This episode reminded me why Poet is key. These guys story wasn't adding up at all and they was contradicting themselves and Alhan nearly left it like it wasn't an issue. Poet actually asks people to elaborate and explain.
Alhan already made his mind up like halfway through - he kept the money at the end to see how they would react. If they let him keep it maybe it shows they are genuine but they said they had the wedding that day so they needed it but if they took it back it shows they ain't. He knew what he was doing.

This church was started by a businessman who was VERY smart. He saw a way of brainwashing young people (through wealth and materialism) and in exchange, he has gained some LOYAL followers who will try to convert others and bring them to him. I'm very sure that by "helping" these young people and gaining more followers through outreach work, he is benefiting in SOME way behind the scenes - perhaps through community business as was suggested: money is always in circulation amongst the congregation. Another thing, you'll never be able to tell me that the glorification of wealth alongside a holy book is normal, OK or respectful. Shout out to Poet for his realness on this one. It doesn't make sense and those SPAC members did not give good and solid answers to any of the questions they were asked.

DoYa Dirty is right it isn't about love its actually desire - meaning having desire for material things that become so strong one becomes weak and thus willing to do anything to get it. Money is just a peice of paper i.e. a promisary note. It's part of a system used to keep African nations oppressed from their own natural resources, and wealth which nature provided right under their feet to help them advance without external interference. Why do you think so many African countries on the continent and in the diaspora are kept in conditions of poverty, for so long?

I have never heard Poet hit the nail on the head so hard. Everything about the marketing, consumerism, peoples perception etc was spot on. These man got found out differently, like people aren't smart enough to realise leading figures in religious institutions are caking off the system via gullable and vulnerable worshippers. Could go on for longer but that's a next convo!
Pulled my girl outta that place when she invited me to see how wonderful it was. What a mix up it really is, a five hour service, people calling the Pastor Sir, the same man has many of them young lads living in his home calling him daddy , some have changed their surname to the pastors name. Males and females of the church are not allowed to meet members of the opposite sex without going via the pastor for permission. My daughters friend felt like the scum of the earth when the pastor told her she was not good enough or Godly enough to meet with one of his young pastors.
Everything about it was wrong. Congregation holding hands and screaming FIRE at the top of their voices, people dropping like flies ( touched by the holy spirit) People screaming , and speaking in tongues, which all sound the same , like a newly learnt rap song. I grabbed my jacket to leave , but couldn't concentrate enough to be sure i wouldn't step on a young person on the ground.
Young people borrowing money to pay the monthly donation, envelopes with boxes to tick , saying £200 or £200+ . Music ,cash and materials are all top of the list and thats what makes it so appealing, plus the sense of "belonging" it brings, which so many of our young people crave these days . The pastor once preached that if your folks have less than 5 grand in the back they cant tell you anything because they are foolish.
There is something very sinister going in behind the scenes here and i cant wait for it to be exposed, what happens in the dark will always come out in the light

Poet definitely took the interview down the right lines but so much more needed to be asked and spoken about. The other guy wasn’t serious at all. I really was getting frustrated with the interview it was almost as if the frudsters prepped you on the only topics that could be spoken about.
