- These are all the videos I took of the high security police car escorts of prisoners through Liverpool on the way to the courthouse or returning to prison. This is the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) escorting the HMP prison vehicle using BMW X5 and BMW cars. Interesting that they don't use motorcycles. Great sirens and I like the lights on the BMWs.

I remember when i was at work one day and i was out the back putting the rubbish in the bin and hearing an explosion then suddenly about 4 police helicopters and two army helicopters flying over and about 20 or more police cars coming speeding through town there was 6 high risk prisoners had somehow locked themselves in the prison library so they got the armed forces and police to blow a hole in the wall of the prison to get them out and transfer them to another prison it was insane

You know your one of a kind when you get a speedy service to and from prison/court with that kind of escort

That's a good point. I wonder why they are not used for these prison transports.
Not what SEG was created for , no sirens because they are a quiet and dignified way of traffic control for when royalty or high value people want to move around without all the noise and shouting. These officers are there to stop break out attempts so loud, noisy, aggressive, move fast and hard.

If you pass in a vehicle the police escorting the prison van have the power to stop your vehicle by force using their own vehicles.

I don’t get why the police are telling that white van dude to stop 5.39 when they have a lane free, I don’t see the point in that.
They don't know if it is a van is a ram vehicle so they stop everything, and their convoy is never to stop or go below a certain speed. Watch the second last car in the convoy a BMW X5 always on the left (wing car) watching the lead salon fastback car in front hold up the traffic ( example at 4:43 watch the BMW X5 come down the left side ( inside ) 4:52 to swap and keep the junction block while thr lead car goes to keep the convoy not lose speed; the BMW X5 wing car gets back in the rear quickly at 4:58; noting the car horn ), a play swaps so the lead car can get back the front. The last car is the relay car flagging behind relaying it pass points a ready to block the door on the vans if they are stopped and rammed etc. The police are talking to each other playing swaps and a tactical unit as one,

They are transporting highly dangerous prisoners - Cat A's. Terrorists, gansters, murderers etc.. not general prisoners! But, I would have thought this was blatantly obvious!
