This was an abridged version of Vivaldi's Summer and doesn't do it justice. 3:11 "you were playing...almost on your own" Well, she is *soloing* here, so she's supposed to be. He doesn't seem to understand that when musicians are super focused and "in-the-zone," they gets sucked into the world of music, which makes great performers and their performances great. They're supposed to tune out the audience, as there is a fourth wall that shouldn't be broken carelessly unless there's a significant reason to. That's why most musicians don't look at their audience while playing. Even actors don't look at their audience unless the intend on performing a fourth wall break. They stay in the world of their play/show/movie. 3:18 "On talent alone, you're one of the best we've seen." Then they must not have seen that many talented performers.
EXCUSE ME. this is nowhere near 'fabulous' in the actual musical world. the song she has chosen is storm from the famous summer in vivaldi's four seasons. it is something every violinist must go through if they want to pursue a higher level, and honestly she is not doing a good job -- even if the song was SIMPLIFIED for this performance (trust me the real solos are much harder). technique is lacking in essential areas, her fast notes are a mess, and she has an evident problem controlling her right hand (both coordination and power). Not worth the hype.
there is a saying evryone has a pace they can exceed when playing an instrument but only a few can acheive inhuman talents I understand this was a short one given time and practice one can master but the speed will always be different

There are many negative comments here, but they are understandable. Anybody with a reasonably musical ear can hear this performance is lacking, even for a simplified version of 'Storm'. (Vivaldi Concerto No. 2 in G minor, RV 315, "L'estate" (Summer) - Presto) There are versions of this piece on You-Tube from around 2.40 to around 11.40 minutes, and they are well worth a listen. Here is a short(ish) version of the piece, and you can hear the differences, as there are quite a few, between the performance of the Lead Violinist and that of Sue Son on BGT. th-cam.com/video/jAnzlpPuIDU/w-d-xo.html Remember though, that Sue Son was gutsy enough to get on that stage and perform. Her youth, at the time, means she will have have improved dramatically, if she has carried on applying herself to the violin. I wish her well, as she clearly has enough ability to give her the potential to improve.

I play the violin and it does not sound choppy what's so ever well for me it sounds clean
