"everything ends, you wont ascend" has to be the most chilling lyric, sums up so well all of Isaacs trauma. His struggle to cope with the loss of the way things used to be with his mom and dad, and his fear that he is to blame and fear of god, seeing himself as a sinner or a devil.
Aaaaaaaa I love when people notice things like this! That line and "gasping for air, struggle to breathe" were some of the first ones I had solid because they capture the two major things that sum up Isaac as a whole at that moment. His life is ending, he can't breathe, and he thinks that everything is all his fault as he is a demon incarnate. Isaac is a small child who has had far too much weight put on his shoulders and has no idea how to cope with it all.
I love that Kyle, Darby and Meg seem to be playing separate roles at first, but are ultimately still ALL Delirium, as if it's created a chorus of its own body to make its point clear as desert air.
They did do absolutely amazing jobs at their voices. The blending of the three in their chaotic harmony embodied Delirium so well and I couldn't have asked for my lyrics to have better vocalists if I tried.
I love the line "No matter how you choose to look at this." Because, whether you intererpt Binding of Issac as a mental representation of trauma, or something that is physically happening in real life, it never ends well for Issac.

Little late to getting this posted, but still want to get my writers inspiration comment done! Delerium was a rather interesting song to work on. After I did Greed I wanted to look at what other songs were popular and by far in a way Delirium fit that bill. It was at the time of it's inception THE big bad of the game. Representing Isaac's manifestation of his imminent death and what little bit of his sanity that was left slipping away from him. A lot of elements of this song were written taking all this into account, Deliriums unknowable nature, the death of Isaac and the loss of his mind, as well as the culmination of everything. To capture some of that I had the idea that Delirium would function kinda similar to Lavos from CTtM, three voices all being part of the whole. However, unlike Lavos where the voices are working in unison with each other, Delirium is complete chaos, never working together and harmonizing in their broken way. The main thing that the voices try to convey is the hopelessness of it all, "there is no hope" "you didn't matter" and so on. I really wanted to lean on the aspect of, Isaac enters the chest because he believes he is the cause of every problem, it's his fault his dad left, it's his fault his mother is sad, (potentially) it's his fault that his mother never brought home the baby brother she talked about, in Isaac's mind EVERYTHING is his fault. With that I wanted to run with the idea that everything in the game is how he manifests every "sin" he has committed. Going on the bible side of things, I wanted to find a way to blend that with the experience of childhood trauma and how it effects something. Since those are aspects that Ed has stated played a big part in this game, I felt it appropriate to blend the games story, the song, and even some of my own experiences together to make one disjointed yet cohesive experience. Isaac is shown to have been raised very Christain/Catholic and because of that he has probably above average knowledge of Bible stories. He manifests the seven deadly sins in various ways as part of him, he believes the angels while wanting to save him also want to punish him, and of course above all, believing that his mother plans to sacrifice him in the name of God. All of this mixed together to me just blends into the various lyrics I made, the chants of the sins, that compared to death/God he is nothing, that all he is is a broken crying child. With the chanting chorus, I had the idea that they represent Isaac's intrusive thoughts, always nagging him that he isn't enough, always saying the worst possibilities, and of course manifesting as his "sins" moments before death. I don't quite know how well it comes across, but in the non singing portions of the song the whispers were written to be "various intrusive thoughts", while he's they are quite, they are many, and their whispers are maddening to anyone, especially a small child. I know for ones I responded at least, all of them were me using the medium to reflect my own intrusive thoughts, the demons that plague my own mind just like Isaac's do. It's a small detail but one I really wanted to blend in. I might comment more lore snippets as I think of them, but for now, that's some of the big things for this song. Now for compliments. Kyle, Darby, and Meg absolutely NAILED IT on the three aspects of Deliriums voice. Darby especially caught a type of voice I hadent expected honestly because when I wrote it the faster voice was just meant to be a "deep voice", but when I heard Darby's almost metal singing for it I was in love. Now don't take that as I don't enjoy the other two voices as much, because I really do! Kyle for the primary singing voice was a delight to hear with the more "normal" tones it brings compared to it's counterparts. And Meg really captured just such a chilling tone of voice with the high notes in Deliriums lines. All of the people in the chorus did such an amazing job as well! The invasive whispers, the chanting, and the echoing chorus are all just absolutely magnificent and tie the whole thing together in just such a wonderful way. Darby also did such a wonderful job on the video editing as well as the singing! He had mad a really great rough draft on first pass and somehow the footage I had given him corrupted itself and was absolutely crap quality. Luckily he was patient with me while I struggled to get another Delirium fight to spawn so I could get him the nice crisp art you see here. It also was a blessing in disguise because I had the last second thought of adding the cutsceen footage as well as the 7 sins fights and the way Darby edited them was beautiful! The ending especially it gives me chills the way he edited Isaac's last moments together. And if you haven't seen the whole cutsceen, he even made sure you'll have a nice surprise when you play the game yourself. Of course with art Junebirb did such a wonderful job and when I first saw it I was more excited than I had been before. I guess I'm alone here, but for as much as I love this whole song I never felt like Delirium was an antagonistic force, they always read more as ambivalent to me, The Lamb is the antagonist, they roar and threaten, to quote four souls, they will devourer your soul, but Delirium just Isn't in my eyes, they are memories crash together as Issacs mind implodes in on itself, but they are also the light at the end of the tunnel, I feel like this song, lyrics wise is much more like things the lamb would say, to me Delirium would be more, frantic and somber, tragic even, but not hostile, that's just an opinion though and I still love this song with all my heart.
Some comment's already brought it up and the Moti is aware of the issue but I am writing this comment purely to give a bit more detail and attention to a mistake that happen in this video. There was a switch up in the Credits where Danny Baranowsky is given credit for the Track of Delirium. However Delirium was made by Ridiculon which are responsible for the entire rebirth soundtrack. Now how has this happen? Simple. Previous songs from Isaac covered by this channel were from "The binding of Isaac", the version with that Isaac started out as. It was a Flash Game created during a game jam in 2011 which was later released on steam without much expectation of success. Danny Baranowsky was the music composer behind this version of the game and its DLC "Wrath of the Lamb" In 2014 The binding of Isaac Rebirth was released which ran on a better game engine and had a new polished artstyle. This is the version with all its DLC you are most likely familiar with. With this new release the music composer was changed as Edmund wanted a bleaker soundtrack for the atmosphere. Ridiculon is a metal band made out of "Matthias Bossi" and "Jon Evans". They created the entire soundtrack from Rebirth until the current day of Repentance which is the last DLC that was released as off me writing this comment. So the crew of Moti missed this switch of composers and basically copy pasted the composer Danny Baranowsky from their previous Isaac songs over. A honest mistake that can happen to the best of us. In summary: In total The Binding of Isaac has 3 music composers through out its life. -Danny Baranowsky the original composer which left behind a much beloved soundtrack -Ridiculon whom are the current composer's for Isaac and all its DLC's -And Mudeth who I really need to squeeze in here. He was the composer for the Tboi Antibirth mod which was a mod for rebirth that released 2 weeks prior to Afterbirth+ which would have introduced mod support (which ended in failure). The Antibirth mod was so beloved that Edmund decided to work the Antibirth mod Team to create the latest DLC Repentance. However none of Mudeths Soundtracks were carried over. He however still made a entire second Album which was released as a mod on the workshop. It is one of the most subscribed Mods in the workshop. So the binding of Isaac Repentance has 2 whole versions of a soundtrack. While Danny Baranowsky's soundtracks are also optional mods Danny has not worked as far as I know to make a second album so his soundtrack can only cover 40% of all the games content and area's.

All of the songs have been great and showing a lot of great work from everyone!
You are a Saint for giving lyrics to one of my most favorite bosses in gaming history
YES MORE BINDING OF ISAAC!!!! I hope he does innocence glitched next that would be amazing
This was FAR beyond what I ever could have expected! Well done!
I really like this cover. Excelent job.
I even went and killed Delirium today, while having delirious (accidentally).
ANOTHER BINDING OF ISAAC WITH LYRICS???? YESSS
this is so epic, good job!
The fight: Total random shit and unfair impredictible teleports
The music:😎🎸🎶🎵🎵
I WAS WONDERING WHEN YOU WERE GONNA MAKE ANOTHER ISAAC SONG!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH MOTI!!
The sound of telefragging and mental collapse echoes throughout this brilliant song
I LITERALLY NEED THIS IN SPOTIFY
THIS RIGHT HERE IS INCREDIBLE
Oh I never expected a TBoI cover lol, very good bro
You mean, you never expected ANOTHER tBoI song :)
@@ProfessorMor I see, I said that because I didn't know they did one lol
@@samugames0 totally understand! Yeah we have Greed/Shop Theme as well that I wrote a little while back! It's pretty good you should check it out!
@@ProfessorMor Oh, didn't know that you were in it, will definitely check it too when I can
@@samugames0 yup! I wrote both Greed and Delirium and a few other songs here on the channel! Been in more chorus work total since CTtM times but writing is a passion that I do here ^^
This lyrics version is so awesome that I want it as a mod!
Love the constant assertion that this is the end for Isacc, there's nothing you can do to save him.
When I was thinking about it, I imagined Delirium lyrics as absolute mash of words or phrases, which do not match with music at all. But that version works well too I mean.
A refreshing thing to see, and as always awesome
Gives me call of duty zombie vibes idk why. Glad to see an isaac song be covered tho :)
Another amazing moti song
OMG I LOVE THIS BOSS SONG EVEN THO ITS SUPER UNFAIR AND HARD BOSS
I've been waiting for this since Greed came out.
Honestly Delirium was kind of a letdown for what it’s supposed to be, so I’m glad to see you’ve done it justice here
"You...pride...greed...lust...envy...gluttony...Wrath...Sloth."
Hits hard
dont forget "YOU" (Cause isaac sees himself as an 8th deadly sin)
I was NOT expecting this! Happy it is here though.
The mad lad did it. Good Job mate.
Absolutely amazing song for this embodiment of randomness
This whole game is delirious fever dream
Bruh I had a dream a few years ago where you made this song and now it’s real???? What???
Also this is pretty sick lmao
here I was scrolling through TH-cam looking for the Delirium bossfight and then I stumble across this banger
I like this song :)
The feeling of hopelessness and despair is good
On a similar note to Delirium, I'd love a cover of Terminus, AKA the Void's theme.
Fun fact, delirium residents the light at the end of the tunnel and Isaac's life flashing between his eyes
1:50 is the best part of the song
This is really awesome well done man on the internet. But can you pretty please do bloodstained curse of the moon silent howling please? 😊👍😁.
I cannot wait for Revelation 13-1 with lyrics if he gets there
This hits as hard as his wonky hitboxes.
Lately its one banger after another on this channel
Wow! Now I'd live to hear Dogma with the same lyricist and vocals! This is great, but THAT would be even better!
if you ever do another binding of isaac i would love heiter the beasts theme or your innermst apocalypse. this was fantastic! i always enjoy your videos.
When I first encountered this poor boss I had a broken run with the lil harbingers and the chewed leaf
thank you for making this bullshit fight bearable by having this in the background
When it remains to close the alternative lost on diliriume be like :
Definitely a worthy final encounter but not the true final ending encounter if that makes sense
my innermost apocalypse would be godly, near this
My knowledge of Binding of Isaac is slim to none, and slim just went to hell. That said, this song is amazing and I anticipate the Apple Music release. I might actually try the game because of this! Great work as always!
how it's insane & all creepy woah, nice heavy metal
Yes please! More isaac songs!
I LOVE THE SOUND OF AN UNFAIR BOSSES THEME FROM A 5 YEAR OLD HAVING A BREAKDOWN
after so many battles against monster isaac has balls of steel to fight against delirium even though he is scared of him.
OMG IT'S SO COOL!
Has anyone realised that Deliriums voice is the music director for the BoI? Awesome .
I always liked how raw its theme felt
Can't wait for beast and dogma
Perfect song for the most fair and balanced boss in the whole game
I know you never do commisions, and i KNOW you don't do "fangames", but please either do Innocence Glitched (the non-swear version), Misericorde, The Hammer of Pompeii, or Terminal Lucidity
Scratch that, if you're going to do Antibirth at all, just do Allnoise
I can't say that I like every Moty lyrics. But this? Absolutely FIRE. Sad that there's only two TBoI lyrics...
he may be unfair but i think that just shows how much of a threat he is
nice loved this :)
I was wondering when MOTI was gonna make a BoI with lyrics song and here it is
I mean, we already did that before, this is just our second outing for BoI
To be honest I want to see more of this
I guess I'm alone here, but for as much as I love this whole song I never felt like Delirium was an antagonistic force, they always read more as ambivalent to me, The Lamb is the antagonist, they roar and threaten, to quote four souls, they will devourer your soul, but Delirium just Isn't in my eyes, they are memories crash together as Issacs mind implodes in on itself, but they are also the light at the end of the tunnel, I feel like this song, lyrics wise is much more like things the lamb would say, to me Delirium would be more, frantic and somber, tragic even, but not hostile, that's just an opinion though and I still love this song with all my heart.
I like this. Thank you
Amazing job
This was truly a binding of isaac
Danny Baranowsky was the music composer behind this version of the game and its DLC "Wrath of the Lamb"
In 2014 The binding of Isaac Rebirth was released which ran on a better game engine and had a new polished artstyle.
In summary:
In total The Binding of Isaac has 3 music composers through out its life.
-Danny Baranowsky the original composer which left behind a much beloved soundtrack
-Ridiculon whom are the current composer's for Isaac and all its DLC's
-And Mudeth who I really need to squeeze in here.
Hey honestly thank you so much for all this info! I myself wasn't aware of when the team changed songs to catch it before release, with this info though we should hopefully be able to catch it for the future.
