For easier communication with your family hand held radios would be interesting and usefull, wouldnt need to shout out loud :)
Can I send you guys a set of radios so you can communicate by radio when you guys apart???
They have/had a set back during the farm tour but I think that remembering to keep the batteries up and to remember to carry it just wasn't worth the hassle.

I'm also curious why you didn't put the electric fence in the door way and leave the doors open? I just imagine they would get all trained a whole lot faster, but perhaps that would risk escapees = chaos.

Is your son's name really Mr. Brown? If not what is his given name and how did he earn the. Moniker of Mr. Brown?
His real name is Gideon Rhodes. When he was a baby his favorite book that he like to have read to him was "Mr Brown Can Moo, Can You?" by Dr. Seuss. He like to have it read to him so much that someone said that he was going to turn in to Mr. Brown and the nickname stuck.
The boys use to be called Thing One and Thing Two but that didn't stick as well as Mr. Brown did.

Make sure to leave arches tall enough for the squash to hang down on the arches, so you don't have to duck every time. :-)
