Thanks so much for this message. Jesus was no theologian. He is the Theos/Deos - He is God. Instead of debating them, He just spoke the truth. I really want so much that more preachers will just preach the Word.
There often is another misconception that the Pharisees and Sadducees were the "church" of the day. They were not the "church", they were theologians. The "church" officials where the Levites and the priests, who might have been theologians or not. The Pharisees and Sadducees also were the government of the day - thus political parties.
