I've been trying out the 22 inch Gaomon PD2200 for a few weeks, and as an alternative to the ruinously more expensive Wacom models of similar size, it stacks up pretty well, with a few notable caveats.

I picked this up for myself not long before your review, and my experience matches yours pretty much 1:1. The abysmal response rate is my only real gripe, but since my primary monitor is an ASUS ProArt, that's not a major issue.
There is one great unadvertised feature of this that I'd like to share: The PD2200 shares the same driver and stylus as Gaomon's S620 and M10K graphic tablets, which means I can draw on the PD-2200, and control the cursor on the other monitor with the S620, without letting go of the stylus. This was a trick I managed with my old 21UX Cintiq and the Intuos 3 The only catch is that unlike the Wacom drivers, there's no remapping options for the S620 outside of choosing which monitor it controls. As far as I can tell, there are no XP-PEN or Huion models that share pens across the tablet/screen product lines.

One thing (perhaps the only thing) that stand out is the little feet on the stand... Other brand doesn't have it (they only have a single big feet)... Though IDK if I ever used those little feet...

BTW, at that price range, why not instead buy Huion or XP-Pen? They are only a little bit more expensive (about 100USD or so) but they are so much better in quality.
I can't decide between this, a Huion Kamvas 22, or ponying up some more for a Huion Kamvas 24 Pro 2k. I don't think I can justify a $2000+ Cintiq for now. I've had a Yiynova mvp22u for almost 7 years now and it's showing its age, plus requiring a battery in the pen is annoying and the pen is fragile. Already broken it once tightening it down just a tad too much after replacing the battery.

I think he said that before doing youtube fulltime, he used to do some illustrator work and draw comics, but now he is pretty much a full time youtuber.

I am not an artist. I am not a designer. For the minimal amount of graphics I need for my programming pet projects I just make pixelarts and got a small old wacom.

Just my opinion, but I don't see how you can list that "its not a monitor" as a con!!! ITS NOT A MONITOR.. Its A DRAWING/TEACHING TABLET!!! Nowhere do they advertise it as a monitor.. This tablet lives up to everything it advertises it is.. And on mine, the mouse trailing is no worse than it is on my laptop (I'll update this if it changes when I order my new laptop this week).. And if the other brand can be used as a monitor and thats why you said something about it, well, I say to that.. Thats why they cost north of $1,200 and this cost $400.. Not sure the ability to use as a monitor for just a 22" is worth an extra $800..
You go on and on about it not being a monitor and not one mention about parallax which would have been nice. your reviewing a drawing tablet, we've got all the monitors we want cheap.
$500 is affordable? Jesus...
Compared to the general price of comparable products, yes. It's definitely still expensive, just less expensive
