Wherever you go, there you are! No matter where your go, it’s important to have structure. No matter what that structure is! Some people find it in a job others find life purpose in other ways. Take care.
Retired people all over the world face the same issues. The transition can be rough. Some people just fail retirement. They aren’t able to move on and accept the fact that their job was only a means to an end. Men especially spend decades climbing the corporate ladder. It becomes more than a job…it actually starts to define who they are and why they are here.
That was a great walk, nice trees and landscape. ( I, too, worked in the oil patch for a consultant engineering firm (on the proposed 48" nat gas pipeline from Prudhoe Bay, down through Canada, to U.S. border) for 5 years 1971 to 76.) My question to you, Paul, is I think of engineering as mainly math and physics, with some application of chemistry and electrical: so would you be able to apply A.I. to your engineering challenges, or would it be 95% your own thinking to solve each project?
I have seen this article about Sweden where they created a way to turn garbage into electricity. Now they are running out of waste and have to import it. Finding a way to do that on a smaller scale and also the side effect is helping to clean up the trash piles. Falls into your history of working in the energy sector.
Thx Paul & Maya honest, even vulnerable content. God created you with an emptiness deep in your soul, which can only be filled with Jesus. This is indeed about not working, not being a productive contributor to society, but not engineering, rather obeying God, loving your Creator, through showing love to other people, by serving them, such as volunteer work through a local service organization or church. You're focused too much on Paul, while Living for Jesus is the only way to find fulfillment, living for yourself will keep you in a state of emptiness & eventually depression

Number #1 PRO OF the Philippines in my opinion are the people!
Pros and cons no Matter where you choose.
No matter where we choose to live in the world, your Pros must out weigh your Cons.
Think the number one most important in my opinion is for a person to have the funds, preferably a pension enough to live happy.
For US we are happier with Less people! Seems like more people means more problems. The farther away for US means less trash, and noise polution. We like our SPACE, in the Middle OF no where ON the coast, sounds OF the waves, Windy, with vegitation Cocunut, mango, and banana, and Palm tres, view OF the Ocean. Very Peaceful.
When you Find your Heavin, is when you sleep well waking UP in the Morning feeling refresh.
We all growing OLD enjoy what time you have left.
Most importently make wise chioces that meet your expectations in order for you to be happy.
Different strokes for different folks
The only Vlogger I’ve seen being truthful about the condition of things in the Philippines is actually Paul 👍
Not any kind of “ Paradise “ like many of the other vloggers describe the place, but of course it’s over 7400 islands so some are better and some worse …
I think its time to have a little girl
