There's literally not a huge part of the population degrading this kind of job. for real dude
@@Leandro7470nah when I was in school teachers used these jobs as a boogyman for why you need to go to College. One of the main take-aways from my education growing up was that labor jobs are less respected than sitting behind a desk.
It's one of the main reasons we have shortages in many trade jobs, and other sectors. Educators actively warded kids away from these jobs telling them they were below them and they should avoid them since they were the "bottom of the barrel" so to speak.
Shit I had a teacher say to me "you don't want to be average do you? Some Truck driver or a mechanic? Focus and get yourself a degree!" Later in College I realized those two jobs are actually extremely important for the day to day living of American citizens. If the Trucks stop we starve. In most cases if you're working a trade or in general not a traditional office job you more than likely have more raw value to society than anyone in that office building for Proctor and Gamble.
Hell without cashiers in stores people fall apart. A large chunk of society can't deal without someone holding their hand through a purchase.
Who degrades these folks? Most people would just think they have a pretty good job.

@@rocnloretta look up water main full circle. Not much to it.
@@rocnloretta that full circle comes rolled up and bolted in a box. (Many different sizes) Once you take it out, you take the bolts off and the full circle can now be pulled open (the rubber essentially wraps around the pipe when put on) clean the area of pipe it's going to be put on (they didn't show that in this clip...lol...sometimes it can suck, especially galvanized pipe) open and wrap the full circle on the pipe near the leak but not over it yet. Once on put your long bolts through the provided clamp holes and put the nuts on loosely so the clamp can still slide back and forth. At this point it won't come off the pipe unless bolts/nuts are taken off. (It can slide back and forth or be turned for bolt placement to your convenience) now the fun part, slide it over the leak, sometimes an old hole for a tap or even a crack, and tighten the sh*t out of the bolts. Make sure there are no leaks. Now the parts you see on this full circle in this video is a valve already in the full circle (most likely they have to tie it in to a building/house where one already existed. The water line/valve most likely got damaged or pulled out of that tap while they were working in that area. This is best I can describe by typing...lol.

This guy reminds me of what a fat lazy unmotivated slob I am. Kudos to him 🤝
It's nice to see support comments for water and sewer professionals. I've been doing this same thing for 15 years and it means a lot to these guys when they are appreciated by the public.
we love you guys more than we could ever express it. let everyone's appreciation for all the hobbies that include these roads be an example of how hard y'all work, couldn't do it without u guys
You are what makes society comfortable for everyone else. Thank you
Did underground construction with my country sewer district. Long hours and not so nice places a lot of the time depending on what crew your worked in. A lot of the older guys had shoulder and knee issues. People do t really think about what happens to everything that goes down their drain until it no longer does. Then it’s a big deal . Same thing with water, HVAC, and power so essential to our everyday living and comfort
I'm a young tradesman (glazier & finish carpenter) but these guys are the REAL construction guys. Serious work, man, serious work
Finishing my water treatment studies this year it's a really fun job. If my finance can handle it I might go to uni to do more in the field.
I'm a plumber in Chicago who's done basically this same job in the middle of January when it was -10°F.
This comment section has restored a little faith in humanity and made me a little more thankful I chose this profession.
Most people don't even think about those pipes underground, and it shows when you tell people you're a plumber and they assume you're playing with poop all day and installing toilets.
We get dirty, we bust our backs, and we keep clean drinking water in your homes for you and your children. So thank you to everyone who sees us 😁
The plumber protects the health of the nation 💪
I mean, even if you 'play with poop' and install toilets, it's still important, people can't live without either 😬
You guys rock!!!!!!!

Men we are much needed in this world we keep it running
Nah God does.
@@raulmenedez2427god do plumbing? in what universe ? 😂
@@raulmenedez2427 No humans do, and your imagination is acting up again ❤
This is the greatest DeWalt commercial I’ve ever seen😭😭
Hahahah! Ain’t it though?
as a pipelayer i can say that dewalt makes the best power tools. we put them through a lot of stuff whether it be mud, sand, snow, rain, throwing them around and sometimes dropping them into a trench from 8 to 20 ft and they all still work. we usually get about 2 hard years out of our 1/2" impacts. batteries are another story though 😂 after a few days of getting mud in them they usually don't work anymore
@@bigbadbung8388 helluva endorsement
I have that same impact wrench.
