This shows how one skinner blend can make 5 different veneers with a bargello technique and what I'm calling advanced bargello. Have fun. Please join my Facebook group Katie's polymer clay friends / 589374758258571
I LOVED those 2 that were so vibrant! The rest were lovely, but I am crazy for vivid colors. Thank you for taking the time to explain how to make these very lovely pieces!🩵🤍🩵🏥👍🙃
I am new to polymer clay. I just love the fact that you are teaching these techniques! I love modern art! When I first tried to do polymer clay in the 1990's I did not have such lovely tutorials on video to teach how to do canes and bargello or Mokume Gane techniques. I am so grateful and quite happy that what looks like it is so difficult to do actually has a method that could enable anyone, including inept me, to make beautiful polymer clay canes and veneers! I gave up doing polymer clay in the 1990's for lack of instructions, and am really quite pleased to find so many of your awesome tutorials on You-Tube now!! Thank you so much again, and I hope you will have a wonderful Spring and Summer of 2023!!!
At the beginning of your tutorial you say “ hi, it’s just Katie..”. Just?? You’re an incredible creative and I really enjoy your tutorials and methodology. Thank you for teaching us. 🙏
What a nice variety. My fave is the one where you flipped it. Super cool pattern. I just started playing around with bargellos so you did give lots of ideas. Thanks
I just want to tell you that I really enjoy watching your tutorials. You have great ideas and I appreciate you taking your time explaining step by step. Please keep sharing these videos!❤🌹
I am so happy to have found your channel, I enjoyed this tutorial and your easy directions, will be a watcher and appreciate your thoughtful teachings..💖💖💖🤩🤩🤩😁
Helpful? Priceless!! The one that was "totally flipped" is my personal favourite but they're all super. It's great to see your own ideas develop as we watch. Thank you :)
Very interesting Katie, lots of different results with one skinner blend, love the finished veneers and look forward to the pendants you make with them 😁
Amazing how you can use the one Skinner blend to create such different and pretty veneers. I particularly love the flipped Skinner blend and the checkerboard Skinner blend, with the lovely pastel colourings .... but they're all fab 😊 looking forward to seeing what you do with them. Was glad to see how you made the Skinner blend thinner, in order to get it into a pendant size. I was wondering how it might be possible to get the whole Skinner effect into a single bead, so thank you for that. Loved the video 🤗😊
Wow! Says here there’s 250 something subscribers! Be absolutely amazing if everyone also joined the new Facebook group! More people the more sharing creativity and ideas! I will have to save this because I doubt I have the supplies. I am waiting for an order from Sculpey this week! I hope it’s easy enough that I can try it.Because I only have the use of one hand so far there’s only a few like the Watercolor or torn paper techniques that I can find a way to accomplish.. This looks beautiful but I didn’t see a supply list, that is always helpful! Barbara Adams Gibson Jackson
I guess I've never thought of it other than leaving work w them white at the end of the day esp in winter from washing so much and cracking on my finger tips I never thought of my hands complexion. Well thank u lol
Great design, I've just watched the video where you created pendants out of these. One tip I can offer is I bought a piece of non slip matting and stuck it to the base of my tile I use to work on, it stops it moving around why I'm playing with clay. Xx
Aloha Katie, I found your channel a couple weeks ago. I’m getting a lot out of your videos. I’m looking forward to seeing a video of what you’ll do with the pc bargello’s you made here in this video. They were all very nice. I especially like the last one. Mahalo (thank you). 🌺🤙😎🌈
Hi Katie, I usually watch you on tv so although I always "like" your videos I can't comment. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for being a voice of reason and great jumping off points to create my own designs. I love that you work in your basement and are so REAL about your process. It is relaxing and informative to watch you. Just wanted to say a sincere thank you for all you contribute to the polymer clay community and how much I enjoy your videos. xo
This is amazing!!! During this time of being home I have been throwing myself into clay and love love your videos. I am going to make some of these tomorrow, I have so many ideas I’m very excited, thank you so much ❤️
Everytime I try to do these types of techniques (checkerboard or bargello) I cannot for the life of me get the strips/squares to stick together.. no matter how much burnishing I do. Whenever I try to move the slab, or even move my cut pieces the squares fall apart. I'm using fimo and sculpey premo too.
It depends on your clay. I use Kato and it doesn't like to sit around in a veneer for more than about 2 weeks. The veneers made with softer clays will probably last longer. It also depends on the thickness of your veneer. You can also try warming your veneer if it's been sitting around for a while. It's good to experiment with the clay you have.
In my line of work I can't really wear bracelets so I dont tend to make them if they r just gonna sit around. But there are tons of bracelet making videos on yt. Pretty much any cane or veneer I have used can be placed on a Bracelet

thank you for inspiring us :) one q ; how long can we keep a veneer before cutting it and baking

@@katiegordon610 thank you
dose it need to bake for harden?
Polymer clay? Yes it does not harden fully until baked properly each kind has different times and temps
