This video was incredibly helpful, absolutely perfect instructions. Took me a bit longer than the 4:13 but even little to no experienced Average Joe’s can do this. Thank you!
I did this repair, super simple, but at first I had a leaky hose when dispensing water. Upon lookign closer, I realized when i cut the hose I did not clut it flat, so the water was shooting out of the side that was not flush. I took scissors, cut it as straight as I coudl get it, then took a file and files the top flat, popped it back in (Push hard and feel a click as it slips in) and then secured it with the tabs, then i was good to go
Thanks for showing this. Mine just started acting up, and dispensing water slowly, and also not making ice efficiently. A few notes if I could add to you video if it hasn't been noted before: While the back cover is off, now is a great time to clean the coil pack area and all around underneath to get up any dust bunnies and debris. Also: Be sure to run the water through the refrigerator. Dispense a gallon or two before using it after this repair is done. Same as you would a filter change..

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer. I have had to replace the valve 5 times now. They last about a year before either the water dispenser or the ice maker valve stop working. Those little hoses connecting into the magic connectors on the valve had to be trimmed this time because of leaking. My frige came without the retainers. I use a bit of silicon plumbers grease to help get the hoses to seat.

do the hose retainers prevent leaking? when I push the hose back into the inlet, it still leaks even though it is secured. The only thing I am missing are those retainers

worth mentioning that the original water inlet valve for professional series has a fastener connect hoses and the replacement most likely has the quick connect push hoses, so you will have to cut the original hoses in order to fit them in the replacement
Try typing this exactly in Amazon. "Ohaha 100pcs Locking Clips for RO Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Fittings (1/4" 3/8"each 50pcs)" This is the closest I've found. I've seen another person on TH-cam use these clips. If you don't believe me type on TH-cam "part 5 icemaker water flow valve replacement"

Be sure the cinch valve holding the tubes is not stuck when you press the tubes in. Give them a slight tug to make sure they are secure and not compressed. I had to use a thin paint scraper to disengage one of the holders since it was leaking. Other than that, this was a simple repair.
Part was super easy to replace but when water dispenser is pressed, only get a buzzing noise & vibration from the copper tubing and new assembly?? no water - any ideas?
I have a Frigidaire gallery French door refrigerator and the ice maker and water dispenser stopped working. I confirmed that the water supply is good. I pushed in the check valve at the water filter and confirmed that I’m not getting water out of the valve up to the filter. I ordered a new valve assembly and replaced it. Now the coil only buzzes when pushing down the water dispenser paddle. I thought perhaps I had a bad part out of the box, so I ordered a second valve assembly and it does the same thing. Please help!
My ice maker doesn't work. I've tried a dozen things up to now. Man tossing a $100+ dollars at this is just firing the parts canon IMO. I'm gonna have to research this better.
DO NOT TAKE A SWIG OF THE WATER IMMEDIATELY AFTER REPLACING. I immediately heaved lmao, make sure to cycle out that old water in your fridge, should be good to go after.

Agree re: design. Frigidaire refrigerator (Gallery Series) is the worst refrigerator I’ve ever owned. Poor design in many ways. Water lines freeze. Ice maker has needed to be replaced 3 times. Door seals have failed/frayed twice. Now water inlet valve failed/cracked causing flood of kitchen with water leaking into basement. Will never buy another Frigidaire product.

My son's ice won't work but water dispensor does with lower pressure than usual. Could it still involve a bad water valve?
Did this repair in less than ten minutes, thanks for the step by step
I wish you'd describe what each line represents.
Brown line = water from the house to the filter
White line = filter line to freezer
Not sure about the others. Anyone else?

Water is leaking out of the yellow valve. Of there anything I can use to ensure the line is secured

Does anyone know where to find the translucent retaining clips (one around each tubing, see video at 01:05)?
Did you ever find out where to get the translucent retainer clips?

I think my refrigerator is missing a retainer clip. Do you get them with the manifold

Do all new side by side Frigidaires have the water inlet on the right? (Right when looking directly at the back of fridge)
Part was super easy to replace but when water dispenser is pressed, only get a buzzing noise & vibration from the copper tubing and new assembly?? no water - any ideas?
Did you ever get it fixed? Mine is doing the same thing.
My husband just replaced the valve but the water is still not coming out fast. Is the expected if not what should he do?
Sounds like his wife is making quite a bit of noise as well
What was the valve part # number I need that exact one try every number on still no luck
Finally got it fixed. Don't use a knife to cut the hose. You have to use scissors or a Shear to make a flat even cut

i have the same issue. we’re you able to figure out the problem?
@@samantharobbins2043 I ended up replacing one of the diodes and that fixed it.
@@jakeandaim07 okay thank you i will try that
I already replaced the water inlet valve/242253002 but still the same problem, the water coming out is low.
We just replaced our bad water valve but then after 10 min or so the water dispenser dispensed on its own. Did we hook hoses wrong?
I replaced this part and still not getting water to my freezer... the white and green fill lines going up to the freezer from this part are bone dry
Did you get it fixed? Same issue with ours.
@@jakeandaim07 same here
My valve is a whirlpool one the lines are all clear. I have no idea where they go
My hoses on the original valve are not disconnecting... I don't want to cut them if I don't have to:/
2:49 he puts the green connection on backwards this video is obviously fake
It's an AC coil. Doesn't matter.
You cannot simply reconnect the nut on the copper supply line to the valve. You have to replace the brass ferrule compression fitting.
My ice maker doesn't work. I've tried a dozen things up to now. Man tossing a $100+ dollars at this is just firing the parts canon IMO. I'm gonna have to research this better.
Low water pressure can cause ice maker to stop. Is your water filter due for replacement?
I've changed 2 of these. Brand New one leaked. Now water comes out the ice maker instead of the tube...
My output goes into the bottom of freezer first then comes back out into the inlet valve so you have a video for that one

Took all of 10 minutes to replace. But it didn’t😢 stop the drip!!!
Make sure the hoses are clear of any debris/obstructions, then make sure that the hoses are properly aligned.
Our brand new fridge shoots water out of the top of the solenoids
POS design. My new valve still leaks around hose inlet
