- LITHUANIANS gathered in the northern town of Siauliai on Wednesday (July 6) to see a Turkish-made drone set to be sent to Ukraine after a crowd-funding campaign.
Thousands gathered at a military airfield near Siauliai to see the Bayraktar TB2 combat drone, adorned with the logo of a hawk and Lithuanian and Ukrainian colours.
"I donated myself, so I came to see the result", said Ieva Skeryte, after taking a selfie and saying how happy she was that the drone would soon be transferred to Ukraine.
Lithuanians crowdfunded almost 6 million euros ($6.11 million) in small donations in May for the drone, following which Turkish manufacturer Baykar donated it instead.

@Anonymous Bosch Bayraktar is a basic drone, despite that it had the entire Russian (allegedly an ex-supapowah and now a regional power or in the very least a very serious power) military, stepping on eachother during the opening phase of the war and sent the entire Russian army (again with previously mentioned titles) absolutely bottled backwards. Bayraktar already did it's damage and earned its rep. the fact that they are being shot down NOW is nothing compared to the damage it already inflicted. Anyways better a drone goes down instead of a plane with its Ukrainian pilot. Get with the programme.

The Ukraine Support Tracker lists no Turkish military aid to Ukraine and the list on Wikipedia of countries supporting Ukraine only lists the continued sales of Bayraktar TB2 drones as military aid.

It brings me joy to see the Bayraktar TB2 being treated like a rockstar. Bell AH-1 Cobra - USD 11 million....but you can get one used (they are Vietnam era....) for 2.5 million

The world always knew the vast resources Russia has and that he has not fully mobilised for way, but again, so what ? Germany doesn't have much functional gear in their military *cough* besides the stuff that is needed to stay ready for an attack...
But at least they train the Ukrainan personell for their systems now, as it already happened with the PZH2000.
The 40 PZH they have are needed for Nato defense and the other 60 aren't operational. And it's like that with every type of vehicle. Older vehicles are stored but not operational either.
For example Germany sends 30 Gepard FLAK tanks now and train the Ukrainan crews. But Germany only has 40k ammunition (which is enough to destroy 1200 targets, but still not very much per tank). Switzerland produces the ammunition but they don't want to deliver because they want to stay neutral...

it's autonomous enough to come back if the communication is lost like when Ukraine's south nuclear power plant TB2 were flying around that area and s300 fire at it and rocket explosion was the last thing drone pilot saw then he lost the communication of the drone but miraculously after hours it came back to the airfield by proving its autonomous on board system with many holes on the drone.

Lithuania is a small country with a small military budget. For the Lithuanian armed forces, to give Bayraktar to Ukraine is a significant loss. But large countries with billions in military budgets are still unable to arrange a large-scale deliveries of heavy weapons to Ukraine. Shame!

And in four months, the West delivered only four HIMARS systems. I know that Western countries send howitzers, Javelins and other weapons, but their number is absolutely not enough for 1000 kilometers of clashes. Western politicians are more concerned with saving "Putin's face" than saving Ukrainian lives.

They raised almost the whole cost of one but, when Baykar found out about it they said they would donate one and asked if the money could be used for humanitarian purposes in Ukraine instead.
From a newspaper article: "The target of five million euros ($5.4 million) was raised in just three and a half days, largely in small amounts, to fund the purchase of a Byraktar TB2 military drone, according to Laisves TV, the Lithuanian internet broadcaster that launched the drive."

The Turkish government actually isn’t providing any military aid to Ukraine at all.
It’s only sales (or in this case the donation) of drones from the company which the Turkish government allows to continue.

Ukraine has hit over a dozen Russian ammo depots in the last week or so........when artillery is the only advantage Russia has , these modern weapons are going to make Russia combat ineffective ( offense negligible ) just like what happened to Germany in 42 and 45 , after it looked like it could not be beaten in Russia

Nice gesture! I hope more than 1 of the new ones get into the hands of Ukraine, though. It seems since Feb/March, the original batch has been mostly shot down. At 'only' $1-2M, these are great value in the battlefield.

A side part of a system on the battlefield. It needs systems like Anti Radar. Western allies must provide them. If this is achieved then...Ukraine did not have these.
