Enugu Rangers international football of Nigeria brought plenty joy for Ibos after disastrous failure of Great Biafran Republic. It was and still my darling club that inspired to play football. I remember watching them train on a field not far from achara layout where they camp. I cannot forget the day ( 1975) we (Rangers Int) lost the then African Champions league final to Hafia of Guinea at the main bowl of our National Stadium, Sururele ( 2-1). We went up 1 via penalty. Hafians came back to beat us on our sacred ground. That was a very sad me and my Ibos. It was so for me that I refused my best ukazi dish, which my mum cooked snails. Opkuroko plus other ingredients. I could still the names of Emeka Onyedika, Ogidi Ibuabuchi, Alloy Atugbu( aka blockbuster), Okechukwu Osima, Silvanus Okpara( aka quick silver), Stanley Okoronkwo( banana man) , Nwabuezi Nwankwo, Chimeze Nagdi, Xtian Madu, Jude Agada and Emmanuel Okala( aka Man mountain) and of Chairman Xtian Chukwu. It is good to see this new Rangers put string of passes. I am very happy.
