Tent Camping | Cooking Steaks & Pancakes on Campfire

On this trip we camp in the forest and relax by the fire. We spend the evening cooking some steaks and watch a movie in our tent before bed. In the morning we start the fire again and cook a big breakfast while enjoying the sounds of the forest.

As many movies that I have watched, and I'm looking for the monster in the woods, and camping has not been on my agenda......but, you guys make me want to try it....never alone, but we shall see....totally love th e vids....loved your hubby pouring your syrup 1st....

I’m dying. That looks so fun. I have a wife and two girls 11 and 12 that simply don’t want to tent camp with me. A cabin with a hot tub and kitchen is about as close as I might get. That seriously looks like so much fun. I am jealous.

Try dryer lint, stuff into empty toilet paper or trimmed paper towel roll, them wrap in wax paper with the ends crimped. Good fire starter....

Hey guys, good to see you back. Enjoyed the video as usual. I was going to ask your name but I see the Mrs. said Aaron was having trouble starting the fire, so now what's the Mrs. name? It you are ever in the market for a good camp stove (just in case you can't get a fire) my husband and I bought the Camp Chef Everest 2X. It is the best on the market. A little pricy but with 20,000 BTUs per burner it can't be beat, and doesn't go out on a windy day.
Hey Martha, thanks for watching! The Mrs is Betey, and thanks for the suggestion, we might check it out in the future. We have some Coleman propane stoves that we usually bring just in case but they only put out 10k BTU.

@@2withnature the cooking tools maybe. I’ve never cooked with an iron skillet. Do you need to remove it from the heat ever so often?
I usually remove it to add spices or something that might take more than a few seconds so the fire doesn't burn our hands.

My dad used to take me camping there as a kid, that's where I grew up. We used to camp there, Pelee Island, South Bass Island, and Middle Sister Island all summer.

They're hard to find. We look at google maps and look for locations generally over 6500 feet

Yup, every time. We charge all our lights and camp electronics off of it. It's been very handy.
So were those buckwheat flapjacks?
No, mostly oats and a decent amount of flax seeds. We use oat groats and grind them up at home into a fine meal.

No, we've never tried those. What are they made out of?
@@2withnature Mostly a combination of coconut flour, tapioca flour and almond flour.. They're pretty good. I'm not strictly keto or paleo myself. I just try a lot of things out of interest.
They sound heavy. They probably would be good for camping. We'll try them sometime
