We've taken you through the bones, moved soil around to create hills and valleys, staged boulders, planted with respect to microclimates and top dressed with rock and pebble ribbons.
    Now it's YOUR turn.
Share your photos! We want to see what you come up with in your own gardens!

Hi Laura! Can rock and wood chips be mixed? Hope that doesn't sound too silly but I ask because I see that you use only rock. I'm TRYING to create a succulent haven and have laid out quite a bit of wood chips in the bed for decorative purposes. I love the look of your various rock sizes and wanted to see if I could recreate your beautiful ribboning over the chips. Thank you for your help.

      Anna De Leon absolutely!
Lay those rocks right on top of the wood mulch!

How many inches of soil is needed for an area like that? I have all hard ground in the area I want to use that’s like that size. Don’t want to mess it up! Thanks!

Your creations are so beautiful.....but how to get succulents grow so big....are these those regular succulents that we get in small containers or are they different?

We have pretty dense clay like soil, should sand and/or manure be mixed in before planting succulents??

ARMED SNOWFLAKE pumice or “drystall” would be a great idea in your zone.

Hi! Wait, I don't understand. I'm in a tropical country and I just saw that you'd mixed succulents with tropical plants. Is this really possible? I love succulents and I'm afraid that I wouldn't have meet their requirements.

A question for this project or any simular project like this that would apply. do you have any customers that have projects done like this the cats use as there litter box? If so do you have any suggestions?

Richard Gonchar it has been my experience that animals don't like the feel of the crushed rock on their paws. Remember also that we recommend sealing the fine textured granite (criva) with wetlook 2000.

Laura Eubanks Thanks I'll try that wetlook 2000

Watched this little video again for the pure joy of it and yes totally have to add to Laura's experience on animals not liking the rock. My dog is hilarious when he tries to get to our side path. Like a little bird tip toeing over them and sometimes the skill of mastering balance as he only walks on the bricks boarding the path haha very funny. Plus it makes for good security. Even an actual bird brings our attention with the noise of the stones being stepped on. 🙌
