Scared of needles and was proud that she "exposed" her mom. Laplus is really such a kid. Also, for those who are scared on getting injections, close your eyes and/or look away. Not seeing when the needle hits might be less stressful that looking at it.
Understanding that the pain is harmless let’s you rationalize and subside your fears. What I’m scared of is that they’ll mess up the injection so I always stare straight at the needle.

As an adult with a mild needle phobia, the way that the doctor/nurse interacts with me during the procedure makes a world of difference. La+ was so lucky to have someone like that nurse in the room with her.

I layed on the operation table, the anestasia was in the skin, time passed and I asked "when do you start" and the doctor said: "I'm already mostly finished"... we had just talked about university stuff while she was operating :D

Yeah. The needle size used for each procedure is completely different. I did both giving blood sample for annual health check up and blood donation and gotta say the one used in donation is rather intimidating.
That actually happened to me. But I confused it with blood trauma because I had a botched blood draw as a child (nurse didn't properly patch the area). When I had my blood taken as an adult for lab test, the nurse didn't even knew what you've said was a thing and was instead shocked still as I went dizzy & started puking. Thankfully the restroom was next door and I was able to hobble my way there, but goddamn.

Going as Someone who regularly gets blood drawn I'd say Shots hurt more- mostly because the needle is more shallow for drawing blood whereas most shots need to go straight to the muscle. the trick is to keep yourself as calm as possible so you don't constrict your blood vessels- your body is reacting to brain panic as Incoming serious damage, restrict bloodflow to avoid blood loss!
