I was somewhat sceptical about Acidus Novus as I thought the area to fill in by the spectator looked suspicious. Still, over dozens of performances, it has never been mentioned and has consistently produced amazing reactions. I only mention this as the method only uses a pen and billet, carry in any wallet. Having said that, I love all the gadget wallets etc. As magicians, we tend to go a little over the top, and the simple method is often very effective.
Yeah I agree man, I know what you're saying. I do some billet work as well and I've never had any issues with acidus novus myself.. I just know there is some concern with it at times. Julien Losa has some amazing work on billets. One version where a participant can write on the entire billet and fold it. You can open and close the billet right in front of them invisibly after that to get your peek. It's incredible but I'm still working on the handling with that. As far as acidus novus goes, Phedon Bilek and Lewis LeVal have some great subtleties for those concerned with the writing space.
Thanks so much!! Someone else said the same thing so ill have to put something together. I am quite limited on impressiond devices but ill work on it my friend :)
Have you ever checked out the Alias wallet by Colin McLeod? I love pretty much everything Paul Carnazzo releases, but the Alias is my new go-to peek device. It's reminiscent of the lookout, but even more streamlined and deceptive.
Yes over the Minimal Wallet for thr fact the suc loads vertically and the minimal wallet loads horizontally but both work very well. I'll try and get to that review soon I'm way backed up on products that I needed to review first but the suc should be a super quick one since there is literally nothing to it.
Great Video Christ! very informative. I have several of the same peek wallets. I totally love the Razor & Shadow wallets. You can actually stare at the peek in those 2 wallets taking your time and it's looks totally normal in front of spectators. In one of you other videos you said Shadow wallet can be used as a switch wallet. I don't remember that being mentioned in the tutorial from Dee Christopher?
Thank you! Yeah they are great for peeks it feels very natural and motivated. So basically, in order to switch something, you can open up the large pocket and either place something in there, or show something in there while hiding the index side. So it looks as if there is only the one large pocket. You achieve the switch by pulling whatever you need to from the index side. It would work the same as when you do the thought of card prediction, and show that there is only one folded up card in the wallet (as you're hiding the index side). I have used this function as a switch in a few different routines and situations.
Wow A quantity of quality advise on peek devices. Thanks! My questions: can you do the same with impression devices? Can you review the h-wallet and the phantom wallet?
You're welcome, and thanks so much! I only have a small amount of impression devices but let me see what I can do :) I also do not own the h-wallet or Phantom wallet. I will have to take a look at those!
@@ChrisEdwardsMagic niceeee you replied. Same here id like to start with impression devices, maybe your video could help. For the wallets their both 150$+ if your not sure about them dont buy them and make a review both very expenisve. Thought you had them already because you have a ton of wallets😅
Of course! Your reasoning makes sense. I buy way too many wallets and yes it's been expensive over the years. I have a few impression pads. One common one being psypher pro. You actually get 3 unlimited use impression pads in 3 different sizes. I am looking at checking out the impression pads from black cat magic as well.
@@ChrisEdwardsMagic yeah heared a lot of good stuff from psypher. If your really into wallets and want a impression device maybe check out the parawallet from paralabs. It has a impression device built in or maybe wonder prediction, also about 100$
Great review. I own Magic Makers Magic Wallet. Simple but whole peek. I also own the Pantera from Alakazam. That's a great little wallet and great peek. I'm surprised that you don't mention Stealt Assassin. One of the best peek methods of a business card for me is Phill Smith's HUMINT. It is also a great and funny routine.
Hey man! Thank you! The stealth assassin will be in the top peek wallets. I wanted to make a video of peek devices that I think are great but don't consider wallets in the sense that I would really only use them to perform. That's what this video is about.
Chris thanks for the review Actually now Im watching the shadow wallet form DC , have to say it an amazing wallet with its peak and the new system that he's insert into it, making more room for cards. billets, business cards he's just by viewing it let me the feeling that this wallet is slim [which i like] and have most of the functions that i need as mentalist. Although waiting right now lol for the salary to come in and "go out" at penguin. I've removed 3 times and this is the 4 time the stealth assassin wallet . and i still can't figure out if I want it or not the wallet looks like he's fit into a jacket and I'm not a "jacket" guy and on the way from EIllusionist already have Hermes on his way , Orphic+ in the cart AND Shadow wallet now lol I'm just gonna receive 5 wallet in a month.
You're welcome! Haha I know the feeling man. Wallet fever. The Shadow Wallet is my all time favorite mentalism wallet. It has been since the day I got it, and it still is now after trying out many different wallets. I love everything abour it and I used it for my every day wallet for the last couple of years. I've tried other wallets and I always come back to the shadow wallet. Every one you mentioned is great though honestly.

No I haven't personally but I've heard great things and it's definitely on my list! Thanks :)
What’s up Chris, I know you’re busy but I would like to see that review 9:03. You say it does the SUC the best, so this over the minimal wallet?
Yes over the Minimal Wallet for thr fact the suc loads vertically and the minimal wallet loads horizontally but both work very well. @Rob Jacks no worries man! The wallet specific video will feature a lot of the wallets I've reviewed and then some.
I wouldn't mind a "peek" at your device!
🤣🤣🤣
excellent review as always...
Thanks so much my friend I appreciate the kind words!! Means a lot :)
Most of the magic reviewers on TH-cam seem to be high on caffeine, I prefer your presentation.
