    The fact that the dialogue count in the timer is also a problem in my opinion and also the fact that all the wave countain the same ennemy with the same weakness is also a problem for Baton Pass because all your allies use only 1 element and the item to hit with another element is fixed damage (and really shitty at that) which doesn't benefit from the dmg buff of Baton Pass

    • @theemeraldaxel5824
      @theemeraldaxel5824 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is very true, even though I had plenty of time I skipped all the dialogue cause it stressed me out that I wasn't fighting when the timer was ticking down

      As long as you use items to chain baton passes and then have joker be the final baton pass he can do a lot of damage

    The problem is you only get 2 rounds before the robots retreat and basically reset.

    Tips if you don’t want to cheese this boss with tactics like switching to merciless or easy to deal more damage or using DLC personas. (Please just plan better and play the game a little smarter and don’t resort to that)
    First two things are billiards and darts.
    Level up all Baton Passes to lv 3 for the people you will use in the boss fight with darts. Getting them to finish the points automatically levels them up to 3 if you say the right thing.
    Next, level up technical level as much as you can with billiards. There are some steps and to get level 4 and you will need max proficiency social stat. It is very possible as I managed to do it my very first playthrough before the boss fight. This is huge when fighting the big robot at the end with no weaknesses as it allows you to down it and do massive damage. This isn’t just OP for this boss but for the entire game. Take advantage of billiards and darts.
    Next, If you level up the twins to at least level 5 then you can fuse personas MUCH stronger than you with money. (It’s worth it) This can be done as early as Futaba’s palace. They are the only confidant you can raise without passing time, but may require you to spend some money to buy back registered personas for fusions or itemizing. This is why I recommend grinding a little more than you’d like in Mementos…just go when you have a lot of requests and stick around for another 30 minutes to 2 hours after you finish them. (Get ryuji’s auto-kill ability at level 7 before doing this or it will suck and take a lot longer than 30 minute to 2 hours)
    Finally, stalk up on 50 damage elemental items by either crafting or finding in mementos from the money grinding you were doing.
    Use proper items to match the robots weaknesses to down 3 different bots while Baton Passing until doing the 4th and final baton pass to Joker to do an AOE on all of them. (It’s better if you have an overleveled persona from the twins confidant with a higher damage AOE). Most waves I didn’t even need the 2 rounds because I did it in 1. Then use status ailments and technicals on the big guy.
    My first play was on normal difficulty, which I never changed. I found the Okumura fight extremely easy on normal difficulty my first playthrough. I think it was thanks to my planning and these strategies.

      @@Evil.Vicinitycritical damage still makes full damage to the target and knocks them down, technical damage works the same way. The strategy I used was reducing all foes defense, rasing all allies attack, putting all foes to sleep and swipe them all at the same time with Yusuke, it may require some turns of set up, but the only thing that matters is that you don’t die and kill all foes in 1 turn.

    • @HeDoMo3r
      @HeDoMo3r 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The problem arises with difficulty. I've been breezing through the game on hard. And my problem with him wasn't the fact that I didn't use a good strategy. In fact, I came up with one and slightly tweaked it afterwards with the help of wiki by replacing Morgana with Ann, since I don't need Me Patra when I have Makoto do his job with Dekaja. Also Ann had Dekunda, which removed the defence buff.
      And it was still not enough damage. I kept losing because after all I've done to maximize the damage the robots still survived with the miniscule amount of hp, resulting in basically resetting the 5th wave over and over again. And after I lowered difficulty back to normal, I beat him first try.

    This feels like a big cry because the fight is difficult. This stage was one of my favorites of the game, it forced me to write down the weaknesses of each wave to not forget, it forced me to know how to re accommodate my team for each stage and also use ailments, buff and debuff spells as well as items, and even using the one more correctly is a huge factor in the fight. This boss is the highest “strat check” in the game and I am down for more bosses like this one in future games.

    I actually like boss fights that require strategizing and min maxing turns like Okumuras fight did. A lot of the fights even on Hard you can just faceroll as long as you do enough healing between turns the boss will eventually get chipped down. More modern RPG fights need to bring back that optimization formula style of fighting like older titles used to do.

    Kaneshiro was way worse imo, Okumura's fight can go smoothly or terribly dependending on your loadout and strategy, justifying the hate he receives, which also can be said about Kaneshiro's second phase, but Kane's first phase is just a slog, at least Okumura presents an interesthing challenge and gimmick thanks to the weakness exploiting, which shound't be hard to do in most cases, so tl;dr, it's just a matter of perspective and experience with the game, it's ok to hate it, i just think calling it the worst boss in the game is exaggerating a little, but then again, to each their own.

    • @personacheese
      @personacheese  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a very fair perspective brother, thank you for presenting a well written argument, I really enjoyed reading your thoughts - I personally enjoyed Kaneshiro's boss fight, but I can definitely see the similarities between his 2nd phase and the Okumura Fight. You're 100% correct that perspective is everything, everyone will have different views on which mechanics work, what needs to be changed etc etc. I'm just glad we all have a game series that we enjoy so much, I love discussing and analysing these elements of P5 with great people like yourself :)

      @vesi7993 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So true, I was annoyed with the boss my first attempt but after I took bit and made a new strategy and beat him my second go around. It’s not that he’s extremely hard, he just wakes you up from the cont and forces you to use the mechanics the game taught you.
