I just love this family. I live in AZ, USA and there are people from your country who come here for the winter and they talk about Poutine. There is a restaurant that makes it so I think I now want to find it and have some. On another subject, I am so impressed with your gaggle of girls. They are growing up to be such lively ladies with skills that probably not many others have, having lived under the roof of you and your wife. Nothing is beyond their ability and they are not afraid of doing all the messy work when it comes to life in the wild.

I make a "thanksgiving" poitine. Regular and sweet potato fries, cheese curd, a big clump of roasted turkey, turkey gravy and then a big dollop of cranberry sauce. Sometimes I use a homemade cranberry and orange relish.

But they have lied to us that natural fats are bad. It's the crisco and refined oils that are bad. Every year they attack some food to say it is bad. Why is that? It is 'all good' in moderation!.. and yes it does look good!
I doubt my heart doctor would approve of me eating this. I have had 5 stents placed in the vessels around my heart and that would have been 5 heart attacks for anyone. The technology was not there when I was in my 30's. I'm so glad it was when I needed it in my 50's.

I am from the Netherlands but live in Indonesia and my brother and his family live in Vancouver - Canada, I try to go there every year once or twice (it's been a while due to this pandemic) and have eaten poutine as well and it is truly great and addictive! I never knew what poutine was before but I made it for my husband and kids for years but we added buttermilk biscuits on the side. I had to have a side because I had 4 kids - 3 of them boys and I had to fill them up somehow. One time when my husband was home with the boys he made biscuits and sausage gravy. He had the biggest pyrex bowl full of the biscuits and gravy and they ate the whole thing on 50 buttermilk biscuits! I could hardly keep enough food in the house they ate so much! Now they are all gone from me, my husband has passed on and I am alone. It is so hard to not buy too many groceries for just me! LOL! Love your wife and girls. And you are pretty cute. Really enjoy your channel.

For the first time in my life I wish I was Canadian. Problem is I made stock from the bone of the Christmas ham but immediately turned it into ham soup. Now I have to find pork bones to make more stock. I think this is a good problem. Thanks for the inspiration.

Poutine, German style :
- strips of smoked ham on bottom
- topped with cheese curds
- some crispy strips of bacon
- drenched in pork gravy (no flour)
- a poached egg or two if desired
Successfully made without a single plant based ingredient. Poutine heaven!
