    I'm wealthy and I can afford paying taxes (inluding very high taxes) to live in a functioning country, not a failing state. Don''t listen to people broadcasting about their wealth, yet somehow abstaining from paying taxes. True rich people can afford taxes.

    • @br4975
      @br4975 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Labour guarantee to not increase taxation on the 95% of ordinary people is excellent. The principle of not raising tax on ordinary people and focusing any tax rises on those who can best afford to pay is a great principle after 7 years of the Tories doing things exactly the other way around

      I. REMBER.my.MEDICINE. Well said , I only wish there were more like yourself who can see the sense of fairness in this policy......the alternatives are continuing social unrest and a fractured country. Hats off to you sir.

      You're like my mum and dad. They have wealth but they would never vote for Tories. They hate them and the way they punish the worst off in society. Just because you have money doesn't mean you're devoid of empathy or morals. They're happy to pay more if it means a fairer society without the Tories crippling those with the least (it probably helps that I work for a charity helping people with dementia so I can actually tell them how bad it has got as it is rarely mentioned in the press). My Dad was apoplectic with rage when the dementia tax was announced. Mum doesn't get that angry but she was very upset about no school meals.

      I think many people who pretend they are rich are very much for low tax, because they aren't as wealthy as they claim. Rich people can afford taxes, including very high taxes. Don't let those endevouring social climbing, while abasing others, win this election

    • @rejedef

      I see. Yes, I want to live in a society where I can forget my laptop in a cafe and when I return there next day, it'll be returned to me. I want a society where I can go out and see people thriving, not having to beg. I want a society which is more efficient by investing heavily in people and their talents.

    All I see is an honest and decent man - one of the strongest people i've seen in this election-
    Think about it - he has been attacked relentlessly by the press, the television, by other politicians - and at every stage, the man gets back up
    he's unpolished, he's honest, principled and seems genuinely caring
    More than I can say for May anyway
    - and in my experience, that's as rare as rocking horse teeth in politics.
    He has also surprised everyone by getting to neck and neck in the polls - with the entire establishment on his back -
    I for one would rather have a fighter like that for this country on Brexit, some one like that would be fighting to sort out our NHS, fighting to sort out our Schools and getting on with sorting out proper solutions to problems
    Much rather have someone with that kind of dogged determination than having May who just seems like a typical reactive politician
    reacting when her poll ratings dip, switching the odd little thing around making out its a massive solution when its just a drop in the ocean
    just seems week, she seems prone to cave ins and u-turn under pressure,
    hows that gonna help during brexit negotiations??!
    And don't give me that crap about the magic money tree - read a bit of history
    They have money when its needed for wars, for bank bailouts, etc.. where do you think it comes from - its created at the royal mint, and printed for whenever its needed, its available, and its a choice what its spent on
    The United States did it to get out of their great depression, and they spent it on the people, giving them jobs, sorting out their countries problems and building things with it.
    - this time its Corbyn who's stood up and said, lets do that for a short time
    - lets use the tools of government and the creation of money to invest in sorting it out-
    Investment pays for itself over time - otherwise how else do you think companies grow
    - In this case Labour would be using the money created by the Government not to give to banks- but to give it directly to the people and businesses where it is needed - to grow business, create roads / rail and transport links - kick start the country out of its slump
    There are even Tories who have said they would do this if things got any worse economically in this country - its just a tool in a countries tool belt - they're chucking the 'magic money' tree argument at them as they themselves don't want to do it yet as they're having a great time spending that money on themselves at the top of companies and banks in pay packets and bonus's - talk about a scam
    All corbyn is saying is - why wait, sort it out now before it gets that bad - and we know its not going to get any better with May at the helm of brexit and the bonfire of rights that she intends to force on us all after we leave the EU
    Corbyn is saying - spend this money on sorting the country out now, sort out the things that have been left to rot during austerity - fund them properly
    Its not Rocket Science althought its often portrayed as such to put you off or confuse.
    The Tories are afraid of this man only because it means their mates don't get as much of this money anymore - and remember, they are there to represent them, not you
    Put simply - If you want things to get better - Vote Labour
    - why not drop the daily mail, sun for 10 minutes - and give the guy a chance -
    If he's no good, honestly just vote him out in 4 years, and have the tories back
    Vote for Change - try it - you might like it

    Conservatives look out for the rich, always have, always will. They formed in the old days from the lords of the land, the noblemen, etc. The Labour Party were "labourers", yes, the WORKERS (demanding fair pay, demanding education for all, demanding healthcare for all). All of it resisted by the conservatives at every opportunity.

    And guess what? There IS a 'magic money tree', but the corrupt sociopathic money addicts have been GETTING the national money to enrich themselves - for DECADES. Yes, the UK issues its own currency, which means that it can issue ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY for anything that is physically possible. (That is how you pay for the Royal Family, and no, it is NOT your 'tax money'). Learn how it works - the liars simply DEFUND THINGS intentionally in order to push PRIVATIZE them, because the scam of privatization means they BILL the govt any amount, billing for massive exec salaries and GUARANTEED profits - probably partly why there are so many 'secret' offshore accounts in the past several decades. I believe this website has not just this GREAT article to inform the public, but a weekly radio show as well.

    It has been over half a decade since I became weary with the number of disabled people I knew who had what little life they had stolen from them by this Conservative government. Not on its own, obviously, it had the LibDems in coalition, UKIP as a fake substitute to attack the Labour Party in vehemently anti-Tory areas and swing seats, and worst of all, they have those who campaign and vote for the Conservatives.
    Surely no-one is so oblivious to the world we live in that they don't know they're voting to abuse, torture, and indeed kill, vulnerable disabled people? How shall we look upon people who pretend patriotism when voting Conservative, then vote to attack their disabled compatriots? Verminous fucking filth. Proud of their willful ignorance, when they should have nothing but shame for what they and their corrupt Tory friends have done to this nation.

    People need to look back on Labours record. Blair took us into a war based on lies, and we are paying for this now. Gordon Brown nearly bankrupted the Uk, and gave away our solidarity to the EU. And sold our gold reserves, what do you think this guy is going to do??? all those ideas in his manifesto will cost every tax payer. As for Brexit, there is no way he will get the deal we want, we all know that he will still allow the wrong people in, and still keep us in the single market. And we might just as well not of bothered with the referendum. May called this election knowing that buy the time we are nearly out of the EU, there would of been a general election anyway. So it makes sense to vote for her as she has started the process, and will make sure whatever the deal is, it will be right for all of us.

      This is Corbyn, not Blair - They have absolutely nothing in common. If you'd looked at the manifesto you'd see it has been costed, and there will only be tax increases for the top 5%. The tory manifesto has not been costed. No-one knows the long-term implications of leaving Europe, but the general intelligent opinion is that it wasn't a good idea in the first place. If you're not in the top 10% you will not be better off under the tories, so what the hell are you voting for? Tory voters are either in the top 10% or are deluded. Join the real world.

    • @CarlsVlogs
      @CarlsVlogs 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im voting for government who started the brexit deal and will finish it. Not a government who will rob people of savings, and side with terrorists. Not a government who will raise taxes for everyone not just the rich, he will impose garden taxes. And will reck the economy the Tories are trying to repair after Gordon Brown was in power(the stupid idot!}. May called the Election because buy the time a deal was reached, wich would of been in two or three years time, she would of had of called the election anyway. So it makes sense to vote for May.

    • @ThePaledruid
      @ThePaledruid 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You believe the lies. Taxes will be increased for the obscenely rich, not ordinary wealthy people, or comfortable people or poor people. The 'garden tax' is a total fiction - That policy is for big businesses and corporations, and will have no effect on any home owners.
      Corbyn has talked to terrorists as part of the peace process - he is not in bed with them! But May met with the Saudis 2 months ago, in part to sell them weapons which they then supply to ISIS, which then get used against us! May has decreased police numbers, as Home Secretary, and as PM, which the Police Force has confirmed make us more vulnerable to terrorist attacks, while she says they are scaremongering. Does it look like they are scaremongering??
      The tories have had 7 years to repair the economy, and have done nothing other than make the rich richer, and the poor poorer, and have increased the deficit, not reduced it - 7 years, and nothing; why would it be any different in the future? Tactics like the DWP health assessments have cost far more than has been saved - it is purely a cruel, political exercise - it has achieved nothing other than more suffering for the most vulnerable.
      Economists all around the world have said that the tories have failed, and that Corbyn's model is the only way forward. Socialist countries like Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, New Zealand, etc are the fairest countries in the world, with the most stable economies - We need to follow their lead
      Do some proper reading tonight, not the Daily Mail and all the other media in the tory's pockets, and you will realise how successful Corbyn's ideas are already around the world. Capitalism is a lie - It is modern slavery, with the economy only benefitting a handful of people.
      You have fallen for the tory lie, like many people around the country. If you think things will improve under the tories, you are a fool.

Perhaps the part where tuition fees are would be abolished, or maybe even the part where kids will get free school meals?

    catchy little tune, all those mega rich tossers he was singing about, I hope they included Tony Blair and Mandleson, you know, those ex Labour new multi millionaires and in ten years time after Corbyns wrecked the country and become mega rich he can join the list. You're being conned out of your vote and your swallowing it up hook line and sinker.

    Corbyn is better than May but the party he leads just cannot be trusted. The man;s recently found pro eu slant is worrying too, a bit like SF here.

      He never said he is pro EU. He has agreed to leave EU because the public wants him to do so.

      He's never said it because he's anti-EU. Always has been. Didn't want to go in originally and still doesn't agree with it. He has made some compromises for the sake of the party, which was officially remain campaign, but he is not a fan.

    Sorry but I don't think Corbyn is telling any greater truth than May. They are all cut from the same cloth, Corbyn willbe just as bad as the rest. I think I'll stick with the devil I know, as oppossed to the creep that I don't. Also found his tasteless self congratulation at his recent successes, rather telling. Far too happy with himself, for a man who has yet to actually win anything. Shows he is out of touch.

      Love your well constructed counter arguement, full of nuance, informative and totally swaying me to your point of view.... oh wait, no. Your comment had none of that. It's oddly telling that whenever I've sought some meaningful exchange with those people who trumpet Corbyn and Labours policies and politics, they make vague (or direct) insults on my intelligence, while providing nothing of meaningful substance regarding the object of their fervor and adulation.
      I guess it comes from the echo chamber you all seem to be stuck in, in which you seem incapable or unwilling to even entertain any critism or discourse on the ideas, policies or implications of labours proposed legislation. You've been swallowed by the political machine. How sad.

    • @ThePaledruid

      It wasn't intended to be an insult, just a statement of fact. There's not really much point me being articulate and wasting my brain power on someone who cannot tell the difference between some money grabbing career politician and a genuine, caring human-being; or you just haven't bothered to learn anything about the man, and have made a massive assumption about him. I agree that the majority of MPs are pretty much the same, and very few are in the job because they genuinely want to make a positive difference to peoples lives. I don't trust easily, but with all my powers of judgement I feel very confident in saying that Corbyn is the real deal. I just wish more people could see it.

    • @toffeecrisp2146
      @toffeecrisp2146 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, that atleast is abit better. You continue to dismiss my point of view, out of hand, simply because you disagree with it, assuming it is based on faulty assumptions, in turn making assumptions of your own. So some room for improvement on your part.
      The fact that your *opinion* about Corbyn is a positive one, doesn't make it *truth* it's an opinion, a matter of perspective, subjective and open to interpretation. That reality, that my *opinion* on the matter, is not evidence of my cluelessness, but a difference of opinion, born of a different perspective, seems to elude you. Your judgement of my opinion however, is indicitive of the societal and political attitudes of the day, that is "if you don't see things my way, you're stupid and/or incapable of logical thought" What a wonderful demonstration on your part of the very fucked up attitude that is leading to the ruination of the political system in the UK and the west in general. Your political and moral sense of superiority and intolerance of views and opinions counter to your own is dazzling.
      I don't doubt, that in his own way, Corbyn, is ernst in his beliefs, I posit, that he is completely out of touch, not so much with what people wish for and want, but with intrinsic social and economical realities of the modern world and near future, that he is making promises based upon assumptions about the shape of the near future, that evidence suggests are blatantly wrong, but they sound good and represent a future people *want* as oppossed to the future as it's likely to unfold.
      Take for example, free university education. Sounds wonderful, I would wholeheartidly support it, but the fact is, that with increasing technological automation, an increasingly elderly population and a major fall in new job creation in the global market, there will be few jobs, vocational or otherwise, for these multitudes of degree laden university graduates to go into. Within as little as 20 years, more than 50% of the jobs pool, is likely to be automated.
      Even today, we have young people leaving university with impressive degrees and having to get basic pay jobs in supermarkets, because the job pool is shrinking.
      So what value does this offer really hold? Perhaps is more about appealling to a disenfranchised youth for political power, rather than safeguarding their future employability and prospects of those same young people?
      The guy is out of date, he is playing from a political play book that is mired in the ideological divisions of the past that are soon to become irrelevant. But he can't see that.
