But even though everyone has their say, you're still putting stupid IGNs on the worst and best Mavericks of the X series, and that's the reason they are NOT fond of anything on Mega Man X. If I was brave enough to make a fanfic or animated series to defend them, I will do it with pleasure. Besides, there is no better or worse Maverick. They are unique and special, they are helpful, they possess INFINITE abilities and weaknesses like us humans and were created to collaborate with humanity, NOT for competition. When I look at "the best Mavericks" list, the reasons are I keep hearing is "they look threatening" or "so cool" and I'm tired of hearing it because they did NOT focus on designs that are clever and intelligent (I take Tornado Tonion as an example) and Earthrock Trilobyte was clever looking too, not to laugh at. I can admittedly say that there may be some that are stronger than others, but that doesn't make them terrible. Each one definitely has their own strengths and weaknesses, but all for different and valid reasons. And it's exactly as you say: the Mavericks were meant to help people.
