thank you, Chris. That was a really well put together video. I think I wait till the morning to install version 2. often I will install things right before bed and end up staying up half the night getting something working again. Lol
Thank you for the video, I really want to update, but I wounding if I do that will loss some of my addon or any downloaded from HACS because of configuration.yaml as I'm not good enough in programming to change the yaml files. Do you advise me to update or wait?
In my case, they don't auto update but they do notify you through the Home Assistant notifications and from the Updates section. Check the change logs.
@GavAttackO ok I'm talking about custom integrations/ repositories, not the ones found in hacs already. I keep having to select update information to see them.
I have not gotten the update nor a notification. I am still on HACS 1.34 UPDATE: will be explained from 6:35 onwards BUT: for me there are no updates available running HA on HA OS latest version 2024 08 03 or so - not sure what to do to get that version. No beta user or anything special, just an ordinary installation.
They made the new version look like shit; the old version wasn’t great but it was way better than what they did to it. Leave it to them to make things more complicated and ignore any criticism about it. 🤦♂️
Web scraping is discouraged these days? Well, it's the fundamental core of search engines and a lot of other services. Unless the site has some sort of easy to use and access API or RSS feed (becoming rare), it's often the only way to get information from a website.
I think Hacs is an unfortunate choice of name. The word hack has developed such a negative connotation that a similiarly sounding word has a similiar negative connotation. I work in computer support and whenever someone doesn't like what thier computer is doing they think the've been hacked and we need to fix it.
THANK GOD for YOUR VIDEO!!! I was going INSANE looking for "Front End"

I'm probably missing something, but I've had this kind of hacs interface since at least January when I first installed ha
You probably enabled advanced mode when you first installed.

does it need more RAM resources ? more disk space ? how much ?
video idea: some good recommended addons that anyone can use, tnx!
so far the thing I dont like it that custom integrations don't update automatically, so if a new version gets released it doesnt notify you...

I don't like the new UI, it's a huge mess.
100% agree. I do not like this table layout at all.
Same here, I much prefer the "old" UI...
I really like this new UI, I think it's far more useable than the old one.
I think it’s a mess as well.
I told them that it is horrible, and instead of listening to feedback they kicked me out of the discord. 🤦♂️

You spent the first 4 minutes just reading out their release notes 😕
