I have a tip (if you care to hear it) get yourself a 2 month EUrail pass and avoid taking busses. My wife, daughter and I spend 2 months traveling the Schengen/EU in 2021 & had a blast! Most trains are free with the pass or there may be a small fee for highspeed and 1st class seats. Almost all the trains are super nice, quiet and clean. No traffic and super fast (Spain 180-190mph) Also, there's tons of discounts on other things(rental cars, hotels, museums, tourist stuff, etc). We got a HUGE discount on a ferry from Venice to Patras Greece. The whole thing was less than $800 for the 3 of us and we hit up 11 countries. But, for some weird reason, the trains between Portugal and Spain have been discontinued
I've travelled extensively throughout Europe by both Train and Bus. I lived in Europe (Brussels) for 3 years (2019-2021). I would caution on the purchase of EuRail passes, they can be quite expensive. Every time I compared EuRail to individual ticket purchases; it was the individual tickets that won out.
@@thomasday8155 yep I've noticed the same thing! Especially if you don't travel from one place to another like every second day, then individual tickets usually are cheaper. And with the extensive flixbus network in Europe nowadays, it can be much cheaper to take the bus ☺️
Ha! That was me today! Arrived from NM to Lisbon via Phoenix and Philadelphia. Took the Lisbon Metro plus train out to Cascais. SO nice to be here! Had a dunch/linner (my time clock is way off!) of squid and tiger prawns (lula e camarão!) with vinho verde). SO good! Enjoy Portugal guys!
Hey guys, I really like your videos) Keep it going. Nice that you finally visited Portugal (one of my favorite countries in Europe)! You should visit “Praia da Ursa” - it’s probably the most beautiful place in the country and just 30 km from Lisbon ;)
Sympathy about going to the wrong train/bus station. It is not unusual in many European cities that there are multiple choices. One of the things my wife and I do is to walk to the bus/train station the day before. We just got back from 1 month in Korea, but we also have been to 30 different countries throughout Europe. We love to travel by train, with buses as our second choice.
When I was in college, I may or may not have used the bidet to rinse my clothes when I was in Spain for a month (through school). 😁 😂 When you arrived in Lisbon, we recognized the bus station! It was right across from a hotel we stayed at for one night. Lisbon has a lot to offer. Don't miss the original Pastel de Nata in Belém! Enjoy!
Nice to see your lovely faces up and about, but don't overdo it. Your health and safety are very important. And yes, signs in foreign hotels can be a laugh 🤗
You have to visit if they still exist the tiny bars in the Bairo alto (old part) which sell gin gin ha , various alcools made with fruit. They are tiny you drink standing and the glasses are tiny but you meet nice Portuguese there... if these bars still exist.....
Sucks that you missed the bus but hey, it wouldn't be a real travel day without a little bit of drama and stress. You've gotta love a room upgrade! Also, we're loving the slo-mo in the b-roll - it takes the video to the next level.
What is with the " you guys don't look well" comments? We got a bunch of doctors in here? You both look quite normal. Love the street dining interaction! More of that!
This vlog had all the classic OPW moves....get a little lost, starve all day, get a little hangry, find food, find ice cream, get happy again....love it. Also, how good is coffee after covid? My first sign I'd Lost my taste was when my coffee tasted like dirt. When it came back, my first sip of coffee I could taste again was like heaven in a cup.
BTW, I do second all the recommendations to do the Camino de Santiago. I did the Caminho Português from Porto to Santiago de Compostella some years back - 12 days walking, 14 days total with 2 rest days. You can do the minimum to get your credential (I think it is 100km) from Valença/Tui on the Portuguese/Spanish border. Just less than a week from there. It really is a totally magic experience! Little villages, with cafés! Awesome views!
Hello Tia & Cheveyo so happy to see you both on the road to recovery 💗 I am still laughing do not wash clothes in the toilet 😅 lol Enjoy Lisbon Take Care 🤩🤩❤🤩
Honestly, the bus might actually be better depending on which one you get. My return train to Lisbon was not air-conditioned and we were all frying in there for hours 😂. Enjoy Lisbon! Sintra, Cascais, Boca do Inferno, so many places to see! I took the train to Sintra and I hiked from one palace to the other. I think you both will appreciate that trail!
You only make the wrong station mistake once...maybe? 😁 You guys went straight to Lisbon and passed all the other towns in between. You have to go to one of the coffee/pastry shops and have coffee in that tiny cup. Just know that you get charged differently depending on if you stand at the bar and drink your coffee in that tiny cup or if you sit at a table. Love the coffee, but I could have drank 3 of those tiny cups... 😁
Oh I'm glad you got to the bus in time! 😅 Btw have you considered staying in hostel dorms? Those can be much cheaper in many places. 😊 And referring to the last blooper, I wonder if they actually mean that you shouldn't wash clothes in the bathroom because bathrooms are often called ''toilet'' in Europe 😄
guys, please be careful. if you are not 100% covid free because it can sneak back up on you and it would be so much worse, try to rest some more. also, be careful not to infect anyone if you are still positive. get well soon cause your vlogs are part of our daily routine now❤❤❤❤. ps. you just know that a lot of people tried to wash their clothes in the toilet for them to hang a sign.
Well ive gone out in sympathy with u two i to have covid and at home a week so will be starting all ya vlogs again from scratch so i dont go NUTS hahahhaha
Was it a Flixbus you traveled on? It's a GER company - my 20yo son loves Flixbus as he visited Paris, Prague, and Rome from Frankfurt for little money this summer after graduating (ABITUR!!!! 🙂 🙂🙂).... BTW: your video and audio quality blows me away, it's insanely good! Every single Dollar / Euro (or whatever currency) spent on your new gear was a perfect investment.....

You guys still don't look well. The virus can knock you around a bit and can linger, so take care.
#1. I'm getting on the postcard train. 👊😎
Your new camera is so clear. Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi you two are so cute and hilarious 😂❤. And remember do not wash clithes in the Toulet LOL 😂🙏🙏
Yeah, the rinse cycle will eat your clothes and you'll never see it again.🤣
@@darrylk808 LOL😂😊
Take some more rest to really get rid of after effects.

Oh dear. Tia don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s called COVID BRAIN… literally not at your best for weeks afterwards.
