I am so grieved that worship leaders are so performance oriented!!! My heart is for true worship! Praying God restores worship!!!! Love this message Pastor Tim!
way back we had what was dubbed christain aerobics as the "worship" team did all these strange moves. I don't NEED to be entertained at church...so I don't go anymore, too many solo's for the choir to spotlight talents, and the band has their little rifts to insert. whatever NOT my thing at all and for me doesn't point the focus on my saviour
There are too many personal pronouns in our corporate worship today. There "IS" a place for that within our personal time with God. It's about HIM not us.
I've said this for decades. We are also to teach for free. Not make money off it. Tithes are to be spent in certain ways, Biblically. Most of it today goes into their pockets. Not doing as should with it. They take way to many vacations around the world. Planes. Cars. Fancy clothes. Million dollar homes. So on... It is to cover their bills, house, clothing, 😢 food, church building, elderly, poor, not all this extravagant stuff. . . They should be living no fifteenth than the average church. Not getting rich of tithes.
@@StillYHWHs I personally don't think tithing is biblical I think it's another way to gather money. Granted we should support the the body and we should do it joyfully.
@lovingjesus5184 some of us were convicted to tithe. Plus I've heard too many testimonies from friends who didn't tithe, then did, and their lives changed significantly. It's hard to not see Tithing is right. But it's nice to pamper our flesh with that 10%.
I realised this a while ago. Music is taking people away from God but because its got God or Jesus they think its holy and what God reaches when He wants obedience... which is fine out of love
Yes, it is obedience. I pray the professed are awakened to the truth of this obedience to which the Spirit leads us into Ezek 36:26-27 according to our adoption and the New Covenant as a Covenant member Jeremiah 31:31-33. God's Law. Examples like His Sabbaths: weekly (Saturday), and 7 yearly feasts, etc. These are signs to be on your hand and forehead and law coming from our mouth in Scripture, yet many have been trained to dismiss it for man-made traditions...like the Pharisees.
Worship is a LIFESTYLE, not only on a Sunday morning, stop blaming worship leaders, let us blame ourselves for looking for worship only on a Sunday morning. To me Sunday morning is a time of celebration with the Saints. My life outside of 2hrs on Sunday morning should be a continual worship to my Father, no matter what I may be going through. We have to stand before God for ourselves, nobody else will be with us. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Glory be to God.
Lord Jesus it's with your breath in my lungs I want to worship you daily, not just on a Sunday morning,🙏 Father God help me to stay down at your feet, in Jesus mighty name Amen
Done. 🙏 God bless you and lavious you with His presence. John 12: 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Praying for you alongside many believers for your faith to be strengthened in Him. To know Him intimately and be in close communion with His Spirit at all times. He will lead and guide you to take a step of faith however small it may seem - "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." James 4:8
But we do sing to the Lord. Music was created and designed by God for His glory. It's this ungodly, demonic music most churches play in this modern Christianity we see today. We sing Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs....Ephesians 5 and Colossians 3.
Ephesians 5v19 Tell us to sing and make melody in your heart to the Lord and Colossian 3 v 16 this is in the new testament not the old. We live under the new testament Christ nailed the old law to the cross , it is Finnish he said it But ppl will argue with God but can't win
It's new to you because He's misinterpreted the scriptures. These so called Pastors just want your money. Be careful. The only thing Jesus is asking Romans 12:1 in the Bible, which says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship”
@marckemp9955 You lie. I've been in enough and I've seen enough here on YT to know what I say is TRUTH. You might have your head in the sand about the Great Falling Away we are experiencing right now...BUT I DON'T.
The Law of First Use or First Mention is like the cornerstone of the building. Worship is used in unexpected place in scripture. Abraham Isaac Genesis 22 story is first where worship was first mentioned
Very good message but the sad point is, is that at the end they went back to the same kind of worship. Microphones amps guitars and a worship team. That is being a hypocrite, so sad. Read 1 corinthians 14 on how a fellowship gathering is to be moved and led by the HOLY SPIRIT.
@@kerussonikao2812worship service is a Solemnity of our lord's suffering, death n RESSURECTION it's a sad story of death but the rising from the grave is a joyous event , this is a Holy event in every true Christian lefe but today's churches have made a circus out of their churches, the people are like animals n maniacs in some , others are laughing dancing clapping n hysterical, some are thrown down as if like bricks , no one is is in controll of themselves it's the evil spirit taking controll of them
@@kerussonikao2812 You missed the message. Those mics and guitars and the songs we sing from our hearts to the Lord are still worship. This is not an attack on worship songs. Guitar or no guitar is not what counts. It is the anointing. Are people just going though the motions or are they singing the love in their hearts. When we gather and sing in his name he sings back over us. Singing is a huge important part of worship. It is that expression of love that causes us to obey the lord in all other areas. He said he did not need to teach on sexual immorality over the women who was living in sin. He woudl have needed to preach on worship he said. It is about the love. Matthew 22 34 to 40 explains. It is the greatest commandment. It is about worshipping the Lord first with our hearts so we can be anointed to worship with our soul and finally our minds once the other 2 are made right. We can not love others as Jesus loves them without Jesus in us. Jesus said if we love him we will obey him. He said if we obey him he will manifest himself into us in John 14. We need to keep the worship songs but make sure they are love songs to God and that it is not just a ritual. For some it is but for others like myself it is about Jesus.
Ok, but in basically every church I've attended ( have moved a lot, home-address-wise), across several different denominations and associations or non, our pastor &/or "worship team leader" HAS said this. Also, we read it in our Bibles. I'm getting a little tired of what maybe some mega church or popular writer or artist or etc. does or says or doesn't, being ascribed to "the American church" at large, at least, those who embrace contemporary music ( none of ours have had rock/hard rock music or anything extreme or clearly sensational etc. ). It seems to me that the VAST majority of those in churches who stick by the inerrancy of Scripture, the fundamental doctrines and esp. those who have adopted (most of the time) going through the Bible, ch. by ch., vrs. by vrs when preaching/teaching, and who aren't brand new Christians/new to the Bible, DO know and grow in all the ways we are to be worshipping God. Who may, yes, classify singing praises as it, right or wrong, but who definitely know that our whole lives are to be, among other things one could Biblically say on this topic.
We turned worship into singing then into self-worship. It's officially karaoke at God's holy pulpit. In addition, we've made worship all about us. Worship songs with more I's and me's than you and yours are perfect examples of this. The Lord did say people will be lovers of themselves, arrogant, prideful and haters and God, etc in the last days. This is clearly evident in our churches today.
What? When You Say You Love Someone do you say love you or do you profess that love? "I love you," I love you Lord because you first loved ME" "you died for me, and I will worship you" How did any of that become self- serving or self-worship? This is such an asinine thought process to me.
@@Anne-po99 The motive doesn't matter at all. Christ told the Samaritan woman in Jhn 4 that the Father is to be worshiped in truth. Having good motives don't amount to anything if there is no truth involved.
Do you think that God is displeased with worship in song? I can’t imagine what could be wrong with worshipping God in song, in dance, in tears..the purity of your heart is what really matters. God created all things including music. Sometimes I struggle with the words for my love ve so I sit quietly just loving him, thanking him but when I sing to him all of a sudden words flow out in adoration, humility, thankfulness and love and kindness, I then feel a connection with God that stays with me all day with an urgency to stay with Him, watching my words, my eyes and thoughts and I’m a better servant, daughter, wife and mother. I could care less about smoke machines, or lights I don’t even need an instrument, but just sitting on my back porch opening my mouth and heart to sing to the Lord has been very effective for me. I was saved through song and I’m sure God uses all things to save his children. Praise His Holy Name. 🙏🏽
And don't let them take it from you. There are those of us who keep a song all day long and entwine it with our worship. If none of these guys have experienced that, perhaps that is on them. All I know is, God will perfect that which concerns me as long as my daily offering is a contrite heart and a will to let the Spirit change me.
He never said that. He said singing is not worship! We all love singing. Do we all love laying down our lives in obedience when it hurts. That’s Worship. Reading the Word, that’s worship. Giving up our comforts for others, our time, our money, our rights, that’s worship, and if you can do it while singing his praises, that’s worship! Karaoke, that’s not worship! That’s what he was saying.Psalm 51:17
Wow, this preaching is hitting me hard in the heart. I was wasting time watching a movie at 2am and decided to watch youtube and this preach came about. Wow, Thank you Lord Jesus.
I have been heartbroken of how much of a show church services have become and have been asking God to renew my joy and depth in Him, and there have been so many spiritual attacks on my household! Last night as I layed in bed I prayed for every person in my household and when I got up this morning, I saw that my mother had sent me this link. As I listened to it, I was fed what my heart has been YEARNING for about true worship! He is TRULY WORTHY OF ALL PRAISE!! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!!
Wow! this is such a much needed teaching in the Church today! We don't see miracles or the gifts of the Spirit operating in church services exactly because there is no worship! May God forgive us and have mercy on us!
This man of God is truly filled with the Spirit. I know that because this sermon is so much spirit filled. Am gonna listen to all of his sermons. He has blessed me ❤❤❤
This is a powerful teaching. But I have come to being able to worship Him in song 🎶 In fact I could only memorise the Word, by singing it! My first life-verse was, ‘Obedience is better than sacrifice.’ The second one was, ‘Do what I ask of you. So not add or take away from it.’ From learning obedience I have learned to have loose-hands over 44 years of following HIM! I humbly share: we sold all we had to follow Him to the mission field. And that included leaving my father, who had a terminal-cancer.. and he sent me off with his blessing. I say again: I humble share this. And now, He has asked me to give up something I have done daily, with 10 Christian gal pals, on line.. it was a struggle, but I FINALLY shared with them, and they blessed me to obey. Also I have just learned that our eldest granddaughter has been conscripted into the Norse Military today! We knew it was coming and have been praying God will use this to His honour & glory. We expect she will be sent for the very north of Norway.. to the Russian Border. I surrender her to Jesus. Amen
WOW! I have struggled lately with “worship and praise” at our church…I feel like it’s more of a show. But this…clear it all up. I’ve grown up in church and never heard it preached like this. Thank you Pastor Delana. David Wilkerson has brought more growth to my relationship with Yeshua than all the preachers I’ve sat under! What a blessing to see the fire has not left TSC!
However it wouldn't be like this unless the people want it. Hopefully more and more people will wake up. I attended a church once that played the same worship song over n over again it was quite mesmerising.
Great Point!!! Music has never been, is not now, or shall ever be worship. Music is Praise!!! The ultimate definition of worship is Obedience!!! We worship when hearing the Word of God being preached or taught in a biblical way.
The one who did not prostrate himself and fall on his face didn't worship as Jesus taught. Such person just made up some ritual and deviated by following baseless innovation in acts of worship.
Has been on my mind a long time. We have been singing about Him, about us, but not to him...Too many places it has become a talent show...We all need to hear this...
I am a product of Teen Challenge Midland. To say my life was changed would be an understatement! I am now married 30 years three wonderful spirit filled children. A Bride of Christ! When singers are more concentrated on doing complex runs then just singing this song straight with needed inflection to support the words of worship, it becomes a big show.
Yes.. went to s worship event the other night and this was my thought. That and drum and guitar solos... If that's a musicians offering, do it in your home.
This message is a confirmation of the reason I've been waking up between 2-5 am and I'm frustrated because I'm awake and can't fall back to sleep. I saw another video explaining why. I'm to pray. I'm to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. Early in the morning will I seek you....the obedience and sacrifice of worship. Thank you for sharing Jamie.
Same here. Now I realize that the Holy Spirit is waking me up in the night to pray for this broken world, for family, friends, neighbors, leaders, countries etc.
Music in the Bible has been used to calm agitated leaders (1 Samuel 16:23), to promote the ways of the Lord (Psalm 40:3), to uplift a people (Ephesians 5:19), to praise the Lord (Psalm 104:33) and to invoke His presence (2 Chronicles 5:13).
@@mrwiggiewoo it isn't about the music. The words that are chosen to be sung in your church are important of course but the whole point is that true worship is complete obedience to God in all things and without reservation. I don't disagree that many churches have turned their praise into performances. I have experienced that myself in the church where I first began to serve the Lord. The rub is that it's easy to get caught up in the foolishness of condemnation over things that are irrelevant. People also get bent out of shape about the altar space. The days of the Tabernacle are long since passed. He dwells within us, we are his temple. We don't require buildings or anything of the like. Music has been a part of worship for all time but, if you aren't in full submission to God, it is empty words and gestures.
@@anfiach Yes, for the most part, I agree! I've been a Christian for 50 years. Not that that makes me an authority on the sybject, but in earlier days of my faith life, we would gather, pray and sing ( ye olde hymns) togther in a church setting, and hear the Bible taught, that was considered a time of worship. Hymn singing was a part of the congergational worship, not the centerpiece. Also, there are different contexts in which we worship- together as a congregation, individually in our lives with God, which of course, centers around love and obedience to God. I listen to and enjoy contemporary Christian music but I don’t neccesarily think it should be called "worship" music. I am partial to a lot of the classic hymns because the focus is more on God and not on our feelings and experiences of him. My point is singing is a part, not the whole, of congregational worship, as is exemplified in the Psalms.
This is the first time I am listening to a message from Times Square Church....for some reason, i decided to watch this video. I was praying for a stategy to remain in Christ and deepen my r/ship with him.....this just answers all of my questions....thank you gor this Pastor...thank you
I agree with you, i long to hear preacher preach about sin and HELL and about not sinning and not going to hell about me getting my soul right with GOD
A lot of times when I study mathematics it gives me a certain reverence for God. God is in a lot of places, not just song. But of course he's there too. Lot of good church songs out there.
This is very Biblical and so profound for believers to get this right about true worship, only God knows how church ended up here on how we view worship. I have been blessed to hear this confirmed message about worship. Worship is a life style, it is everything about our Christian walk, it is not for this hour and that minute etc but a walk of worship... ho God help us to have our minds renewed according to scripture. Bless Pastor Tim for this timely Apostolic message of truth.🎉
If we study we would have never thought that singing in a building was worship, it's not only confirmed in Genesis The apostle Paul clearly mentioned what is true worship but I'm sure you read it before, the problem that we have had is believing only the pastor and not gods word
In the 80's when it was becoming what it is today God showed me a lot about it. I was in a very, very long fast when this came. Praise and glorifying God is speaking of Him and the things He's done for us. Honor and worship is obedience. The good works that are a fruit of His Spirit, our change of heart, glorifies Him to others. Careful though, human compassion isn't what He wants, He wants Godly compassion and not flesh works. If a song fills your heart then sing, but dont go through the motion. That's offensive to our Father and is a strange incense, and when the sons of Aaron offered it, they died.
I have been questioning for many years as to why there are stages in a church; why do we need to elevate the choir and the minister. Why not just a pulpit for the Word of God to be preached from the minister, pastor, etc. ? Why drum sets and guitars and giant speakers on a stage and bowls of ear plugs on tables in the foyers? Why the need for laser lights and smoke machines? When did a church service become a rock concert and why do we feel the need to be entertained instead of being given food for thought through the Word of God being preached reverently and solemnly? Why is there a book store on the premise or in the foyer selling jewelry, toys, snacks, Bibles, books by "Christian" authors and even by their own minister.? Why is there a coffee shop with donuts, breakfasts and sandwiches being sold in the foyer? Why do people feel freely the okay to eat and drink these items during church service? In His Father's temple, Jesus pushed over tables that had wares, animals, and doves being sold for sacrifices; not outside the walls of the temple but inside the very temple. The place where worship to His Father was taking place. Jesus found this sacrilegious and became very angry, only one of the few times in HIs life He showed anger. Why do our people who call themselves Christians show so very little respect or modesty to our Father in Heaven in their dress and demeanor while attending church service? I see people wearing shorts and tank tops to services; jeans, flip flops, men wearing hats on their heads, short skirts, tight clothings, cleavage showing, why? One last thing....why do ministers feel they have to entertain their parishioners with jokes to gain and keep their "audience" during worship service? Getting people on the right path to the Lord is serious work. My opinion.
I have often wondered the same things as you have said. And. Why the need for the speakers to be turned on so loudly, that I, even I, have to take my hearing aids out so that the ears are not hurt and my hearing become worse. Even then. I sometimes have to put my hands over my ears to keep from being blasted. The laser lights, etc. result in my feeling like I am at a rock concert. I could say more, but I will stop.
Those organizations (not THE CHURCH) are trying to appeal to the world. Where is their faith in the power of The Word of God? Teach truth and God will change their lives. Avoid truth (to be liked and to avoid offense) and you will fill a building with false converts. The people will not bear GOOD fruit. This happens when the pulpit is being occupied by men who have no real faith in God to provide.
Music, singing are EXTENSIONS of worship, i don't need music to worship, it's another avenue of worship...And as a Worship drummer for 50+ years, its a great way to worship...
The entire service of a church on Sunday morning is worship. The singing is part of the teaching, and the teaching is part of the worship. And all of it is meant to bring glory to God.
What? When you can find even one peice of notated music in the Bible, then we can talk. Anytime a song leader turns to self affirmation, or self glorification, the worship of God is lost. I have family members who are song leaders in their churches who's focus is the performance - and it has nothing to do with the style. I'd put John Cooper from Skillet in a cage match against Stephen Furtick any day and my metal loving apologist would dance over him all day long. Look first at the words being said and the heart of those saying it, and then let's talk delivery vehicle.
@stavros333Could you rephrase yourself so I could understand? I would like to give a reply to what I think you just said but I’m not actually sure what you’re trying to say
I LOVE this message. This is it! The Truth. Christianity is repenting of me running my life and giving full control to God Who created and owns me. It is constant submission to Him.
To me this is a prophetic message, a timely word for our time. A word in the tradition of our late brother David Wilkerson, and diametrically opposed to much shallow 'feeling good' and prosperity preaching. It was a challenge to me also to reflect on my personal life and consider whether it is a life of true worship or whether I have taken back things that I had sacrificed long ago. We live in a time when so much distraction and so many temptations tempt us to opt for a watered down christian life. Thanks you so much, brother, for passing Gods Word on to us and to me.
Totally nailed it! Rom 12:1 worship and submission to God are synonymous. On a side note, I find the music in the background distracting. In my mind (and I may be way off), it is used to create a mood which feeds the idea that music and mood are needed for worship. Love the message though. It is ALL God's.
My thoughts exactly. I’m not bashing the pianist but in that particular setting, too many notes were being played over top of the minister making his final points (the application), our brain will tune one or the other out. 😬
You guys at Times Square Church are so blessed to sit under the teaching of Pastor Tim Dilena. I am beginning to pray for such a pastor and teacher in my little Australian city. 🙏🏼
I always kinda felt there was something wrong with alot of contemporary Christian music and now we're seeing many beloved artist go the way of the world. I don't see Jesus anywhere in the Bible teaching his disciples to go out and have concerts and raise money to go out and have more concerts so maybe, just maybe you'll get a dove award. Things have gone terribly wrong. Pray to not be deceived in these last days.
While in college getting music degree I had to write my philosophy of worship (apparently alot of churches want you to have this in your resumé portfolio). My whole point in my “philosophy of worship” was that musical worship was a drop in the bucket of worship to our God and that singing & music is essentially empty worship if our daily lives are not submitted to Him and His glory. Until our lives are truly live daily for God, our hearts will not connect and interact with the musical praise & worship. We may not need to fervently emotionally express during musical worship but I can see the attitude of true worship on the face of believers in the crowd who truly have good fruit & live for God in their daily lives.
True worshipers will worship God in spirit and in truth, not music it has been added n added till it stinks only our Lord knows how he feels this pain of listening to such chaotic nonstop music , may the Lord forgive those who teach n sponsor these evil practices in churches, Jesus did not play any instruments during 5he last supper nor did he tell to do so may our eyes be opened n worship God seriously n not by showing off our capabilities n going off tangent by music
This is my fourth time listening to this message; it is deep revelation for me and It will change my whole attitude about giving my all to God. No more resistance! God help me to walk in this revelation in my daily walk with you.
We have been worshipping the activities and not the one who is worthy, the one who died for us to connect us back to the Almighty God. What a truth we need to believe... Thank u pastor
I’ve given ALL of me for over 50 years & have NEVER regretted it!!! All I’ve surrendered the Lord has replaced with victory & beauty !!! Praise Almighty God & His Son Jesus myLord & Savior!!!
My wife watched this last night. I came in after it was over and saw the cover image and title on the screen. It intrigued me Found it this morning and hit play. What a "mistake." God hit me right between the eyes with this message. So much truth that I've never heard presented like this before. May we all be obedient to Father and let go of the things He asks for us. Give us a heart of willing obedience, Father, that we would be children you take in pleasure in and take note of. In Jesus' name. Amen.
What a wonderful message. An Undiluted truth. Praise the Lord! However, the background music is causing serious distraction. During a sermon, there should be quietness everywhere. Thank you pastor.
Maybe you have. But many are not. It clearly says in the Bible how important sound and praise and worship through music is. This was a truly misguided sermon with many false teachings. I guess the choir of angels is heaven are just fools then.
@@jordob5791What part and where are “misguided” “ false teachings “ you accused in your condemnation over this man of Christ teaching/sermon? Like loud, ears blasting Hollywood type of so called worship, that’s your choice and right but calling a man preaching and teaching based on his conviction makes you nothing less than a hateful one, calling a man of God a false teacher simply bc you disagree………..😮 I’d be careful, The Almighty who called him in the ministry will not take your comment lightly. @@keithbarton9859 Your ignorance to this topic makes it nearly impossible to respond to you. Music is a form of worship. Obviously there are people who go through the motions in any aspect of worship. But to say it isn’t worship for those that actually are sincerely making a joyful noise to the lord,WOW!, that is truly perplexing. Please go and actually read the Bible as it pertains to music and worship. While you’re at it study the parts about false teachings. I think that bit about a 2x4 was imbecilic. How quick you were to fantasize about violence towards someone you don’t know. You are assuming a lot just as this original comment is. Like I said, I guess the choirs in heaven are just fools then?Maybe they will have a bone to pick with you and this pastor. Absolutely an excellent message. Music doesn’t need to compete with genuine expressions of worship. It can be a call to the believer’s heart and mind, done right. Read Psalm 150 and many other citations. Singing and playing instruments is an important aspect of worship. See Psalm 40, “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.”

This is very good and important teaching! Every pastor, every worship leader and every christian in America needs to listen and learn from this teaching. Thank you pastor for teaching the truth and not sensationalism!!
Singing is just a part of worship but I think it is important to understand that Godly singing reaches a part of our mind and soul not easily obtainable elsewise -our subliminal mind and our spirt. Chains of pain and sin have been broken from the power of the Holy Spirit during these deep worship moments. I experienced healing as well during these times of God people coming collectively and unitedly to intercede for me while many are singing. During song we have the Word spoken over us, through us and by us and the Word is Jesus so when you think about it that way it is very powerful, it is a filling of the Holy Spirt. It is one of the few times in my week that He has my FULL attention and I am engaged and involved, not just sitting there trying to listen. The trouble is so many churches do not offer this to their congregations and do not understand the value-for most in America they are just entertained during the services with a couple songs, a long sermon and a closing prayer. Listening to the Word is important but that is not all worship either. Prayer is worship. Serving is also worship. Tithing is worship. And yes singing is worship. WORSHIP is a whole life offered in sacrifice for the glory of God and in thankfulness of our Salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. Singing is just one aspect of it, but it is a very important one because it often empowers us to worship deeply in all the other areas.
I agree! ... as long as we recognize our true intent: get over all the optics and performances around us in life to really worship (obedience) God from the heart. The only thing i find real off is the awards ceremony for gospel music - who is the real focal point now?? hmmm...

Obedience and service!👏👍😊
I realised this a while ago. Music is taking people away from God but because its got God or Jesus they think its holy and what God reaches when He wants obedience... which is fine out of love
Wow, Amen!!! Exactly worship = obedience!!!!!!
In everything you do glorify God!
You got it 💯
Lord Jesus it's with your breath in my lungs I want to worship you daily, not just on a Sunday morning,🙏 Father God help me to stay down at your feet, in Jesus mighty name Amen

Worship is not singing, but our obedience! That's new to me!
It's a Pearl, don't loose it.
And God blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified. ( made holy) indeed obedience is worship. Gen 2 :3 . Love the message
You don't find preaching like this in America's churches today. Preach it, Pastor!

Music became worship when we stopped wanting to hear the truth, and wanted to be entertained.

Good Word. Worship has become entertainment in western churches.
Very good message but the sad point is, is that at the end they went back to the same kind of worship. Microphones amps guitars and a worship team. That is being a hypocrite, so sad. Read 1 corinthians 14 on how a fellowship gathering is to be moved and led by the HOLY SPIRIT.
@@kerussonikao2812 amen

Our pastor ends every service saying “Service is over - worship begins!”
In the last decades, Worship has become musical entertainment! 😊
Many progressive churches are into Hip Hop/Rap music.
I gave a thumb up in agreement
OUTSTANDING
We turned worship into singing then into self-worship. It's officially karaoke at God's holy pulpit. In addition, we've made worship all about us. Worship songs with more I's and me's than you and yours are perfect examples of this. The Lord did say people will be lovers of themselves, arrogant, prideful and haters and God, etc in the last days. This is clearly evident in our churches today.
What? When You Say You Love Someone do you say love you or do you profess that love? "I love you," I love you Lord because you first loved ME" "you died for me, and I will worship you"
How did any of that become self- serving or self-worship? This is such an asinine thought process to me.
. It depends on our motive.
@@lavapop1900 Watch footage of Steven Furtick and company in action onstage and you'll see the problem. And that's only one example.
Johnm5211...BOOM. 🔨🎯💯
That is praise
Between you and Christ
Praise is one thing, worship is another.. That's what I got from this message
I think you missed the point. If he meant it like this, why would they sing during the sermon?

Especially at “Christian” funerals.
Wow! this is such a much needed teaching in the Church today! We don't see miracles or the gifts of the Spirit operating in church services exactly because there is no worship! May God forgive us and have mercy on us!

Amen

Great Point!!! Music has never been, is not now, or shall ever be worship. Music is Praise!!! The ultimate definition of worship is Obedience!!! We worship when hearing the Word of God being preached or taught in a biblical way.
"From Him, through Him and to Him are all things."
One of the best messages I have heard Pastor Tim Delina preach. Thank God He has found a servant of God who is not afraid to speak the Truth.

This is why I think we should bring back the old hymns in the church.
still missing the point
@@anfiach how so?
We worship in spirit in truth by speaking in agreement with God's Word

Look at pastor gino jennings and you Will find a real church.
Totally agree 💯 with what you said
100% agree. I ask this question every single service. I just don't understand why
Dear lord Jesus I believe please take control of my life I surrender it all to you. Do as you will Amen.

The entire service of a church on Sunday morning is worship. The singing is part of the teaching, and the teaching is part of the worship. And all of it is meant to bring glory to God.
WORSHIP INTO SINGING CAME WITH ROCK BANDS AND HUGE TV IN THE CHURCH. MODERIZATION OF CHURCH HAS GOTTEN OUT OF CONTROL. GLAD THIS MAN IS SPEAKING UP.
Rock music had nothing to do with it. It's about the heart.

It is ALL God's.
i agree. the background music is very distracting
My thoughts exactly. I’m not bashing the pianist but in that particular setting, too many notes were being played over top of the minister making his final points (the application), our brain will tune one or the other out. 😬

Many so called 'Christian' singers/music groups will say they are not believers in Jesus Christ; they are in it for the money and so-called fame.

May the Lord sustain u pastor
Finally, someone has questioned the idea of music taking precedence over worship 🛐
Thank you, Pastor Tim Dilena! 🙏

Powerful sermon!! Such a needed reminder yes worship is surrendering and obeying the Lord!
It intrigued me
Found it this morning and hit play.
What a "mistake."
God hit me right between the eyes with this message. So much truth that I've never heard presented like this before.
May we all be obedient to Father and let go of the things He asks for us.
Give us a heart of willing obedience, Father, that we would be children you take in pleasure in and take note of. In Jesus' name. Amen.
It's time to return to true worship. Thanks for this timely words, Pastor!
Wow, what an awesome teaching.
I surrender ALL.
Giving it ALL to JESUS.
Watching from South Africa
Blessings from germany! Preach it Pastor, the Lord bless you and your family!!!
What a wonderful message. An Undiluted truth. Praise the Lord!
However, the background music is causing serious distraction. During a sermon, there should be quietness everywhere. Thank you pastor.
This is an inspired sermon. I say Amen!
I'm giving it all to Jesus! I come with loose hands and surrender all to Jesus Hallelujah!!
Thank you. We have been worshiping the "show" and not the Bible.
Maybe you have. But many are not. It clearly says in the Bible how important sound and praise and worship through music is. This was a truly misguided sermon with many false teachings. I guess the choir of angels is heaven are just fools then.
I totally agreed with you. I understand you.
He might have a huge 2 by 4 in His hand ready to spank His child. God bless you.
Having a lazy mind makes you susceptible to things that are false, like this pastor’s sermon. It’s that simple.
I will now turn you over to The Lord Jesus Christ Himself to deal with you. Good luck!
Powerful sermon worshipping ain’t singing but obedience coz the simple act of obedience moves the hand of God❤
In short, I used to be a bad boy. I did all sorts of evil deeds🙆🙆🙆🙆😭😭😭😭😭😭 but the Mighty hand of God was just on me. Thank you God for your love.
Now, it's 3yrs down the line and I accepted the Lord Jesus as the Lord and Saviour of my life and now I do serve Him on His Alter.
Glory be to the Most High. In deed a seed of God dies not.
I surrender all. Pastor Tim, thank you for lighting my path back to true worship and the lordship of Jesus.
Never heard sermon on worship like this.Brilliant exposition. God bless your Ministry Brother in Christ. Amen and Amen.
Am in tears 😭😭❤🙏🙌🙌🙌off this turth am speechless off how God almighty Jesus christ made this message came to confirm God's word off turth...pastor Tim dilena I pray 🙏 one day I get to meet you because God showed me you in a dream sir.. am being obedient according to God's will God bless you pastor Tim and TSC...am overwhelmed ..
Thank you Pastor for teaching us the true worship 🙏🏽
May God help us to worship in obedience and truth.
This is very good and important teaching! Every pastor, every worship leader and every christian in America needs to listen and learn from this teaching. Thank you pastor for teaching the truth and not sensationalism!!
What a blessing to hear the meaning of the word Worship
Thank you, Pastor Tim, for this timely message to redirect the Church back to true worship. More anointing from Nigeria.
The only thing i find real off is the awards ceremony for gospel music - who is the real focal point now?? hmmm...
