Great conversation with Sting Ray. I look forward to the season with you two on the same team. Constructive criticism when interviewing: Try to resist the urge to keep talking after asking a question. Example at 43:50 - A question was asked, followed by more talking. The original question was never answered. A different question was asked at 44:45.
That was a good conversation with Stingray. Since Graham Hill became part of the show, here is a funny story about him that year. At the victory banquet we was very funny and really had the audience laughing. Keep in mind he was British and sounded like it. As part of his victory speech he said, "It seems they have developed a contraceptive pill for men. You put it in your shoe and it makes you limp." The broadcast switched to a shot of the audience. About half were laughing, and about half, including several of the driver's wives were clearly struggling to get what he had just said. That was probably the funniest moment in the history of the Victory celebration. And that was a very risque story to get on the air back in 1966, but it was live TV.
I’ve looked forward to this interview with Sting Ray 57:51 . Thrilled that you guys seem to have developed a cordial relationship, that will make for a great year. A touch of magenta 🤞🏻would really pop on your livery. BTW - I love the Ricky Treadway Random IndyCar Driver segment.
I still have my shirts from the Shirts For America deal in 2016. That was an amazing thing from Pat McAfee. He’s said his wife is a huge IndyCar fan, so hopefully he stays involved in one way or another.
Cars look amazing. The weird tension/discomfort between you two was there but as the interview went on it washed away. Looking forward to this season. Sting Ray seems solid.
Let's hope Sting Ray is right and his 3rd season comes alive. A teammate that you can bounce info off of is invaluable....nvm 10ish million. Thanks fellas for the episode, see you next slay session Conor.
Oh man!! The 78 car looks waaaayyyyy faster! haha. Sooo happy everything is coming together! With all the crap that's already happened this year, I am so looking forward to seeing the #78 tear it up on the high side, throw it in on the low line, and make some Indycar history. Let's F&%$ing GO.
LOVE how the White, Gray, and Green have been incorporated into the livery.. You can see how the two cars differ on the outer front / rear wings and rear sidepod with paint colors.. Nice touch.. Adding the Gray in the JHR logo is very appealing too.. LFG Connor.. SO MUCH to be excited about.. Can't wait to see you in St. Pete.. It's my one fly away race every year and know that I'll be coming to fist bump ya and give you a shout out on all the awesome content you've been putting out as of late.. Keep up the great work..!!!!! The SRR Food Poisoning story was off the charts..!!! (Diaper with White driving suit) LOL Great Stuff..!!!
Conor, I expect you will have fun leading Sting Ray astray off the track. He is a very articulate young man, and I am glad to see interviews with drivers who are not stars of the series.
He’s a very decent guy. How can you not root for him? Sounds like he’s your typical 2 year driver just learning. He was very gracious and composed. He took the high road. I’m in!
Depending on your definition of "in the paddock", the info I've seen says Stef Wilson is the tallest recent driver. In "100 Days to Indy" he said his spinal fuse would take him down from 6'3 1/2" to 6'3".
Man those cars look amazing! I noticed the BYLT branding on your firesuit, do we the fans need to pressure them into a full sponsorship? Love their shirts.
Well done. Sting Ray showed he's more then some guy with money behind him. I can't wait for the most famous words in motor sports " Drivers start your engines!"
Thank you Producer Bobby for editing in more visuals this episode! My dream is for some sort of collaboration with IMS Museum to include pictures of the randomly selected driver of the week. Probably too time consuming but one can dream...
I know this is going to sound like bullshit, I'm not making shit up like this, I promise, lol. Anyway, the Sat of Portland qualifying, I drove down from the greater Seattle area, as I do every year to my hotel which is by the airport (Radisson). It is also next to a fun Par 3 course I have time for and attend the race, so I went there to play a quick 9. I can't remember his name, but I played with one of the "Goodheart" big wigs (forgot his official title) and his son (his son lives in OR). Great guys, we had a great time, and got to speak highly of Sting Ray. It also came up, as they had informed me of Santino's pole (traffic on I-5 cost me getting to qualifying) that he wasn't sure, didn't *seem like Sting Ray was going back to Foyt (absolutely nothing proprietary was divulged), but there was still interest in sponsorship. I wasn't surprised to see him here at JHR knowing that. Even IF Goodheart isn't a sponsor, that man spoke so highly of Sting Ray, I had that feeling we hadn't seen the last of him. Money talks, and my bullshit is now completed.
Question: How do new drivers handle the hype from the racing media, especially those who don't go to races and don't know much about racing. Specifically nearly every year we have a new driver touted as one of the greatest of all time, will win many races and championships. I'm exaggerating a bit, but not much. This seems like a ton of pressure.
i mean honestly if they dont come to the track at all its hard to take them seriously. I know some folks cant but there is always way more going on beneath the surface and results sheets that you really have to know the sport to understand and report accurately.
Sting Ray seems like such a down to earth dude. Massive respect to him and hope he does well this season
So down to earth he wants to ban porn.
glad you enjoyed the interview!
Great to hear from Sting Ray. Thanks for the interview.
glad you enjoyed it!
Indycar Super Bowl commercial? You got my eyes watering up. 😢 so happy
we certainly hope so! Might be only regional but who knows! hopefully it's national
Mad love and respect to one of the most down earth in the IndyCar paddock and hope he has a breakthrough year being teammates with Conor.
we shall certainly see! hopefully a great year ahead

Good interview, Conor.
glad you enjoyed it!
"Sterling Ray Robb" has a cool royalty sound to it.
That was a good conversation with Stingray.

Great show as always. I really enjoyed the interview with Sting Ray. He seems like a good dude and will benefit greatly from his new teammate.
Looking forward to getting to work

Good show, I like ol C2 and I am getting more and more excited to get this year started
we are all ready to get going that's for sure!
He’s a very decent guy. How can you not root for him? Sounds like he’s your typical 2 year driver just learning. He was very gracious and composed. He took the high road. I’m in!
We’ll certainly see what happens! Good guy for sure
Conor, where can I pick up your new jersey in size large?
we dont have any yet. we will, it just takes time. They'll be available online and at the track I'm sure.
@ConorDaly22 post a link here when you have it and I appreciate all you do. Win one this year 🏆 ✌️ 💪 🏆

Beast ray robb
glad we could have him on this week!
24:39 I didnt even know about this until you mentioned it 😂
Is Sting Ray the tallest guy in the paddock?
probably one of the tallest yeah! not as tall as graham though.
@ConorDaly22 I didnt realize Graham was tall
@@d.d.7287 yeah he is definitely the tallest by quite a bit!

We could always use more support hah but thankful to have them doing our clothing.
We got em!
yes indeed we did!
I want to write a movie oneday called, "When Sting Ray Robb goes to prison". Total sick comedy I'm gathering.. your thoughts?
not sure it would sell hah
Well done. Sting Ray showed he's more then some guy with money behind him.

Haha, that would take too much production work for us 😅 it’s more of a spur of the moment thing
I really like you and rob new paint scheme
thanks!
Stingbert Raybert Robbert
nailed it
See you at St Pete!
See you there!
Funny thing is Sting Ray Robb is a lock for a RTRI5DOTW in like 2075.
I am still trying to figure out what this means lolllll
@@ConorDaly22 LOL...Ricky Treadway Random Indy 500 Driver of The Week. I'm used to condensing for X comments
@ now I get it. Hahaha
Ooo what are they cooking up now

I've been told Conor personally responds to every comment. I don't believe it.
I'm certainly trying to
Daly is a massive downgrade Grosjean is way faster
Hi, I don’t care. Maybe there are more factors at play too. As I’ve said multiple times before. But enjoy hating!
Stop saying overtake. This is the United States. It's called a pass.
lol if you dont like it, dont watch! Very familiar with what country i am in, thank you.
No one cares
@ConorDaly22 nah, I'll keep watching
