-turn) but I was able to do it by jumping right after it completely turned around. You’ll want to begin the challenge with your back turned to the entryways and your front facing where the little pools of water are. This is because as you jump and reflect the mushroom will run into you and push you towards the entryways rather than the pools of water. You want to avoid the pools of water because the ground there is lower than everywhere else which means that it’ll take longer to land after reflecting which wastes time. On failed attempts I found the fastest way to get mp and drive back was to bring a lot of drive recoveries and ethers or tents. Each attempt takes about 3 bars of drive so if you have less than that just dismiss your drive form, use a drive recovery, and put it back on again so you’ll have 9 bars. If you have more than 3 or 4 bars just use a tent or ether and try again. You’ll need an almost full mp bar for each attempt so even if it’s 75% full just use the tent or ether or you’ll run out of mp in the middle of your next attempt. Keep trying and if you get too frustrated take a break and come back later. I tried for like a half hour and ran out of ethers and drive recoveries. After I bought some more and calmed down I got it my second attempt back.
They give you like 4 of every stat boost pretty naturally in the game, and the game also assumes you'll synth at least one of each. This guy purposefully didn't use any of them but if he had he'd have a much easier time

How do you perform the strat? I don't know any of the deeper mechanics and i'm trying to clear the game 100% on level 1 critical. I really wish it was explained somewhere.
@@asthmeresivolisk3129 I know this is nearly a year late, but in case you don't have an answer yet: after you go into Final Form and start the minigame, you want to jump, start gliding into the mushroom, and then mash the glide button like your life depends on it. try to minimize your time on the ground and jump as low to the ground as you can so you spend as much time possible doing damage by gliding if you want to know the deeper mechanics of why this works: equipping four Full Bloom/Full Bloom+ (3 strength each) and dual wielding Fenrir (7 strength) with either Decisive Pumpkin, Ultima Weapon, or Oblivion (6 strength) will put your strength stat just barely over the damage floor without using stat boosts. Final Form's Auto Assault ability (which is what makes noncombat actions do damage in Final Form) is tied to your strength stat so getting that above the damage floor will boost its damage output a little bit. normally Auto Assault triggers when you start gliding and every half second or so thereafter, but if you mash the glide button while moving you're repeatedly starting a glide and therefore repeatedly triggering Auto Assault significantly faster than you would just by holding down glide

for anyone whos having trouble with mushroom #5 and is only getting the time to about 11 seconds (or if you only have 21 strength with the same load out as him) i found the problem. when you start the game as roxas you get to chose a 1 time buff to strength, defense or magic. if your strength is 21 then you chose defense or magic and the strat in the vid will not work. at that point the only way to do it is to eat your pride and suck a strength up like i did (i dont feel guilty though as i was rushing through this play through and had no idea it was needed for these strats. i just chose defense for the lols)
I chose magic as Roxas at the start of my current playthrough and just managed to get through Mushroom #5. It’s a REALLY intense and difficult mash but it’s doable.
@@daybreakhorizon2513 True, but most people physically lack the ability to button mash that fast (I'm pretty sure I can't). I don't know if 27 str Mushroom 5 is even possible on the 30fps versions. (Without auto-turbo, anyway.)
@@UltimaSpark50 Honestly, I'd agree. It took me at least two hours of mash attempts to finally get it right. Changing the controls to make X the button to mash instead of Square helped, but it was still hard. I'd say most people CAN do it, but it takes persistence and luck.
The mushrooms don’t even look evil, I mean, they look like (based on their general movements and most of them not attacking you) buggers who want to have fun. I never knew they had different sizes and had genders.
I had never seen the glide spam technique. Is that purely a strat for Lv.1 Crit mode? Or can that work for any Lv./difficulty? It looks really effective.
i watched ninten do a lvl 1 jj 100% recently and he came awfully close to s ranking mushroom 10 (port royal) without even having optimal gear. have you tried/succeeded in s ranking that one on level 1? i can't imagine the other 2 will ever be possible to s rank at level 1, but it would be interesting to see it done even for this one
Hey will, Do you have a trick for mushroom number 7 when doing level 1 crit? I'm trying to figure out when to buffer my jump correctly and the lowest time I got is 10:48. I can't seem to figure out when to buffer the jump correctly and when to time reflect since my lowest time ranges from 10:48 to 11 seconds.
It's really just trial and error. I was very close several times as well before I got it the first time. If you got 10 :48 then you're probably on the right track to get it soon.
Am I doing something wrong? Im doing the gluide on the agrabah Mushroom but he won't even drop a bar of HP. I have my final form fully leveled and am repeatedly pressing gluide on the way down. Im also on level one, 21 strength in final form. Playing on PS4 2.5
I'm not far enough for Final Form but (Nor am I even past Beast's Castle 2) but for the Sleeping Mushroom (I think number 5?) do you NEED Final Form? Cause if it's possible with Master Form I can do it with that (Maybe with the circling Thunder tactic if it works?)
It was not possible for a very long time. Someone found that you can use an ability in final form called auto assault that does damage faster in the PS4 version only I believe. Even with this method it has to be perfect and you need the right amount of strength with 4 full blooms and the right keyblade setup. So yes it has to be in final form but it also requires synth grinding and a specific strat
Has anyone else been able to get mushroom 7? I've been at it for hours and the best I can get is 10:60. Can't figure out if I'm buffering something incorrectly or if its almost up to luck. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated.
Demo Phone It took me a while as well. Try to make your jumps as small as possible and press reflect right before you hit the ground. Rage inducing, but I got mine in 9:70
I'm kinda late to the party, but also, you should NOT have Finishing Plus equipped unless you are very precise; otherwise a second Reflega can trigger and slow you down.
I know I ask you alot of questions Mr.WillJV but how did you pull off No. 1? Even after tons of attempts I still have yet to pull it off (for future reference if you do answer,I'm on PS3)
Ah mushroom 8. The raging demon. I use the wisdom form strat and it becomes quite easy actually if you keep spamming X and shooting it at an angle. Since your shots move upwards in wisdom so does the mushroom following the same direction. Before you know it bam 99 hits
@@dabestgamer That's what I thought, but when I tried that myself it didn't work at the ABSOLUTE BEST attempt I got was having the Mushroom's health bar go down half way before immediately healing again
@@SoulFoxie Because your strength stat wasn't high enough. Use Ultima weapon and Fenrir on final form and equip 4 full blooms and your strength stat will be high enough without having to use stat boosts. It's also pretty precise, so you'll likely have to practice a bit before pulling it off.
@@WillJV2 I see,is there any other advice you can give or no? Also I'd like to note I'm doing this on the PS3 version so that might be affecting it. Side note, big fan love your videos, especially the First Person ones (I just finished beating Sepiroth level 1 in the game for my first time)
Yeah, a true Lvl 1 challenge. Stat Boosts cannot be unequipped so they are "illegal". Without them you have to make use of everything you obtained in the game or what you crafted.
You have mash square while gliding into the mushroom. Position yourself on its side after you begin the challenge just like in the video then jump and mash square while holding forward to glide into the mushroom. Try to aim towards the big part of its head so none of the keyblade hits miss. You have to be quick.
4:24 I just realized why your max attack stat is 28 and mine is 27, it's because you chose the Struggle sword (or atleast I'm guessing this is the case, sense there's no other item or method to have higher attack stat). I deeply regret not having chosen the struggle sword now, it's not a huge difference, but I'm trying to do a Kingdom Key Only challenge, so I'm not only 3 points at disadvantage(which with absurd mashing I was hoping I _might_ have had a small chance at making up for), but 4 points.... :[ oh well, might as well call it even and get rid of the Kingdom Key only rule for the final 3 or 4 impossible mushrooms, tho I'll leave that for last sense I still have a few more post-game things I can try complete before calling it.
@@evilman566thanks but for a lvl1critical run you're not supposed to use synth 'strength ups' (or other stats increasment items) because they defeat the point of the challenge. (If you use them you might as well be leveling up) Struggler weapon is one of the only moments in the game you can get a stat boost, and it's obligatory/part of the story/game, so it's alright, but I already chose the magic one(just cus). Still- while i basically gave up on the org13 mushrooms, I might come back to it and break the rule just once to only get 1 strength up and finally 100% the lvl1 save file( Or maybe what's more likely and fun, I'll do another level 1 critical mode run from the ground up and actually choose the struggle weapon that gives you +1 atk. It's been a few month since my first go at it and the challenge was a really fun journey).
@@jeom3808 yeah that’s totally fair, i personally on the play through I’m doing right now, have only been using the ones the game gives you, such as completing synth quests or from chests because I feel those are fair game, there’s only a few in the game and I feel like they don’t make a big enough difference to cause issues, as for the mushrooms, a few of them are genuinely impossible unless you use stat ups on you or your party which really sucks
@@evilman566 It's ok X) I know there are 3 mushrooms used to be impossible before the discovered "final form: glide" trick, and even now they can still suck if you can't mash fast (or your base strength stat is 24 instead of 28, like me :P) and yea- about the rules, whatever you have most fun with, everyone has their own, regardless it still forces you to learn and get better, some people ban more stuff but it's all up to whatever people wanna commit to while still having fun (like with Pokemon nuzlocke challenges). like I mentioned before, I only banned changing my main keyblade(so, it's always kingdom key) and I banned using any items that increase my stats permanently. So far I beat the main game, 8 out of the 12 mushrooms, Sephiroth, 5 (or 6?) out of the 13data bosses, and all abscent silhouette. come to think of it, I didn't beat the paradox cups, (and enough time has passed for me to try beat Lingering Will again, and also that annoying mushroom 7🤔...so I think I'll revisit that save file again, thanks for the inspiration).
In the video I showed that you don’t need them. You have to synth 4 full blooms and use ultima weapon and fenrir on final form in order to do it without boosting.
How do you beat No 5? Like is Fenrir required to do what you do, since it seems impossible without Negative Combo. But i can barely guess what you actually did. I mean a Video is good and all but without explaining what and how you do it it is not as helpful...
If you tap square while hovering and moving forward you can activate auto assault. Combine that with having a lot of strength and you will do a lot of damage, especially on ps4.
@@SS4Inferno Oh yeah, IIRC i stopped because i would have had to have killed LW like a million times for the FB+'s i'll beat him on level 1 one of these days - it's the HP gates i don't have memorized that trip me up - on my level 99 file they come after like 2 combos but i have to actively keep track on level 1 lol

base kh2 is most likely better than half the series still xD
@@Sialem.Kh2 vanilla still better than kh3
So if two are impossible without dtat boosts? Then how is it impossible that you got the gold crown on lvl 1 cm without stat boosts?
WillJV2 So that's why on 2 FM you do half of the damage with that strategy.
sad u didnt use Valor form for the land of dragons shroom like Yachi does, and use 3 4 forms for each. also fire into trinity for mysterious tower
Could you or someone else do a handcam of the toughest shrooms (especially V)
You just wait for the second rc then use it. Once you learn the timing it’s easy. Using final form to jump and attack once gives you enough hits.
stitch is just to cute
How is it possible that you are level 1 if when you start the game with Sora you have to fight with enemies and there you always go up a level?
On crit you start with exp zero ability
Thank you
WillJV2 - Would you better advise to wait until all drive forms are leveled and then attempt to do the Organization XIII mushrooms?
I mean if you plan to level them all anyway for data org then you might as well. It’s not required though
It makes life easier.
Well, other than the mushroom at Mysterious Tower. He's evil incarnate.
Ah mushroom 8. The raging demon. I use the wisdom form strat and it becomes quite easy actually if you keep spamming X and shooting it at an angle. Since your shots move upwards in wisdom so does the mushroom following the same direction. Before you know it bam 99 hits
May I ask what exactly you were doing on Mushroom Number 5? All that seemed to be happening was his health going down and you floating there
He was rapidly mashing Square, which constantly starts and stops Glide.
And in Final Form, the Keyblades attack when starting Glide.
Side note, big fan love your videos, especially the First Person ones (I just finished beating Sepiroth level 1 in the game for my first time)
@@SoulFoxie Yeah, the execution for the strats on the HP-based Mushrooms are kinda strict.
Who the heck would have a head that big?
I hope Yachi Nanase returns some day
By "no stat boosts" do you mean no AP boosts as well?
Yeah, a true Lvl 1 challenge. Stat Boosts cannot be unequipped so they are "illegal". Without them you have to make use of everything you obtained in the game or what you crafted.
Ap boosts are fine for lvl 1 imo
You are supposed to do this Level 1 Critical mode, be sure to turn on Zero XP.
Excuse me while I take notes.
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but can you get the gold crown without stat boosts? unsure if I need an S-Rank to count towards the crown
I got it in the video without them. You will need to certain accessories to pull some of the starts off. I show my setup after the required ones.
If anyone sees this please help me with No.5 I just cant do it (Lvl 1)
You have mash square while gliding into the mushroom. Position yourself on its side after you begin the challenge just like in the video then jump and mash square while holding forward to glide into the mushroom. Try to aim towards the big part of its head so none of the keyblade hits miss. You have to be quick.

...god no combo master for some of these sounds like a ginormous pain in these ass
ME MUERO POR JUGAR ESTE JUEGO ES GENIAL PARA MI
4:24 I just realized why your max attack stat is 28 and mine is 27, it's because you chose the Struggle sword (or atleast I'm guessing this is the case, sense there's no other item or method to have higher attack stat).
I deeply regret not having chosen the struggle sword now, it's not a huge difference, but I'm trying to do a Kingdom Key Only challenge, so I'm not only 3 points at disadvantage(which with absurd mashing I was hoping I _might_ have had a small chance at making up for), but 4 points....
:[
oh well, might as well call it even and get rid of the Kingdom Key only rule for the final 3 or 4 impossible mushrooms, tho I'll leave that for last sense I still have a few more post-game things I can try complete before calling it.
make some strength ups, you can synth those and you'll be alright
@@evilman566thanks but for a lvl1critical run you're not supposed to use synth 'strength ups' (or other stats increasment items) because they defeat the point of the challenge.
(If you use them you might as well be leveling up)
Struggler weapon is one of the only moments in the game you can get a stat boost, and it's obligatory/part of the story/game, so it's alright, but I already chose the magic one(just cus).
@@jeom3808 wait lol ignore my comment about the mushrooms
@@evilman566 It's ok X)
I know there are 3 mushrooms used to be impossible before the discovered "final form: glide" trick, and even now they can still suck if you can't mash fast (or your base strength stat is 24 instead of 28, like me :P)
and yea- about the rules, whatever you have most fun with, everyone has their own, regardless it still forces you to learn and get better, some people ban more stuff but it's all up to whatever people wanna commit to while still having fun (like with Pokemon nuzlocke challenges). like I mentioned before, I only banned changing my main keyblade(so, it's always kingdom key) and I banned using any items that increase my stats permanently.
I call shenanigans on mushroom in Agrabah I can’t do that
やりますねぇ!
Is mushroom V only possible at lv1 with stat boosts? Not for S-rank, but just getting the Tranquility Crystal.
In the video I showed that you don’t need them. You have to synth 4 full blooms and use ultima weapon and fenrir on final form in order to do it without boosting.
@@WillJV2 Ah, it has to be exactly that. I still have a ways to go before I get the Gold Crown haha. Thank you for the reply.
@@WillJV2 Okay, I've been trying for a while. Does the angle you hit him from have to be exact? I'm washing like crazy but I can't do it in time.
Why do you heal when you Are in wisdom form, is there like a special thing for wisdom form when you have no mp?
He has the berserk ability equipped which allows you to combo endlessly without using finishers when magic is on recharge
Gavyn Durdaller that makes sense, I hadn’t played kingdom hearts in so long so I don’t remember
I was actually confused with Mushroom 9 for a second too with him casting 2 magnets before initiating the fight
Goddammit the timing for mushroom seven is super tight.
How do you beat No 5? Like is Fenrir required to do what you do, since it seems impossible without Negative Combo. But i can barely guess what you actually did. I mean a Video is good and all but without explaining what and how you do it it is not as helpful...
I mean I've explained it several times in the comments
@@WillJV2 Why not make an FAQ in the Description or Sticky an FAQ at the Comments? :3 Sorry for asking.
Do you need to choose a certain struggle club at the beginning for this to work? Or does it work regardless?
Strength or magic will help. It's not required though.
The first is the most harddest :( he escapes every hit
how the f*ck can you end the game level one ? (I'm not asking how you use the zero xp skill) but you managed to do this :o

Chris Wolf i mean. You could memorize every move but you gotta do this 4 times in a row. With 5 shroooms
How do you deal with Mushroom No. 9?
berserk charge and horizontal slash
is it possible to complete the organization of mushrooms on difficult difficulty without the critical difficulties bonus abilities?
yea you can do it on proud
Winner’s Proof has good attack and Defence but it cancels experience.
how did you do number 5 ?
If you tap square while hovering and moving forward you can activate auto assault. Combine that with having a lot of strength and you will do a lot of damage, especially on ps4.
lol i only have the original ps2 version with an english patch
ah. so basically i need to farm power boosts? :L
Mushroom 5 is very easy: Final Form + Firaga. For Mushroom 6 its easier to use stich and the limit at the end
So if mushrooms 5,7, and 10 aren’t possible on level 1, then you can get winner’s proof on level 1?
Not possible to S Rank, but you don't need the S Rank for the proof.
