Fished this tactic last week on a match and so did everyone else, after breaking the ice no fish was having anything. With 2 hrs to go I reverted back to a summer rig and heavy feeding with maggots and groundbait. I won the match and only 4 of us caught. Just shows not all venues need winter tactics 🎣🎣 big love and keep the vids coming
Went out today, had 2 fish from 9am until 2pm, fishing maggots dead or alive over groundbait, made a slight change to method over the same bed of bait but with micros and a wafter, had 9 fishing between 2pm and half 3, in these conditions takes time to build the peg as this vid proves. Top work as always
Morecambe and wise of fishing , love watching and listening to your banter please keep them coming. Happy new year and successful new year to you both. Opps and rich.
Just want to say I BIG thank you to Jamie & Andy for the top tip!! Used the “girly rig” on my last two winter league matches & won the lake both times! 😎😎 Thanks lads & keep the tips coming! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Fished Monkhall yestderday (Swallow), decent peg had 13lb fishing this way, lad on the next peg had 48lb and never fed a maggot. Went a meter away from my feed and got bites.
Must say Andy preston gear looking good on u Bad luck Jamie u should have won 🤷♂️🤣🤣 Another geat fun filled video guys lve the laughs u to have BRILLANT again keep em coming 😁👍
I used to fish in winter for a couple of fish, but it's honestly not worth it for me anymore, sat there freezing and waiting an hour for a bite, il start again in April 😉
Don't get disappointed joe, went to my local snake lake last week and fed minimal maggots and micros in a cad pot. After 3 and half hours only had 2 tiny skimmers. Freezing my nuts off. Went gung ho and potted in half a pint of maggots in front of the next peg, finished with 3 big ide, two chub and one barbel and 3 f1s.
There is a local water close to me and I reckon the fish love the bait falling through the water. Would it be ok to shot my rig closer to the float and maybe 1 dropper for the slowest fall? Or would you still opt for the tapered shot pattern?
Your always trying to find a balance between presentation and indication, but the first half of the fall you’re probably not going to be hooking fish so might just end up wasting time.
You mentioned a few times that the rig would be far different on a pellet rig. Would a pellet rig use a 4x14 instead and have a tighter strung out shotting pattern further down the rig? Also I take it you will always use expanders over hair rig in the dead of jan? Fantastic video! Loved it.
Jamie tells you everything Andy says he's still learning he should let some secrets out Come on Andy get some secrets of your chest Two great fishermen
Andy talks as tho he’s a beginner and crap lol, yet he is one of the best match anglers in the country, all that he has won in his career all I can say is I wish I was as crap as him lol
Did you really need to leave that comment. Just turn it off if you don't like it and wait for the next one. The world's full of negative keyboard bashers .I for one will now resist the temptation to throw a hand full of maggots in at the start, after watching the video. Simply the best fishing channel bar none
Why leave such an unkind comment? This was quality content and demonstrates how to catch in tough conditions. Think back 30 years when the only fishing program was “Hooked” on BBC2. We are spoilt for choice today and able to watch the best in their business giving away all of their tips for nothing.

I guess this kind of shotting is working on the waggler as well, right? Just out of the pole reachability.
Are pinkies not better for this style of fishing ?
"They just swim round giving us the Vs all day" 😁
Great vid lads keep it up tight lines
Love the inclusion of the ‘off camera’ bits 👍👍

Would you always fish on the bottom during winter ?
Striking with my phone here the video was that good 😀
Have you ever fed chopped maggots in a winter as I have done it a few times and caught fish on this trick 🎣🎣 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
11:40 🤣🤣
The new Morecombe and Wise they'll be having a Christmas special soon 👍
Flourocarbon hooklengths? Discuss.

Or a 4x16 depending on depth, but yes the hard pellets are away until it starts improving 👍🏻
When’s fjuka bait challenge coming? 🤣
Never 👍🏻
@@WinningWays top stuff 👍🏻🤣🎣
Jamie tells you everything Andy says he's still learning he should let some secrets out Come on Andy get some secrets of your chest Two great fishermen
Would you start the same way on a local club lake that doesn’t have anywhere near same amount of fish in it?
Certainly worth trying 👍🏻
Great video as always will you both carry on doing the videos now Andy has gone over to the DARK SIDE.
Of course
Why have you gone to Preston ??? May
After over a decade at MAP it felt the right time for a new challenge 👍🏻
Would not be a good video without the messing about... Nice one boys
Do you reply to your comments like others do I like reading the replies so come on lads
We reply when we can but we get a lot of comments and messages so impossible to reply to everyone individually unfortunately.
2 maggots in the pot,1 dropped out so how did he manage to feed 2 more 😲 Jamie can add maggots to the pot when ever he wants too 😂
Andy talks as tho he’s a beginner and crap lol, yet he is one of the best match anglers in the country, all that he has won in his career all I can say is I wish I was as crap as him lol
Think thats the worst vid you have done..
Thanks for the feedback 😂 what was wrong with it?
