In a way, that scandal might have been one of the best things that happened to Richard Bacon, he seems to have gone on to bigger and better things. I miss his 5live afternoon radio show, and his unique interviewing style.
God! I remember sitting in my grandas car as a wee guy and looking at the paper. I didn't really understand what had happened and why he had to leave, but I knew it was major! Now i'm 22, same age he was! So weird lol
Nothing wrong taking cocaine, it may damage your brain but best advice I would give is do not constantly take cocaine as it will have an impact on your health and also your career, Richard Bacon has moved on from the past he is a successful radio presenter, he is cool, he has moved on slot since the BBC sacked him, he has made more money ever since, he left Blue Peter to focus on other aspects of his career.
Nice guy or not, he had to go. Blue Peter is a British institution, based on teaching kids values. Those are not the kind of values they need. There are plenty of 'cool' people who would disagree, because they think taking illegal drugs is fine. But it's not fine. It's illegal and dangerous. Get a grip.
He seems like a really nice, intelligent guy and he dealt with the situation in an extremely mature and introspective manner.
I really enjoyed those “50 most shocking world cup moments” shows, hope they make another. His delivery is great in it
Richard was one of the greatest broadcasters on Radio 5, and I do miss his afternoon shows.
Some will beg to differ.
He comes across as very humble guy with his head totally screwed on. Top lad!
News of the World - gone for ever - Richard Bacon - still here and laughing.
Brilliant words, brilliantly spoken. I watched this as a, curiosity, but am so happy I did.
Couldn't they have waited until filming was done before firing him?
Audiences. They need to make money.

So what !! he wasn't a child abuser like most of 70's and 80s BBC presenters!!
Well looks like hes just done a few lines near the end, ...sleeves pushed up, the look....love that man....yeah you xcx
I would have loved to have weekend session off your chops with Richard bacon back in the 2000s seems like a sound guy
He now realises this was wrong
I remember delivering my papers that morning and reading the paper during my break

Now one of the best radio broadcasters around, but more importantly comes across like such a decent guy.
0:31 OK. He had some cocaine. I understand that. But did they really have to fire the man ON AIR?!
Very underrated comment
He wasn't fired on air. This is a different clip.
@@forthrightgambitia1032 wooooooooooooosh
If Richard Quest from CNN can bounce back from a Crystal meth bust in new York a few years back ... anything is possible
He just tried a substance so bloody what!!!! He wasn’t a drug addict he was young and experimenting like most people growing up!!!
Max Clifford - going for ever and it is as bad as it seems - Richard Bacon - still here and laughing.

Great video
He reminds me of Alex James from blur.
Nathan Barley!
@1:35 a tough line to hear, more like nothing to be sniffed at!
Are all his tv’s fuzzy as he refused to pay the bbc tv licence?
Good to know tha Max Clifford got his comeuppance later.
he's hot.
He's a great guy! I respect him!
+Jimmie Russel well i support him he's my hero
0:31 At least end filming before you fire him!
He seems a decent guy but I'll never forget his appalling interview with Jim Davidson
Who is the person who suddenly tells him to Get out, in a rather aggressive manner? Presumably this was never shown on air as part of the programme.
no that's part of the show, it's a joke from years before the 'scandal'. she's supposed to be a strict teacher type
Blue peters loss was GMB’s gain considering his now been diagnosed with ADHD nowadays it wouldn’t have been dealt with like it was
What does ADHD have to do with this?
and you running jim davidson down on radio lol
laughing now he owns his own production company probably made a lot of money since
then why are you here?
he loves his Charlie lol not the perfume
Looked 30 not 20
Poor bloke...
People is glass Houses
Just seen him on gmtv this week, he's so hot, got better with age
it's a shame that someone can be so demonised over taking a bit of cocaine. people are weird
I feel sorry for him that he was betrayed, look where max clifford is now. In prison and now dead, his name is mud
I'd only be an idiot if I took the drugs you took lol.
Poor guy, people are so judgemental and nasty,
That's exactly what he did to other people, he should've been jailed.

It's also been an outdated and obsolete show for about 30 years which only still survives today out pure sentiment.
😝😝😝😝🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Stop blaming your friend - you were the druggy. Good grief - grow up....sounds like he's on something now - haha
He was betrayed, I feel sorry for him
Just playing victim.
