i dont know, personally, im a GM guy, and i love the Cobalt SS turbo. although it doesn't have awd, its faster than the r32 and weighs less. its also faster than the focus rs to 60, but i honestly can say that this will be a real competitor to the Cobalt SS and all the sport compact models. GM canceled plans in 2007 to make an AWD Cobalt SS and i do agree, the AWD would have made both of those cars much much better. But all in all, i believe Ford may have just set the bar with the focus RS.
As in the 80ss when the world was in recession the brought you the escort cosworth . It Was a goal for normal people who worked hard . If you had one you had made it . Now here we are all these years later and its the same again . Give me one of these over a Ferrari every day . Chip - air filter - exhaust - sticky front tires and can you imagine the grin on your face . So much Cred well done Ford you done it again . Now forget the recession back to work and start aiming for one of these .
frank2bad, i totally agree. Ford recently launched the upcoming replacement of Focus in Detroit MS, and they planned to make Euro and USDM version exactly the same. By this, I hope quality-wise they can improve. Also rumors had it that the RS will come along, so let's wait and see. Cheers!
These are coming to the US actually. There's a small touring Fiesta group hitting car shows and street fairs showcasing the Euro Ford look. It's a team offshoot of the main brand much like Toyota did with Scion in the US, but without the effort into creating separate branding. So since the "Fiesta Movement", as the group's website is called, is a motion Ford's putting effort into, then the better Focus version surely isn't far behind.
Ford better pay attention to what everyone is saying. We want the Euro Focus and we want it now. Especially the RS. I can't believe I'm saying this but I would actually want one too.
Pretty nice.. Ford Focus has done well in Europe. It didn't do so well here in the US. Probably because Americans look for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times rather than stability around turns, which the Focus handles pretty well.
ya me diras tu donde ves que no lleva las lunas tintadas...en cuantos coches te has subido con los cristales ahumados? si te fijas se ve el cambio de tonalidad entre la ventana del conductor y la de atras
gimme part 2 :PP damn, i've got ford focus 07, but this one, its just great!! 301 hp in focus ??? never dreamed of it. Im curious whats the price of it :)
@MrCooterkiller Dude, why all the hating. Ford North America sells what America buys. What America buys depends on the cost of gas. When gas is cheap, no one wants a Focus or Fiesta and certainly not a pricey Focus or Fiesta. And just to point it out, both the Focus and Fiesta have more than 100bhp and get fantastic gas mileage and are fun to drive and have best in class quality. All for a fair price. You want a lot of fun, get a Mustang GT or a Taurus SHO. Amazing cars for the price!!
The only problem is if you want to push more power out of it! Being 2 wheel drive youre screwed! Plus I wouldn't be surprised if the Quilf explodes on the standard setup. Why didnt they make it 4 wheel drive and loose a bit on the 0 to 60???
I think it should sell worldwide cause the tuning industry is big and growing worldwide . P.S I think direct injection and all-wheel-drive would make it better.
for all the people that keep asking prices and such the starting price in the uk is £24,995! and worth every bastard penny! it comes in 3 colours green based on the ford lemans car of the old days costing £695, blue which i think it looks best in as it compliments the black trim best costing £395 and white which will be the only colour that does NOT cost.
What about the great WRC record of the RS. It won the WRC manufactures championship two years in a row, and with this car, Ford has just recently become the most successful car manufacturer in the history of the event with 75 wins The fans have been waiting for an RS Focus for years and Ford have rewarded the impatient fans with a car that's worthy of the RS badge. There aren't many made and so every RS owner feels he owns something special. It's a prized possession that few get to experience
@crzygutrsnobrdr , add a test pipe to the RS then. Also, the m35x is AWD, and because it has an engine with a huge displacement you would spend a lot on road tax in Europe.
carrying on from my last comment you get a choice of two seat colours depending on the colour of ur car. green car= black leather Recaro £500 or standard grey middle and green outers and White + blue car= black leather £500 or standard blue outer and grey inner. der is also a choice of two luxury packs. 1= £750 and 2= £1,500 one other litle fact is it goes from 31-62 mph in 4th gear takes 5.3 sec i kno everythin bwt dis car i fookin love it any1 wan2 no anythin jus ask me :)
It's not necessarily Ford per say. This thing wouldn't pass emissions or crash safety standards here in the US. Ford would have to remove a bunch of power and add a bunch of weight to import a RS (i.e., the Vauxhall Astra vs. the Saturn Astra).
I agree. I would definatly be interested in owning one. Have you seen the Focus Cabriolet? It's beautiful!!... It's shame... I'm tired of left overs from the Big Three. The ones that are poorly built/designed, inefficient, and unreliable!
@badmelon18 Because if they do the FRS become another 4WD with no particulary characteristics for her. As a FWD, she is very different from an Impreza or an Evo, and a lot more powerful than a Megane RS or even a Seat Cupra R.
@ JonEldred "you could probably buy one of THESE" im guessing u are talking about the cars in the video, there are only 3, one is a BMW. So what car in that vid could u buy and still have money leftover to put in it so that its more "rally worthy" than a WRX
@mituc huge displacement? a 3.5 v6 is pretty small compared to almost all sports cars. You will get only about 10-15 hp from that test pipe, the only reason I did it because its my daily driver so it gave me a tid bit better gas millage. Im just saying with all of that power etc. they are boasting, their 0-60 time isant impressive at all.
If you read what Jost Capito of Team RS said you'd know its not coming to the USA, this was his answer to the US It was officially confirmed by Jost Capito, the man in charge of Fords global performance division, that the new and awesome Focus RS will not make it to the U.S. due to the fact that it is not homologated for North America! Wed like to, but the base car isnt homologated for North America and thats too costly a job to carry out just for a niche vehicle like the RS, said Capito.
If ford brought this car to the states, the blue oval would have a legitimate contender to the likes of the Honda Civic Si, the Mazdaspeed 3, the VW GTI, et. al. It would probably need a smaller engine, as well as a lower price tag. Ford would still have the mustang and the upcoming SHO to complete in the $30K+ range. I think a car like this, along with the SHO, is what Ford needs to 'stimulate' its sales and bail itself out (though I guess it's currently doing the best out of the big 3).
i think the exact same thing, slap 30k in my hand and i will walk straight into mitsubishi and get the evo, but if the rs was 4wd i will re direct into ford
Like the design and it's a cool Hatchback design and Neon Lime Green needs to be back in every sports car!!!!
Why can't all Insideline videos be like this?
Nice review.
i dont know, personally, im a GM guy, and i love the Cobalt SS turbo. although it doesn't have awd, its faster than the r32 and weighs less. its also faster than the focus rs to 60, but i honestly can say that this will be a real competitor to the Cobalt SS and all the sport compact models. this really looks like a helluva fun to drive
Damn 300 hp and it looks better than any Honda, Toyota, or Mazda available. Why isn't this in America yet? Its 100% practical looks and fun
@O2N2Concepts He actually said Ford's crack Performance division fyi
frank2bad, i totally agree. Ford recently launched the upcoming replacement of Focus in Detroit MS, and they planned to make Euro and USDM version exactly the same. By this, I hope quality-wise they can improve. Also rumors had it that the RS will come along, so let's wait and see. Cheers!
Can't wait for Part 2.

The U.S. closets one was the SVT. That only lasted 3 years in the Market. I'm not a Ford Guy but this Focus is the Type R for Ford!
there is but you will need to search Skymotoring, because that's what this vid was from, not Insideline
focus ftw! bloody love them :D
@O2N2Concepts no offense, but I think he said crack performance, not crap performance division :)
that's a nice and sporty compact focus, the rally-bred
Wesley C the last proper rally bred ford was built in January 96.
i have an ST and i love it, i think this one would be a little bit better, and love those RECARO seats.!!!!
that focus is awsome
@FiestaGFJ thanks but it was not me who said it was built in the usa
i got the ST, and you usually need no radio. only listen to the engine with sound composer. RS has the best front axle geometry
Glorious Volvo Sound!
Ford better pay attention to what everyone is saying. We want the Euro Focus and we want it now. Especially the RS. I can't believe I'm saying this but I would actually want one too.
I love this car!
The RS isn't all about going fast in a straight line, but once you get going it's really quick. And in those corners you'd get owned in a S4.
its a complete different class...and this is brand new.
Pretty nice.. Ford Focus has done well in Europe. It didn't do so well here in the US. Probably because Americans look for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times rather than stability around turns, which the Focus handles pretty well.
Ford Focus SVT was a hot seller in its day, no doubt if this was introduced in America, it would sell like hotcakes.
ya me diras tu donde ves que no lleva las lunas tintadas...en cuantos coches te has subido con los cristales ahumados? si te fijas se ve el cambio de tonalidad entre la ventana del conductor y la de atras
@Tmaster11788 if they brought it to the us they said it would have to be around 35k and i dont think that they will sell in high numbers
cant wait for this car to come to america
gimme part 2 :PP damn, i've got ford focus 07, but this one, its just great!! 301 hp in focus ??? never dreamed of it. Im curious whats the price of it :)
it's cool. how can i get RS in japan?
Hey the steering wheel is on the left side.. are they going to bring it to the states?
I'll take one. Hope it comes to the States.
It is special , it is fast and i can assure you it sticks to the road .
Gotta say it gets turbulance at 165!

@Tmaster11788 its coming to the US soon google it
@xXOrderAndChaosXx LIKED!..... It works for me at any time I pause the video. How did you find this out?
Awesome car BTW
Love it!!!!
increible ford me encanta quiero unoooooooooo
@RSTBADBOY Was the ST pretty much the EUR version of the U.S.'s SVT Focus?
they don't use a handbrake, they use flicks.
The engineers said they had tried an AWD setup, but this FWD setup won in nearly everything
My favourite colour by far
Really, Have you seen WRC results in the last 3 years?
for all the people that keep asking prices and such the starting price in the uk is £24,995! and worth every bastard penny! it comes in 3 colours green based on the ford lemans car of the old days costing £695, blue which i think it looks best in as it compliments the black trim best costing £395 and white which will be the only colour that does NOT cost.

is this the 2nd part on youtube ?
is this the exact same car on the exact same road as the 5th gear test?
@Tmaster11788 why is the mustang not in the uk. its not fair
Yeaaah, i love the sound, and it comes from an Volvo T5 engine :-)
There should be a big "POWERED BY VOLVO" sticker on the car hood. ^^
@crzygutrsnobrdr , add a test pipe to the RS then. Also, the m35x is AWD, and because it has an engine with a huge displacement you would spend a lot on road tax in Europe.
lol. what do you mean? love stis by the way..not too fond of the new '08s/'09s, but they're one of my favorites.
have you heard that subaru withdrawed from WRC?
carrying on from my last comment you get a choice of two seat colours depending on the colour of ur car. green car= black leather Recaro £500 or standard grey middle and green outers and White + blue car= black leather £500 or standard blue outer and grey inner. der is also a choice of two luxury packs. 1= £750 and 2= £1,500 one other litle fact is it goes from 31-62 mph in 4th gear takes 5.3 sec i kno everythin bwt dis car i fookin love it any1 wan2 no anythin jus ask me :)

I am wondering, I want to make my focus faster. any ideas? i like those seats in the RS too. ugh Im disgusted I want that car. :'(
kinda looks like a 08 STi and the X mixed would look nice in a nice white =]
@JerzeySwagify
In Europe all the cars have their steering wheel on the left except the UK.
1. that is very good looking.
2. a decently performing ford!
yea it is fwd but regardless, i'd take it over a lot of other fwd cars... like the si.
I agree. I would definatly be interested in owning one. Have you seen the Focus Cabriolet? It's beautiful!!... It's shame... I'm tired of left overs from the Big Three. The ones that are poorly built/designed, inefficient, and unreliable!
thats a nice car!
I want to drive this, I own a Chevy cobalt ss/tc. I wanna see what ford did
my favorite hatch :D
honestly this would be the only ford id actually consider owning
is the Focus RS or ST better? and why?
@badmelon18 Because if they do the FRS become another 4WD with no particulary characteristics for her. As a FWD, she is very different from an Impreza or an Evo, and a lot more powerful than a Megane RS or even a Seat Cupra R.
than have the black option :) it looks superb
Cuz this is a bad ass car!
@jonray74 the new mustangs are getting 30 mpg and higher
it's designed, engineered and built in Germany. Not as easy to prepare it for US market and ship it to US as you might think.
@ JonEldred
"you could probably buy one of THESE" im guessing u are talking about the cars in the video, there are only 3, one is a BMW. So what car in that vid could u buy and still have money leftover to put in it so that its more "rally worthy" than a WRX
this car is so sexy love it in this colour aswell although the white one isn't bad
the 2011 car will be sold here...along with the RS/SVT version...
because they are places called a race track.
@mituc huge displacement? a 3.5 v6 is pretty small compared to almost all sports cars. They find it right to compare a FWD RS to an AWD evo, WITHOUT throwing in an STi???
i had to try and squeeze it all in thats why its like that!
thks jizgil-san.

actually that is the exact reason why ford doesn´t sell that car in the us although in mexico they do
@xMartysx Do you have a modern car :S
I've never seen it in the States, but I've seen it in a dealer in Mexico!!!
Like the Skyline in Canada!!!
lol, why does everyone hate us.
thks a lot !
Why does it sound like base Mustang from 2011?
@ptrkth30 There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Vovlo 5 is solid as hell, but Ford should give credit where credit is due.
@milosiev haha you gotta work hard to play hard! I work like 60hrs a week and spend a majority of time at my office working.
Have you ever been to Germany?
This is exactly why ford doesnt need any stimulus from the US government...its because there cars are good enough to actually support the company
inspired test!
Different view is Mitsu EVO ? Cmon now , maybe Megane or Clio RS but EVO:... I dont think so....
new RS looks good.
I'll take 135i thanks.
why don´t they make a RS with awd?
ok,thanx
i think the exact same thing, slap 30k in my hand and i will walk straight into mitsubishi and get the evo, but if the rs was 4wd i will re direct into ford
I wish they'd bring the RS to North America.
awsome
Dieses Auto ist der Hammer
