I think a very long time ago, Disney used to hand stamp as well to come back in. I have not been to Universal since about 8th grade and I am now 40. A lot has been added/changed since I was there. And I am thinking of going next year, taking the kids.

Greetings ! Haven’t been to the Hollywood park but I like the look of it and the upper lower level is a cool feature. I live in south Florida so go to Universal Orlando often . I’ll give the Florida location the edge as the have Islands of Adventure and so many on site hotels and the water taxis . I think the Hollywood City Walk seems bigger . The Toothesome Chocolate Emporium is my fav restaurant at the Orlando park . Can’t wait for Epic Universe to open next year. Awesome walkthrough sir ..😎😎😎

@@SoCalDisneyDad Velocicoaster is great. One of my favorites. I think you’ll like it . There’s an excellent sit down restaurant in Islands of Adventure called Mythos that I love and is rated high .

@@anthonylagano We ate there in 2021. We enjoyed it. Probably won’t repeat this visit because we want to try some new places, but we definitely enjoyed it.

Three hours isn’t too bad we live up in Napa California, we’re exactly 5 1/2 to 6 hours away even though we are annual passholders at Disneyland looking forward to hitting Universal soon and going to Harry Potter world

It's not terrible, no. But I have major trouble driving at night with nodding off and things after a busy park day, so I need a hotel any time I go so that I don't have to wake up at 4-5 AM AND get home at 11 PM. And so it just becomes a cost thing. It's not as easy as driving up to Disneyland and back where my only cost is gas.

@@SoCalDisneyDad I completely agree we’ve done that and we would stay in Anaheim for about four days and on the fifth day we would spend about three to four hours in the park and then I would drive home and it’s a struggle trying to stay awake driving 5 1/2 hours back home up north. Thank you for all you do I came across your page a little over a year ago and we’re always looking forward to your next video and always seeing you and your wife and the kids at the park when you post your videos, we always enjoy when you do reviews on food and history on the park itself. Looking forward to the next time we’re in the park. Hopefully we’re able to run into you and say hi.

Hey disney dad! Me and my family are lookimg into a night stay at the nite inn near universal. Just wondering if you know, do we have to take the shuttle to the park? if so do they take strollers? Thanks 😎

That would be a question for the hotel itself. The only hotels, to my knowledge, that have a shuttle to Universal are the Hilton and Sheraton right there near Universal.
Anything else and you might need to take public transport to the MTS station (or whatever it’s called) at the bottom of the hill and take the tram up to the top.
I imagine the tram will allow a stroller folded up.

Universal Studios is always less busy than Disneyland. At least on this coast. Orlando is a different story.
I've never felt like I needed Express Pass here. And you can comfortably get everything done without rushing about. It is an enjoyable experience for a single day, but nothing longer.
The two most crowded places are Hogsmeade and Super Nintendo World.

There’s not enough stuff at Universal to spend a whole day in either lot unless you want to ride everything 2-3 times each.
There are 4 total rides in the lower lot. That’s it.

@@Zee-mu1zj Every time I’ve gone so far, I’ve been able to accomplish the entire park in a single day without rushing about. This is a nice leisurely pace.
The lower lot contains Revenge of the Mummy, Transformers, Jurassic World, and Mario Kart. Reasonably, the biggest time consumer in the lower lot is the games in Super Nintendo World and Mario Kart itself if you do not do early entry (about 70 minutes on average).
Even if every ride was an hour long (they shouldn’t be. About 30-40 on average), you’d reasonably finish everything in the lower lot by 1-2 PM if you started there at park opening. More than likely, you’ll finish it much faster than that.
The upper lot contains Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, Simpsons Ride, Studio Tour, Minion Mayhem, and Secret Life of Pets.
A good time estimate to complete all that, including the length of the studio tour (60 minutes) is about 5 hours.
Now, I’ve never done Water World. So that should be factored in if you’re interested.
But all said, I think a single day is fine. However, if you’re worried and want to do a second day, that’s fine. I just wouldn’t confine yourself to a single lot. Just enjoy the whole park both days. Repeat some things the second day you enjoyed the first.

Since you mention Get Away Travel. Does it sound right that they might have VIP tickets that Universal is sold out of? I am nervous to book from them to find out that it is sold out and then I am stuck.

@@LiZEgan-s2i They are a legit site. Great people. Give them a call on Monday. They’re super friendly and they’ll tell you what’s available and if they have any special stock or anything.

@@LiZEgan-s2i You could book it and then still call them tomorrow. It looks like their ticket packages might be refundable if you happen to purchase the wrong thing. But if you are nervous about selecting the right package, I’d wait until you can call them.
If it’s exactly what you want, you’re just worried about availability, then it doesn’t hurt to book because I doubt they have something listed that’s not available. And even if it turns out to not be from some technology fluke, they aren’t going to steal your money. They’re a reputable company.

Do you know if universal gets as busy as Disneyland during the summer time?

I went to Universal in July last year and rode everything in a single day without Express.
I also don’t think Disneyland is all that crowded in the Summer these days. The tickets are more expensive, so people are visiting in the off-season and there is no more off-season.
Additionally, 2 out of 4 annual pass levels are blocked out all Summer. So September/October are usually way busier than the Summer the last year or two especially.

Can I ask what Time of day it was when you went to Mario land? I’m debating on rope dropping versus end of the day. I noticed the early entry tickets are sold out for our date - which makes me believe Mario land might be really busy in the morning… tips?

I went through there at about 1 PM. And in my opinion, if you can’t do early entry, then the last hour before the park closes is the best time.

@@SoCalDisneyDad yeah we go in two days and I’ve been watching wait times on the app and morning definitely has the longest lines. Even right at open, it had 100 min wait today! It seems to die down after 1pm. So we will wait until later in the day 👍

I read there is a tram that will drive you down. My mum walks with a walking frame and i have crippling vertigo so i really hope there are other options 🙈
