    I wish this kind of R&B was still around. So smooth and just plain beautiful to listen to. We don’t really get this anymore.

      I agree. This kind of r&b was the best. Times have changed and that doesn’t necessarily mean we have to like the new music. We can still listen to these jams that are far superior to what’s out today. But yeah this kind of r&b is on the top of my list.

    For the full Teddy treatment, “Come Go with Me”, “Close the Door”, and “ Turn Off the Lights” because it’s gonna be a “Love TKO”.

    Produced by Gamble and Huff. They were that duo before Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and LA. Reid & Babyface showed up. They were the SOUND OF PHILADELPHIA.

      Gamble & Huff, who came before Babyface & LA Reid, they were the hit makers of that era, on any hit you could see their names. If you have not done Billy Paul yet; “Me & Mrs Jones” another great hits of these songwriters and this track is based on a real story.

    Teddy had a lock on R&B in the late 70s-early 80s, one album after the next with hits. They're all great albums, too. This song is from the 1979 Teddy album, which also featured "Turn off the Lights." My fav album is Life is a Song Worth Singing from 1978 -- "It Don't Hurt Now", "When Somebody Loves You Back", "Close the Door," "Only You." You can go through all of those early albums and play them front to back without skipping.

    Hi Jack! Just wanted to say that you are by farrrrrr my favorite reaction channel! Me and you are both alike with the same music! You instantly know if you’re going to like a song when it first comes on. There’s not too many people doing what you’re doing right now as far as this music thing. Very good ear for music! Music is universal. It’s what brings us together and how we all connect. If we didn’t have music just thing how blah the world would be. I would love to hang out somewhere in a club with you sipping on drinks and just vining out to some good music. 🤗 please continue to make your content and I’ll definitely be here. I miss the car videos too 😉❤️ Thank you 🙏🏼

      Agreed 100%. Sadly, Jack is one of the *FEW* reactors who concentrates heavily on R&B. I don’t knock ppl’s hustle and want them to all to get their bag but some of them look tired/miserable reacting to a lot of songs they can’t even connect with on a basic level.

    Great reaction Jack 👏🏽. If you’re a fan of symphony instrumentation, you have to go down the Barry White a.k.a. The Maestro rabbit hole. It’s Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me, Let The Music Play, Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love Babe, Love’s Theme, Just The Way You Are, Playing Your Game are just a few you should listen to 🔥🔥🔥

    Regarding the message of the song, Teddy was showing how to finesse a woman to go back to his place. Probably to get to know her but lets keep it real, Teddy was trying to get some lovemaking in. Back in those days, it was nothing to go over to a guy's house & chill, today that would get you killed. The difference of the times are like night & day.

    That’s called a Flugelhorn , looks like a big trumpet… it’s really rare and pleasing to hear a young man like yourself paying homage and respect to the old school/real music. Keep up the good work and maybe you’ll effect some of your generation too put down those guns and pick up some buns and have some fun with this kind of music.

    Much respect to Teddy P. Because I feel like without him, there would be no Usher, no Tyrese, etc... As a younger Millennial (and I may be in the minority here) but Christopher Williams tore this song up when he did his rendition at MTV Unplugged! I'll have to watch some performances of Teddy performing this in his prime to compare. Because Chris's version is so fire to me. I always associate this with that performance. Love what you said at the end though Jack, because today's "love" songs are terrible. But it's a reflection of where our society is.

    • @gabrielmcdonnell8699
      @gabrielmcdonnell8699 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like Christopher Williams (saw him open for Stephanie Mills in the 90’s and his voice was just like the record/CD). That said, the singer that reminded me of TP vocally came later. Jaheim. No worries if y’all disagree.✌🏽
