You literally just saved me so much frustration! I just bought new concealer for work and it has plenty of good reviews (elf camo 16hr).. but it was the patchiest mess ever! I watched your video and washed it all off, applied a tiny bit of my favorite eye cream and tapped it in, a super lightweight moisturizer on top, and then let it all sit for 20 mins. A very small amount of concealer and lightly tapping it out with my appropriately sized sponge instead of the giant beauty blender and... it's actually flawless . I could cry. Thank you so, SO much for this video!!!
@@parisinthe30sx I recommend you to try " The Ordinarys Coffein" serum (it's taking away all the dark circles & puffines) . And a good eyecream, "Vichy slow age". It is a wonder🧚🏼♀Next month im 38 & i love to see that so many grown girls are taking care of their skin & makeup💜 I wish you a beautiful week & a good health. Best wishes from Elisabeth,Norway ⛷️
Honestly this is one of the best "beauty guru" videos I have watched. Watching all these videos where famous gurus teach different techniques has made it very difficult for me to apply concealer correctly. I thought my under eyes were very dry so I was layering up moisturizer and primer and it was just getting cakier and cakier and I looked 55 years old despite being 29.... this changed my perspective, I quit applying moisturizer before applying makeup and only apply my hydro boost eye gel at night. And I use way way way less product and use my ring finger to blend it well. Life changing, thank you for this video
Kelsey Moncada , sounds exactly like me. I added tons & tons of under eye hydrating products. I have a Smashbox product that’s JUST an under eye hydrating cream. So, I’m going to try all her tips in this video tomorrow & I’m excited to see what happens.
I love watching your videos. Not only do you give choices, high-end to drugstore, on products to use but you explain why the placement, technique, tools & amounts are important. You are a great instructor! Thank you from a 69 yr old who doesn’t want to look like a painted clown! 😊
Thanks so much for the detail of this video... at 54 and on the other side of menopause, my under eyes are extremely dry and I have very dark circles... it’s very useful to learn of the various products and which ones work better for specific problems.... thanks again!
This is the best video I have ever seen when it comes to under eye issues. This has been my trouble spot for several years. I have dryness due to aging, and even the highly rated concealers have caked up and creased. But, with your expertise, you have demonstrated how to moisturize, use corrector, concealer (and powder, if used). It has made a difference, and I really appreciate it. Plus, your beauty inside and out is admirable. Thank you for all you do to enhance our lives.
I have tried so many different ways to keep my concealer from creasing but nothing seemed to work. I tried your various methods as well as others, but no luck. Finally I got it figured out. I mix a little naked skin on the back of my hand with the age rewind and just a tiny dab of coconut oil. I dab it on gently with my finger and it works like a charm! I don't use any powder because that does make it crease on me. Thank you so much for all of your tutorials. I appreciate that you always keep it real!
Can’t believe I’m 62 and just learned you could use more than one under eye concealer. I have very dark circles and was trying so many individual brands but never thought to combine them. Thank you for that wonderful tip!💖
Thank you so much for this post. I’m not very accomplished when it comes to make up and despite watching lots of videos on technique nothing has ever solved the problems I have with under eye concealer. No one that is expect you! Thank you so so much!! I have finally been able to apply and wear my concealer and it not changing as the day goes along. I have oily under eyes and the lightweight moisturiser, appropriate primer, layering techniques and the nighttime under eye moisturiser have all been a game changer for me. Thank you!
This is the BEST video I have ever watched on concealers!! Yes, more please. It really helped that you were close to the camera and I could truly see the way you were applying things. Love watching you!
I needed this tutorial and can't wait to try your brilliant tips! I usually leave my under eye bare because concealer tends to accentuate my lines. This was incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I am very grateful for your knowledge!
Great video! I completely agreed that taking care of undereye AT NIGHT is super important. I'm 57, and I've found that a really good routine with moisturizing helps you avoid having to do (too much) concealing in the AM. Happy New Year everyone!
Thank you, Professor Leary!!! You are consistent in your teaching methods and your verbiage: "prep the area," "thin layers," "tap it out to a second skin," I find myself thinking these very words in my make-up routine. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Omg thank you. I’m 30 and have oily skin but my under eye in pretty normal- dry. I’ve been using very rich concealers and it just creases so bad. I’m going to try these tips and see how it works. Your makeup is so beautiful. I look forward to watching your other videos because your makeup is exactly what I’m look for.
Elle, this is a "much needed " video! I'm 56 and have to be careful not to put too much concealer, but it always gets crapey. I have dry skin. (Always have) I appreciate your wisdom! Tomorrow I will try to do what you did. Love you Elle💃❤❤❤
Wow! So much wonderful information. Thank you so much! I am 60, and have pretty good skin, but always look for ways to NOT make my very fine lines more pronounced. They are just starting to show, so I really appreciated your detailed explanations and instructions. I'm going to save this video to my favourites, but first I'll watch it another 2 or 3 times! New subscriber from Canada!
For anyone wanting an affordable color corrector for your under eyes-Ulta Color Correcting Liquid Concealer in Peach is really great! Very similar to Urban Decay Naked Skin Corrector for less than half the price! 😊
I agree. The Ulta corrector is nice as is the Urban Decay Naked Skin one. I have both and like both. I use the pink corrector(Ulta and Urban Decay both have the pink corrector) for under my eyes(before concealer) rather than the peach one as I have fair skin and feel the pink one does a better job if you have very fair skin with pink undertones. The Ulta one is more matte than the UD corrector. The only negative about the Ulta corrector is that it dries out quickly whereas the UD corrector does not.
@@jjohnson1859 i can still see the dark circles when i do that. I even tried orange but it's too hard to cover and over all looks ends up being too thick for my taste and age.
@Centre Random do the color corrector before foundation and then use the concealer on top of the foundation. Also, try and use a thicker, either concealer, color corrector, and/or even a eye color primer. Example: MAC paint pots in the color you need then apply your foundation and concealer. That will help cover the dark circles
She always calls Nyx N.Y.X. Great video, Elle! Everyone has been asking to address the under eyes, both application wise and with product recommendations that work better under eyes with fine lines, dryness, darkness, etc.
Love the way you use the layers and how even it looks. The only thing is the color under your eyes is reading a bit grey ish. I have olive skin and often that can happen to my skin tone under the eyes. It’s a subtle greying but rather than brighten, it well, greys it! It’s also that the camera is showing it. But the technique is brilliant and you have gorgeous skin.
Thanks, Elle for a great tutorial. I do have trouble with my under eye area with cakey looking areas and with allergies/watery eyes removing my under eye concealer. And yes I do love these instructional videos.
One of the best 101 tutorials I have seen. You belong to the school of her greatness... Lisa Eldridge. Would you consider when you update this in future (as there is always new products) to demo on a model with wrinkles? That would just be Aplus+++ Regards Tassie Joy
Elle, your videos always make me want to run upstairs and try what you have shown! Even when I am in my flannels doing the dishes with nowhere to go! I am definately going to try a lighter hand with my under eye cream pre makeup!
I have purchased SOOO many products and need these videos! Think I should have watched more of your instructional videos FIRST! Appreciate this help so very much! Thank you!
I'm in my 63rd year, I went to have a look at my cosmetics and skin care, I could have nocked down with a feather everything was over 10years old so I have started journey, now everything is new and new ways of doing things Elle Leary is my God I can't watch enough tutorials thankful elle
Fantastic tips 👍🏼 I just found my holy grail routine for my under eyes. I’ve been having problems for many years with creasing and creepy looking under eyes 👀. And I’ve tried everything I could come across 😆. What really works best for me right now is eye cream let it set. Then my holy grail is to tap on a little bit of Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream Eye Roll-On let it set. And then tap over a little bit concealer like Tarte maracuja concealer. I don’t set it with powder. And it looks beautiful all day 🤩😘
...I have been using ' Eye Patches' since.....1999.....the choice of those were limited at the time, and I have to say that " Andrea " made some of the BEST ones, even with all brands I have used. ....I would put these on whilst I did my eye makeup, and then do the remainder of my makeup.... I am in my mid - sixties now and I appreciate all these great tips and sharing all of this, one of the best I have seen. ..Thank you !!!
Forgot to say you are so beautiful, with no makeup on at all! Really all you needed was the colour corrector, and spot of concealer, and you looked perfect! You look like you have natural eyeshadow on, and your checks were pink and flushed just a tiny bit. Even your lips are loaded with colour! Beautiful!
I've always had noticable dark circles under my eyes. No matter what I did, they were still apparent. Hell, I even had my makeup done at a CHANEL counter & even she wasn't able to conceal them. Tbh tho, my makeup looked awful when she did it so not surprised. Lol. Lately tho, I've gotten reenergized for makeup and have been watching lots of videos again. Came across your channel & have already picked up some great tips. (Even my husband is impressed by you!) Lol. I found your tutorials to be so helpful, especially concerning applying concealer. I'm happy to report that my undereyes have been looking better than ever!! ♥️♥️♥️ Tyvm..
Omg, I just followed her steps and it made a HUGE difference!! I’m so relieved. I was putting on way too much corrector and concealer. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for the very useful tips. I've got it all, dryness, discoloration, wrinkles and bags - unfortunately. I think I'll try botox too. I've been putting on a heavy cream thinking that will be best for the dryness then putting on concealer, which of course doesn't work. And also blending it out ever so lightly will help.
This is a great video! I'm 32 and have lines around my eyes naturally not fine lines exactly but eye creases I guess and it's hard to not make it look worse when I put concealer on I'm going to give these tips a go and see if it makes my lines look not so accentuated.
Thank u so much for this tip, I can’t wait to try this tomorrow morning!! I just turned 34 & my under eye is in the dry side...it’s such a challenge. Thank u Elle!!
Janett Ramirez , I always thought my skin was oily so I used anti-oily products... turns out I’m mainly dry. She’s right, the MAIN thing to know is your skin type! But no matter what I do (moisturize or not) my under eyes look SO dry. I think it’s bc I use too much setting powder... but if I don’t use any it creases like crazy! Ugh! Just so frustrating!
Elle!!! This was SO extremely helpful!!! I have horrible deep bags so I tend to apply more concealer to accommodate for the “dips” and it always creases in my lines. I am excited to experiment! I need to go get a corrector right now! Thank you! 😘
I have under eyes like the Sahara, and this video is Gold! The only thing that has worked for me without aging me by 10+ years is the becca color corrector and the julep concealer done with your method. I've been curious about the stretch concealer.....I'll have to try it now! I never use powder under my eyes.....I set them with a beauty sponge sprayed with setting spray. Thanks for all your tips :)
Nice video. I am 65 and have a lot of under-eye and skin issues. The hardest part is analyzing your specific needs or finding someone knowledgeable to help you figure out what you need. I just know I look tired and terrible. Many trips to makeup counters, Ulta etc have been very expensive and not been helpful - They don’t seem to know what they are doing and practice one size fits all. Any suggestions for places to get better help?
Omg. Your the best. I have absolutely learned why my under eye was creasing. I am 78 and very little wrinkles around my eyes. I raise my eyes and up and hold for a few seconds and repeat. I do this a lot and stay out of the sun and use sunglasses. I use eye creams at night So far doing good. I learned I am applying to much. Heavy hand as they used to say. My I cream maybe be to thick for day time. Clinique eye cream there new one. Could you recommend a lighter eye cream. . My wrinkles are at my chin. Going south. I will see if you have a tutorial on that. Thank you explaining so clearly. Judy
This is such a helpful video! I have dark circles under my eyes and I'm usually able to cover them up, but the concealer is always cakey and dry. Thank you so much! This is very helpful.
Just found you ....WOW!!!! you are amazing and truthful and real!!! Good to know that you are a professional and not just a wanna be ...... THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!GOD BLESS!
Thank You so much for this video!!! I struggle so much with concealer application. Everything you said makes sense! I am 42 with dark circles and tiny fine under eye lines, nothing crazy (I try to take good care of my skin) but every time I try to put concealer, my under eyes look older. I believe I was putting too much moisturizer to prep, since (I have normal/dry skin I thought that was the right move) so it sets in the lines and makes me look like the grave keeper Hahaha. I just bought a color corrector but didn’t really know how to properly use it. I really appreciate your advice!
We got this Kari! Haha I did better this morning applying the concealer, but need a lot of practice. I ordered some of those under eyes patches and we will see how they work and if they help.
Thank you!! Wow so glad you did this for us. I've been trying every way possible to make the under eye area not look worse! Much needed video. Being almost 60 it is very discouraging when everything else looks good and then you put concealer on and its terrible! Trying to find way to make it work.
I am having the same problem. I am 60, I have tried everything and watched all kinds of videos and I have yet to find a solution. I just dont wear any because it always looks worse.
Jackie Davis I usually don’t use concealer for the same reason. But, I am experimenting because sometimes I just need it. I just received my Bobbi Brown concealer and I am going to try it. It looked great when I had it put on in Macys.
Jackie Davis Two days in a row and it seemed to look good. It lasted all day and looked just about as good as it did 10 hours earlier when I put it on. I also used the Laura Mercier eye brightening setting powder and really brushed it in as I saw a you tuber do. Fingers crossed.
For anyone with super dry skin around the eye area, under eye and lid all the way to the brow bone, try this. At night after you completed your entire skin care routine, mix a dab of auquaphor and 3 drops of jojoba oil on the back of your hand. Apply it to the entire eye area and let it sit over night. Do this every single night, even after all the dry patches have disappeared. I use to have extremely dry patches all around my eye area and super wrinkly eye lids and after about 3 days of using this techniques the patches and wrinkles have disappeared. My undereye area isn't even puffy when I first wake up in the morning.
I just recently started doing the same but with sweet almond oil and I'll never buy eye cream again. Didn't even realize how puffy my eyes were until I started doing this. I now use it in the am as well without the aquaphor. Just want to add..I have extremely oily skin and HAD very dry and creppy undereyes.
@Jo's Glam Chat Do you have any tips for reversing and preventing deep wrinkles at night while sleeping on the neck and collarbone area? This just started happening to me about a year ago. I moisturize with my beauty cream and wrinkle cream, but it doesn't appear to be helping.
I watched YR touch up on the go video & did the trick with the moisturizer & tap a lil bit more concealer on 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 perfection ! WORKED like a charm thank you thank you thank you !!!!!!
I totally agree with the glossier stretch concealer 2 years later! It is fantastic for my under eye! I am nearly 40, fine lines etc and my over all skin type is oily but every concealer I've ever touched under my eye has stuck to dry patches i didn't know i had regardless how moisturized (my preferred eye cream is tatcha silk peony). Glossier is perfect for me!
As always great teaching!! Thank you, Elle ❤️ As for me & concealer, I am stumped due to the under eye puffiness (baggage) so I tend to run away from concealers because it emphasizes them so I just use my foundation instead. It’s due partly to allergies of course and hereditary. Would love to be able to have the brightness, flawless skin such as yours, absolutely stunning!! I’ve tried the “instant” , temporary fixes such as PTR specifically for that. While it does work/tighten like a miracle looking 10 years younger 🙌🏻 the downside is if ANY moisturizer underneath, concealer, foundation on top, if anything touches it, it totally removes the product (and there’s the case of the chalky residue too) Boom! the bags are back :( No matter how I apply it and not using an exceeding amount either. It’s such a very uncomfortable challenge! Doesn’t do a whole lot for the self esteem For Sure!!
Whew! What a relief to find you! I am a special occasions only make up wearer. Recently, I began attending church, and wanted to look my best. After globbing it on, I caught my reflection in the bathroom mirror....YIKES! It was just awful. I truly appreciate your advice. Thank you!!
Super helpful!! Thank you!! I’m 50 with hereditary dark purple in hollow and under my eyes. I have been just caking on Becca color corrector, Shape Tape concealer and Clinique powder!! So frustrated that ALL of this stuff... but I still see the purple!! I think these tips will be game changing!! 👍🏻😃❤️
This video was so on point ! I have oily /combo skin with under eyes of a 40+ yr old ( sigh - hard) yet I already do a lot of tricks you’ve said. You Added Even more technics for me though. I truly thank you so much ah-ha moments indeed. Yeh !! 💞👀
I am a new subscriber as of yesterday, and this is the kind of video/tutorial that I like and need. I have recently unsubscribed to many that just didn’t offer the help and recommendations that I need. The one’s that were just full of fluff and by the end of the videos, I would realize that I would have to spend a fortune and over an hour to get the look that they demonstrated. The videos that I have watched of yours are to the point and just what I am looking for. Thank you.
Thank you so so so much! Tried it out today and for the first time in a very very long time didn’t have any creasing , and this topic has been a big struggle of mine for quite a while after hitting 40! Love ur videos & ur way of explaining everything, very informative, helpful and coming from you with love and sincerity!! Thanx again all the way from Amman , Jordan
Great how-to. Thank you Elle. I have very dark circles and hollows with mature, dry undereyes. I have never used undereye pads but will def try them out. I just purchased the Glossier Stretch Undereye and like it but def have to use a second layer of either Nars or my Milani which is great too. I have the CT undereye you demonstrated but mine comes out in globs every time I twist it. I wish they'd change the packaging bc as is it is really messy. I waste so much product trying to keep it neat and clean. Thanks again for such a thorough demo. You look great. I'm not a beginner by any stretch but your tips are excellent for anyone struggling to make their undereyes look natural.
Thank you! Under eye is my worst area. BTW, I love the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder! I got it after seeing it in one of your videos and it is absolutely beautiful! It adds just the right amount of glow to give a dewy, youthful look.
These might be stupid questions, but is it best to wet your sponge b4 you use it to put on concealer or foundation? What is your opinion on whats better to use to apply concealer and foundation, a brush, sponge, or using your fingers? Does it just depend on what works best for you? Like just try them all out? FYI I have oily t zone but dry under eyes, like I get those awful cakey creases, 😫 Thanks for your help! I definitely subscribed and i can't wait for more tips...😘
I am so excited for this video! So many times you will see “you-tubers “ applying all these products that just ‘cake-up’. Thank you for explaining it all, I have been doing most all that you have shown however I am 47 yrs old & did not take the best care of my skin in younger yrs. I so appreciate all & the explanation you gave!
VERY HELPFUL tips and techniques! You're an amazing artist! I'd of course love more videos about application of makeup tips and techniques, but I'd also love to know what your hair type is (straight, wavy, curly) and what level of natural do you or do you not have. And, from start to finish, how did you create the hairstyle in this video? Thank you SO MUCH! You're the best, in my opinion. ❤
Do you have any recommendations for normal skin but needing a waterproof under eye concealer? I have some texture so this is a real struggle to find a balance of finding a non cakey under eye concealer.
I absolutely love your videos! I’m getting married in June and want to do my own makeup. I’m practicing and learning so much! It’s also so helpful that you recommend products. It’s pretty overwhelming to know which brand will work and the differences. I love that Sephora gives samples to try products w/o investing tons of $ upfront 👍 I love how natural your makeup looks! I like mine to look very natural as well, so you’re look is inspirational for me :)
Couldn't agree more!!! But nowadays people are all into stupidity... they are rude, mean, hurtful, with totally twisted perception of life and others. So Elle is like a breath of fresh air!
Great tips and tricks for the under eye. It seems to be a problem for a lot of people, me included. You always provide us with such informative videos that really help us with our skincare and makeup. ❤️
I'm so glad you mentioned 2 of the products I own - the Colorescience and Magic Away. Do you have any suggestions for a good eyelid primer for ageing Asian eyelids with wrinkles? I'm struggling to find something that doesn't make the wrinkles worse when I want to wear eyeshadow. Great tips though, thank you.
I JUST started using the eye patches and they seem to help alittle with the puffiness in the morning. But I find that using them during the night causes lines from them drying out. Idk. I put mine in the fridge and the cooling effect is very refreshing.
Omg Elle ty so much for this video!! I'm 42 & I totally have this problem n I've literally tried I thought everything!! Love your channel!! Xoxo🙌🏼❤️💋💄✌🏼️
I have watched sever a l of your tips this year. Just found you in last couple months to be honest. You do so much better than almost all out there, bc you show and explain. We love to see that. Blessings , love from me to you from Tx. 😘🙋🙏
One thing I'd like to point out is trying different color correctors... pick up an inexpensive palette and start testing them out. The color I needed was baby blue!! I don't have much discoloration but I do have deep circles, I also have light-medium cool-toned skin with absolutely NO yellow. Everyone uses peach and it in no way works on me (after purchasing dozens of them!). And at the end just like Elle I like to finish the same way with a few dots of another concealer that is closer to my foundation color to make it seamless... Hope this helps someone! Thanks for sharing. ps... Elle I picked up a Diffused light & Nars concealer (Honey) using your links, I went with Diffused to add some warmth in my face but I'm not sure if it will be too off. We'll see. xo
is the tiny beauty blender dry or damp that you're using? Also, is the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder a good powder to lightly set under eyes for people who have dry skin?
I have very dry under eyes and this powder was terrible for me. I just purchased the Ambient Light to see if that's any different. You could always purchase the mini from Sephora to see if it works for you 😊
Oh my gosh thank you so much. My makeup is flaw everywhere else but my under eye. Concealer just doesn’t set. And today I tried very tiny bit of primer and your blending tips. So much better. Luv yah!!!!! Thnx 😘
I have crepey undereye skin. One eye has these raised bumps called xanthelasmas or cysts. They are a pain to conceal. Have you had any clients with these? What would you suggest I use ? I will absolutely try your wonderful techniques. I have many different brands of concealers. I have the UD Naked Skin color corrector in peach. I have the tarte shape tape and I think it’s too drying. I realized I was piling on too much of the products plus too many layers. Any advice you can share to help me with this issue is greatly appreciated.
Hi Elle, I have very dark circles under my eye, like a bruise, purple, blue..and I also am so lucky to have bags along with the circles .. What would the best color and brand should I use for this wonderful inherited trait? I am 70 yrs. and I don't really wear make up, do you think I could just wear a tinted moisterizer over the correcter/concealer?
What would you recommend for the inner corner out to the bridge of my nose and up to my brow bone? (Like if you were to pinch the bridge of your nose between your eyes, where the pads of your fingers touch) I have purple discoloration there and if I use a more full coverage concealer, it looks cakey and like it’s just sitting on top of my skin or if I use a lighter coverage concealer it just doesn’t do anything to cover the discoloration and it still looks bad. I always pat my eye cream over that area. An oil maybe?
I didn't know that the Laura Mercier Flawless concealer was aimed at oily to combination skin! I've got it and now I understand why it's not my favourite. Knocking it out of the park Elle, brilliant vid, 🧡💙🧡💙🧡
Wow. Great video Elle! So informative 🤗 As always, great demonstration and instruction. I am 48 yrs old and have a real problem with fine lines & crow's feet 😢 What kind of eye patches do you like? I would love to start using those!
Great information! Thanks! I have finally found my HG combo. iS clinical c eye serum, iS youth eye cream then Fitglow beauty concealer and hourglass powder. No creasing😁
I’m only 20 and get this issue !!! I’m actually pretty oily but my eyes are always dry and i get fine lines! I have quite dark under eyes and inner corner is very dark so i think I’ve been using too much product and powder…. Will try this. Thankyou!
I tried the benefit brightening concealer in color #1 OMG I love it I can go out the door without face makeup put on some brows a little bit of color on my lips I'm done have you tried it
Thank you for this video and all the very useful tips. I like best the tip about not taking foundation all the way up. Because I have made the mistake of doing that for a long time. But I'm going to try the lightweight layers that you demonstrate here. Thank you!
Crystal Dawn may I ask what eye cream and moisturizer you use? I've been trying to find a good one. I've been using Neutrogena hydro boost
^^would luv to know too
My elf concealer is also a patchy mess !!! ):
@@parisinthe30sx I recommend you to try " The Ordinarys Coffein" serum (it's taking away all the dark circles & puffines) . And a good eyecream, "Vichy slow age". @@parisinthe30sx Hey✨ Do the Neutrogena work for combo skin? I live in Norway,so not everything work here in Scandinavia🤓
Thank you for this great education!! I'm in my 60's and just now learning! So appreciate that you say, "I will "get it". So encouraging.....
Life changing, thank you for this video
wow thank you so much!! means a lot
😘😘😘😘
I prep my skin but as soon as I apply concealer or foundation or anything and blend it, it creases immediately and starts getting patchy. 😩
😍😍😍😍
I needed this tutorial and can't wait to try your brilliant tips! I usually leave my under eye bare because concealer tends to accentuate my lines. This was incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I am very grateful for your knowledge!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video! I completely agreed that taking care of undereye AT NIGHT is super important. I'm 57, and I've found that a really good routine with moisturizing helps you avoid having to do (too much) concealing in the AM. Happy New Year everyone!
Thank you, Professor Leary!!! You are consistent in your teaching methods and your verbiage: "prep the area," "thin layers," "tap it out to a second skin," I find myself thinking these very words in my make-up routine. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
thank you so so much!
Not to forget strategic placement of the concealer.
What do we do if we can still see the dark circles using peach colour corrector?
@@centrerandom5640 Apply the color corrector and blend it in. Then apply a concealer on top.
Thanks! I've had dark circles and indentation since I was a young child because of asthma. Now I have that, texture, wrinkles and dryness...
I am 42 and have large eyes, deep set and super dry dark under eyes. This video changed my life and make up game. Thank you so much for this video.
That would just be Aplus+++
Regards Tassie Joy
Elle, your videos always make me want to run upstairs and try what you have shown! Even when I am in my flannels doing the dishes with nowhere to go! I am definately going to try a lighter hand with my under eye cream pre makeup!
❤️❤️
I have purchased SOOO many products and need these videos! Think I should have watched more of your instructional videos FIRST! Appreciate this help so very much! Thank you!
I'm in my 63rd year, I went to have a look at my cosmetics and skin care, I could have nocked down with a feather everything was over 10years old so I have started journey, now everything is new and new ways of doing things Elle Leary is my God I can't watch enough tutorials thankful elle
thank you so much Kim!
I use Wander eyepatches. The serum in the patch is amazing. And I stick them in the fridge so it helps with puffiness too.
Thanks I will check those out
Love the personality. So normal and not fake happy and acting like everything works perfectly. Very common sense and excellent specific recs.
Fantastic tips 👍🏼
I just found my holy grail routine for my under eyes. And it looks beautiful all day 🤩😘
Ty for that tip Ivonne
Hi, which eye cream do you use?
What powder do you set your under eyes with?
Anne M. I don’t use any powder to set my undereyes. I can’t. I have tried every possible way to use powder. But it always makes it look worse.
Bonnie Abadi at the moment I use the Instytutum truly-transforming brightening eye cream. But I also like the Is clinical youth eye complex
...I have been using ' Eye Patches' since.....1999.....the choice of those were limited at the time, and I have to say that " Andrea " made some of the BEST ones, even with all brands I have used. ....I would put these on whilst I did my eye makeup, and then do the remainder of my makeup....
Thank you so much!!
yay!!
Joy C , I’m pretty sure that’s my problem too. I’m going to try using like half of everything tomorrow & see how it goes. 🤞🏻
Im the same way. I have natural creases under my eyes not really fine lines. Did this technique work for you?
I really appreciate your advice!
lore1177 , I’m 36 and have your same issues.
@@carola3046 let me know how that one works please!
Jackie Davis Two days in a row and it seemed to look good. It lasted all day and looked just about as good as it did 10 hours earlier when I put it on. I also used the Laura Mercier eye brightening setting powder and really brushed it in as I saw a you tuber do. Fingers crossed.
I've got the same problem at age 52!
@@Yachtbebe I might try sweet almond oil as a primer under my concealer, thanks for the info :)
Thank you, Elle ❤️
As for me & concealer, I am stumped due to the under eye puffiness (baggage) so I tend to run away from concealers because it emphasizes them so I just use my foundation instead.
Thank you!!
So helpful! My makeup is a renegotiation at this age stage and I'm really starting over.
Thank you.
wow thank you so much!!! this means the world to me. Welcome to the fam xo
Thanx again all the way from Amman , Jordan
woohoo!!! yay!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m curious about the new tool you’re using that is helping your eye wrinkles...I need it!
it didn't work out :(
These might be stupid questions, but is it best to wet your sponge b4 you use it to put on concealer or foundation?
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! ... I always suffered with creasing concealer, but after following your top-class advice, now I don't! xxxx
Thank you! Gorgeous!!! What’s the blush & lip stick color youre wearing?
VERY HELPFUL tips and techniques! You're an amazing artist!
I'd of course love more videos about application of makeup tips and techniques, but I'd also love to know what your hair type is (straight, wavy, curly) and what level of natural do you or do you not have. And, from start to finish, how did you create the hairstyle in this video?
Thank you SO MUCH! You're the best, in my opinion. ❤
thanks!! I have a whole hair playlist where I do this look
@@ElleLearyArtistry thank you, I'll check it out. I meant to say, what level of FRIZZ you might have if any.
Do you have any recommendations for normal skin but needing a waterproof under eye concealer? I have some texture so this is a real struggle to find a balance of finding a non cakey under eye concealer.
Wonderful Video! Excellent explanation on skin prep
Which brushes would you recommend for concealer application?
any flat synthetic concealer brush
You're seriously the best kept secret on TH-cam, you are amazing and deserve to have millions of followers!
I agree! Cant believe Elle doesn't have 1M by now! C'mon girls, tell your friends to subscribe!
thank you love!!
😍😍😍😍😍
Couldn't agree more!!! But nowadays people are all into stupidity... they are rude, mean, hurtful, with totally twisted perception of life and others. So Elle is like a breath of fresh air!
I picked up the Biossance eye cream and I love it!!👍🏻
yay!!
Love the color of your eyebrows. What do you use?
Great tips and tricks for the under eye. It seems to be a problem for a lot of people, me included. You always provide us with such informative videos that really help us with our skincare and makeup. ❤️
I'm so glad you mentioned 2 of the products I own - the Colorescience and Magic Away. Do you have any suggestions for a good eyelid primer for ageing Asian eyelids with wrinkles? I'm struggling to find something that doesn't make the wrinkles worse when I want to wear eyeshadow. Great tips though, thank you.
This is the best concealer video I have ever seen...thanks Elle 🥰
thank you so so much!
I JUST started using the eye patches and they seem to help alittle with the puffiness in the morning. But I find that using them during the night causes lines from them drying out. Idk. I put mine in the fridge and the cooling effect is very refreshing.
My favorite corrector is Nyx dark circle corrector or Benefit brightening erase paste.
Did you ever tryed Karine Joncas eyes patches and serums? They transformed my under eyes. Its Canadien and cruelty free🙂💚
First how old are you ? What change did the products do for you?
Omg Elle ty so much for this video!! I'm 42 & I totally have this problem n I've literally tried I thought everything!! Love your channel!! Xoxo🙌🏼❤️💋💄✌🏼️
I was just wondering what foundation you applied!! Thank you and awesome video :)
I have watched sever a l of your tips this year. Just found you in last couple months to be honest. You do so much better than almost all out there, bc you show and explain. We love to see that. Blessings , love from me to you from Tx. 😘🙋🙏
What colour of colour corrector is suitable for Asian olive skin under eye circles, any advice? Thank you for this video. 😊
Elle what is the tool you’ve been using that helps with the under eye wrinkles you mentioned ?! I have to know!
Happy New Year!! 🎆
It ended up not doing much :(
One thing I'd like to point out is trying different color correctors... pick up an inexpensive palette and start testing them out. We'll see. xo
Another great video❣️You’re a great trainer/teacher😍. Thank you for sharing!!
is the tiny beauty blender dry or damp that you're using? Also, is the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder a good powder to lightly set under eyes for people who have dry skin?
I have very dry under eyes and this powder was terrible for me. I just purchased the Ambient Light to see if that's any different. You could always purchase the mini from Sephora to see if it works for you 😊
I use it dry but try it both ways xo
Oh my gosh thank you so much. My makeup is flaw everywhere else but my under eye. Concealer just doesn’t set. And today I tried very tiny bit of primer and your blending tips. So much better. Luv yah!!!!! Thnx 😘
I'm so glad! yay!!!
This video was great! I thought using the most hydrating concealer was what my dry skin needed but now I think that is part of my problem. Thanks!!
Same!!
Thank you! You gave great options. What is better Urban Decay or Nyxx?
An oil maybe?
yes for this I would use the color corrector xo
Elle Leary Artistry thanks so much for answering! I will give that a try 👍🏻
The ever elusive under eye concealing! Thank you for giving me some new things to try. Great video💗
I didn't know that the Laura Mercier Flawless concealer was aimed at oily to combination skin! I've got it and now I understand why it's not my favourite.
Knocking it out of the park Elle, brilliant vid, 🧡💙🧡💙🧡
❤️❤️
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
These tips are awesome. Thank you!! I’ll watch this again and again. ❤️
I’m only 20 and get this issue !!! I’m actually pretty oily but my eyes are always dry and i get fine lines! I have quite dark under eyes and inner corner is very dark so i think I’ve been using too much product and powder…. Will try this. Thankyou!
I really needed this. Had a hot, mess going on under my eyes. Thanks for addressing this issue.
Do you or should you dampen the sponge for concealer? I do for foundation.
Thank you!
