  • It is time to let my PTR-44 go to a new home. So to give it a proper farewell, I am putting up a 2 part series.
In part #2, I tell how I came by this German SSD replica, and then do a side-by-side comparison with a German STG.44 made in 1945.
This is Misha's personal channel. Here he talks about...well really, whatever he wants. So expect stories, opinions, and random reviews on things of interest.
The Mishaco channel, with professional reviews & commentaries from Misha & Jay can be found here:

Misha: "Yeah, this PTR44 is about as close as we're gonna get to a real MP44."
Also Misha: "Hey, guys. Check out my 1945 MP44!"
    Never change, man lol

How many rounds did you put through the PTR? I heard mixed reviews and I guess it's almost all coming down to the mags. Your two cents?

Same. Your best bet is probably a BD44 parts kit _(the SSD product name)_ from DK in Kentucky.
Not sure if you could check in with ATF and ask if SSD‘s rifles can be imported as PTR did in Connecticut 10 years or so ago.
If not, perhaps import the parts as DK does.

Back in the '90s and early '00s guns like AK's and military surplus used to be extremely cheap. Actually up until about 2014 they were still very cheap. Many people who own large collections of AK's and milsurps bought them back when they were cheap.
