What Happened To "Mr Ballislife" Trae Jefferson? Stunted Growth (FEG BANDMAN)

  • Mr Ballislife. Salute to Ball is life, one of the OG basketball youtubers that almost 10 years ago first featured Trae Jefferson, the 5’7 TH-cam sensation that actually had a shot at the NBA. In those 10 years Jefferson cooked his defenders nearly 40 minutes a game with his fearless rim attacks, ankle breakers and crafty passes. We’ve all seen the stories of dominative point guards that were great in high school but that’s where it stopped. Until Trae Jefferson showed us at his height he could go straight to a division 1 program and become its 2nd leading scorer right away, on a team that made the NCAA tournament, then in his sophomore season, lead the NCAA for most the season in 2018 until youth, immaturity and the TH-cam sensation curse got the best of him. With 2 successful college basketball seasons under his belt, averaging 18.7ppg, NCAA tournament experience and an upcoming junior year that was sure to see him as one of the bright faces of college basketball, it wouldn’t at all be out of place to see and hear Trae Jefferson’s name among the ones talked about as an NBA Draft prospect. Then a suspension and a failed transfer left him with no program to go to. Now a days Trae Jefferson goes by the name FEG Bandman and I guess is a rapper. Really liked Trae's game. Think of all the small prodigies, he was the best and had the best opportunity after his sophomore year in college. Wish I could've seen his junior year.Good luck on the music though.

    Really like the angle you did with this one. Sometimes your attitude can cost you your opportunity. Lesson I learnt in my 20s. In my 30s I learned to reel it in and just get the work done without drama. It isn't easy or glamorous but it gets the job done. Balancing drive and attitude is not something most have at that age. And as you said, some others were given way more opportunities that they deserved.

    • @jonathanthomas9485
      @jonathanthomas9485 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Attitude is an absolute killer these days. Coaches have had too many examples of what happens with hotheaded players on & off the court. When things at Texas didn’t work out you can bet all of the other coaches that passed on him knew they decided right in doing so. Not 1 of them looked & thought here’s our 2nd chance to get this guy (unfortunately). I still don’t see it as a reason to quit unless you are the type of person that believes for a fact your bad attitude or short temper just won’t change then it is what it is. He has already chosen his fate if that’s the case. Nobody in the world has the power to choose it for him.

    Yes but guards at that height their range must be consistent at a high level. Yes absolutely speed and quickness is required for small guards but you must have one of the following: range, strong facilitor, get to the basket at ease with least amount of dribbles(Trae young). Or effectively can shoot off the dribble and solid range, get to basket at ease with a good amount of dribble moves, and be a good passer(Isaiah Thomas). If I’m lying I’m flying let me know?

    Sounds like Mike Davis was sick of this dude. It's a shame that this happens to so many talented young men. And of course, after basketball, rapping seems to be the next "career" move...smh
