This may sound stupid, but this was my lucky perfume when I did color guard back in high school. I’d spray some on my neck and wrists before every show.
Didn’t know you had a review for it!!! This was one of my first when diving into the world of fragrances. Wish I could still find it, without being overcharged an arm and a leg on eBay. You’re videos are always phenomenal with or without the same production.
Thank you for the kind words. I also was a bit upset after all the talk about her fragrance being made to smell one way only for her to come forward and say it was just a joke. The fragrance smells nice, but I wonder how successful sales would've been had she not promoted it the way she did. Thanks for watching.
Exactly!! I too agree that fame, or a desire to be more renowned in a particular industry is the motivational factor behind many celebrities' success, but the stress that accompanies that desire as well as the criticism from the media is tinged with what I would figuratively call "darkness." It smells beautiful, but there's a dark, mysterious aura to it as well. Thanks for watching my friend!
i honestly couldn't have said it better myself. I know the motto is "Black like the soul of fame" but I wanted people to get a little bit more into detail about it and that's exactly what you did. Thank you for watching my video and for being a part of my channel. Hope all is well and keep in touch. =)
Hey there! You're right actually. In a sense, I don't think that that was very fair of her to do, but at the same time, there's nothing telling her she can't. They both smell really nice but I have to agree with you that Fame dries down very quickly. Some people have been lucky where it lasted on their skin a whole 12 hours. Unfortunately, I don't get anything near that. The most I've gotten is 7.5 hours, but it turns into a skin scent to say the least. Thanks a bunch for watching!
You said it best. Looks are certainly deceiving in many scenarios. I bet many people who pick up a tester bottle at Macys or Sephora expect it to smell one way but are pleasantly surprised by how it actually smells. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. I hope all is well and keep in touch.
Gaga has always been interested on the duality of fame. The first time we saw this was how she followed her album "The Fame" with "The Fame Monster". She was all like "yeah the fame is great" but then she showed the dark side, the sacrifices. And now with her debut fragrance, Fame, she continues to show the fame as something to be yearned, but feared at the same time. Fame is not entirely new, but when humans acquired it, the consequences were made clear.
Lady Gaga Fame was one of my first perfumes i got (alongside a perfume from the house of Federico Mahora). My dad bought me the 100-ml bottle as a gift when i was still in high school because he knew i was such a huge Little Monster, hehe. I honestly loved it so much to the point where i actually wore it everyday, even to school. It lasted me around 2-3 years until the bottle went empty (but unfortunately, i lost the bottle). As far as i can remember, Lady Gaga Fame did smell sweet and a bit intense, however it was also somewhat fresh to the point where it wasn’t cloying to me even when i wore it daily (i live in a tropical climate, BTW) and it’s probably because of the floral notes in it. I also remember getting some compliments from some of my classmates when i was wearing it. It’s now been around 4-5 years since the last time i was wearing it and i recently grew interest in perfumery - that said, i’m having a hard time finding ‘that’ scent as my signature one. But, i guess i’d like to get myself another bottle of Lady Gaga Fame perfume and give it another try because i kind of already forgot how it smells. By the way, the juice of the perfume itself was actually not black - i once randomly admiring the bottle in front of my bedroom window during the day and found out that it was actually just a very intense and almost-opaque deep wine red color.
Bella Donna is usually used as a sedative. So in my opinion even though it LOOKS creep & weird, its actually sweet & soothing. Looks are deceiving when it comes to a lot of things. The perfume is an example of that saying.
The last fragrance reviewer on earth that I think will be reviewing Fame by Gaga would be you. I means; I always use your chanel as reference and I adore your format. It is my little happiness of the day that I found your review on this (such a surprise!) I just got one 15 ml. for quite a good price (usd 15) it is my personal collecting fragrance in my collection because I have strong memory bounding to the early of lady gaga; I always want one. You format and tone of voice are not really changing; thank you for reviewing fane by Lady Gaga..
I agree. I expected the smell to be a little darker or a little more risque judging by her personality and the stunts she pulls, but the fragrance itself smells very safe. Maybe if they amped up the hay (if there is indeed any hay in this fragrance) to give it a more rugged smell, I think that would've suited the presentation more, but there's nothing taboo about this smell. The bottle is phenomenal though, but I agree that someone could get hurt!
The belladonna does indeed make it floral enough for it to be categorized as a women's fragrance, but in the dry-down, the honey/apricot/incense combo is gender neutral. I'm glad you like it! Did you end up picking up a bottle?
I think that the whole project wants to describe the multifaced character of fame. The ad is very dark and creepy, and the jus is black. Lady Gaga has always had a strange conception of fame, that is a bad fame, an evil fame, that kills people and make them suffer (you know, Marilyn, Judy Garland or Lady Di). But in my opinion the smell is quite light and pleasent, like the pleasure of sensation famous and rich. It's a representation of fame in any aspect.
Hey there! If you're confident, I'm sure you can pull it off. The belladonna does make it a bit feminine, but the sweet elements of the fragrance are fairly unisex. One of my viewers called Fame a floral jolly rancher smell! I don't think this fragrance satisfies the woods or gourmand department though. What are some fragrances you like?
I second what you said. All perfume eventually turns clear. There's a fragrance by Boudicca called Wode that appears as a cobalt blue color on your skin when sprayed, but even that eventually vanishes. I own fragrances in many different colors. Take care and keep in touch. =)
OH I am so happy you gave this a fairly good rating. of course when I bought this perfume a few years ago, I was biased as a fan of Gaga but now that I am really into fragrances recently, I wanted to get another bottle again, and referred to you to see if you thought highly or not about this one. I used to wear this scent everywhere! Lol, but I thought it was funny when you said it is a mature scent, but I see what you mean
Great man! There's no shame in that! Haha. Amanda might like this one! You can consider it an early present for the holidays. Thanks for watching Dan. Also, have you received the samples yet?
No, I don't think the bottle matches the juice either. I just checked out pulse, and I agree with you. Really nice bottle on that one too. I',m looking forward to your next review man!
Thank you for the kind words, and I have to agree with you that this one is more for a mature crowd. The smell isn't anything groundbreaking by any means but the ad campaigns have probably garnered more attention to this fragrance than it otherwise would have received had it not been so under the spotlight. I can see this one becoming a classic based on the presentation alone. Thanks for watching, and I will do my best to review Platinum Egoiste in the near future! Hope all is well!
I like to think the black fluid represents the darker aspect she always injects into her music and videos. Everything she does always has a very macabre vibe to it and I really enjoy it since it's a step away from the typical bubblegum pop.
I have to agree with you on that. She's always deviating from the norm, and that's something that I appreciate about her as a musician and an individual in general. I think the belladonna represents the poisonous or toxic nature of her music, but the smell is actually quite sweet and gentle (like her true nature). Thanks for commenting and watching. Keep in touch!
Love your reviews, sir! I enjoy Fame, quite a bit. It initially got a lot of heat for bucking expectations and being luscious and floral as opposed to edgy or dark. But I especially love the sweet smokiness of the incense in the dry-down. Would be interested to hear what you think of her other fragrance, Eau de Gaga. It was constructed as a unisex, very different from Fame, and even more distinctive and unusual, in my opinion. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work!!!
I got around to smelling this today! I actually like it quite a bit. It smells awesome on my skin. Definitely Apricot is what this smells like on me. I sprayed it on my wrist and it smells like a floral and it was not my thing at first. Half an hour to an hour later it turned to an apricot honey with a bit of zafron. Then form there, the honey covered apricot and incense is remained on my wrist! As of right now it smells really good, still apricot still honey and incense. I smell the Gardenia
It should also be mentionned that this perfume uses a "push-pull technology" which is not the usual top-middle-base notes system used in most perfumes. I think that's also what makes the uniqueness of the perfume, that's the reason you can't really smell distincly the Belladona, the honey, the saffron, the apricot, the tiger orchid notes... It mixes them all together rather than "layering" them like a normal perfume would.
Fantastic description! I have to agree with what you said about her conception of fame. Than you o much for your input, and thank you for watching my video. I hope all is well, and keep in touch. =)
It might have been KatiePuckrick who mentioned that Lady Gaga wanted to use the name "Freak" for her fragrance, she asked the permission of Illamasqua, and they declined to give it to her. Then, she proceeded to come up with a frag. containing belladonna as theirs does.Interesting right?! When I tried this fragrance, I first got a blast of concord grape, which I loved! It quickly seemed to fade on me though and pretty much died down into nothingness..I was so disappointed!
I was sent a bottle of Fame yesterday, and was kind of underwhelmed. I was expecting a darker, bolder fragrance more akin to Lady Gaga's character but all I got was a sort of faint creamy gardenia-orchid with a touch of fruitiness like you said. It is nice and pleasant, but nothing extraordinary or unique. It also died very quickly on my skin and became a skinscent very fast . The flacon is pretty cool looking, it's like a hybrid of Alien and Arpege. That cap could kill someone though :/
Yupp. That's how I got introduced to the scent. She was wearing it and I was lik OM GAWD WHAT IS THAT SCENT!!! And she said lady gaga game and I really stood there for five minutes smelling it. I think I'm going to get it for my mom.
Among the ones I own are: D & G The One SPORT, DIESEL Fuel for Life, ROCHAS Man, LACOSTE Pour Homme, Fleur du Mâle, and last but not least A&F Fierce. Very different scents yet they go well with my skin. I'm a sports guy and I am immature, but I have a side that likes to relax and watch a movie and spend time with someone. I want a scent for that, one that makes the person I am talking to wanna stay inside and snuggle up. I just want a scent that both guys and girls will like on me. Thanks man
Yeah, this cap is dangerous man! I checked to see how pointy it is and it could actually do some damage if you stab hard enough! It looks like it would carry a poison.
I would say is the struggles she has to face before and after she has become famous. In a sense like how she has to deal with the fame all around her and how she will overcome that!!!
Great review, very accurate on the scent profile. I've worn this at least 2 times since I got my sample. I think it is a super-sweet apricot musk snooze-fest. I was very underwhelmed. I thought Gaga would have wanted something deeper and darker for her debut scent.
+Tri Hao Han I would say so. Worn this one frequently for the past couple months, got lots of compliments, and no one has ever accused me of wearing a feminine fragrance ;)
Great review! I'm gonna buy it! Heard that it stays on for a very long time, so that's great! Thank you for the nice review! And p.s you r the cutest thing ever! ;)
I like how you score the perfume for versatility and from a male perspective. The gardenia accents may stir most senses to consider this perfume for a mature demo oppose to a younger crowd. I'm not a big fan of the scent because it is really nothing new to the senses that stands out to other perfume elites. It's the overall mechanics put together (although not the first of its kind) that make the product stand out. Can you do a review for Chanel platinum egoiste
This thing with black liquid that fades is not something new at all. There's already a perfume Boudicca Wode (Paint) released in 2008.Here's the part of main review from Fragrantica The Magic: When Wode is sprayed a vibrant cobalt blue mist appears and settles on the skin or clothing . Whether touched or not the "paint" begins to fade and within seconds or minutes disappears completely leaving simply the scent behind.
No sir, I did not. I think some of my friends are getting me this for Christmas and sending it to me. I will definitely tell you how I do with this frag and what comments I get! Thanks man
awesome review i love it but i have a question may use it if im male my question is did i smell more like girl i want to buy it but thats my fear if im gonna smell like girl or normal i realli wanted but thats mi fear i hope you can answer and again thanks for this awesome review
Hey bro, I wanna know if I can wear it! I am a pretty manly guy, but I like Gaga plus I am more of a calm guy. I like woods and musks and gourmands. What do you think?
It's not overly sweet, so there's nothing pervasive about it to my nose, and fortunately there are no metallic notes in it either! To my nose, it's dominant on the florals with a sweet undertone. It's a great overall favorite. Thanks for watching!
Also, all perfume turns clear on the skin. The juice in different scents come in many colors, can you imagine if it all stayed the same color and stained our skin? The fact that this is black (not quite) and doesn't stay black on the skin (who would want that) is not original.
The perfume bottle looks like alien to me. Lol! Reminds me of the movie "Predator", I don't know why but it's an interesting design very original design I should say, thank you for the review I will purchase Fame sometime in the future. :)
Freaky stuff! Black juice, & the cap is a weapon! It looks like something from the cupboard of the witches in Macbeth lol U can also sit the bottle in the cap if U place the cap on its head! Great review!
Sampled this today, based on yur review. very on-point! but I feel that the presentation & marketing doesn't match the actual juice @ all! What do U think? Also Beyoncé's frag (Pulse) has the exact same idea & execution of the cap - they can both act as a cover or a cradle.
I asked my friend what she wore! She said its called fame. I don't know if this is the one that she meant. But It is a very and sweet smell. Can you help??
+Lara Darwish It's more than likely this one! The only other fragrance named Fame is by a brand called Corday, and it's a very old fragrance that smells floral and animalic. Thank you for watching!
Thank you very much for the kind words. I try to remain impartial in my reviews, and if I dislike a fragrance, I make it known tactfully. Thanks for watching!
Being that it's as floral as it is, this is certainly more on the feminine side. I personally wouldn't wear this one in public, but if you like it, don't let anyone tell you no. Thanks for watching!
I have to admit that this one is a little bit on the feminine side, but that doesn't stop me from wearing it. It has a nice floral smell that you can certainly wear if you feel as though you have the personality to complement it. My girlfriend wears Fame all the time, and since I have started associating the smell with her, I tend to wear it less often. Nevertheless, it's a little bit on the unisex side but definitely geared more toward the female crowd. Thanks for watching! Keep in touch.
Oldie but goodie. This is one of my first purchases when I started collecting 7-8 years ago.
Oh nice!
This may sound stupid, but this was my lucky perfume when I did color guard back in high school. I’d spray some on my neck and wrists before every show.

It pretty dark at night, in the morning its really light but the sillage is just around body.
=)

+Dante Magica Thank you very much for watching! It's a nice scent indeed!
You hit the nail right on the head! Thanks for watching.
Great man! There's no shame in that! Haha. Amanda might like this one! You can consider it an early present for the holidays. Thanks for watching Dan. Also, have you received the samples yet?
Thanks for the kind words man. Keep in touch.
No, I don't think the bottle matches the juice either. I just checked out pulse, and I agree with you. Really nice bottle on that one too. I',m looking forward to your next review man!
Thank you so much for the kind words! This is a great fragrance with good longevity for sure. Hope all is well and keep in touch. =)

Being that it's sweet, I do get the Jolly Rancher thing now! Nice point! Like a floral flavored jolly rancher!
I like to think the black fluid represents the darker aspect she always injects into her music and videos. Everything she does always has a very macabre vibe to it and I really enjoy it since it's a step away from the typical bubblegum pop.
this fragrance was so fucking good 😭 it's such a shame it went out of the market and now it's almost impossible to find
Wow. Thank you very much. I'm glad that you enjoyed my insight. I appreciate you stopping by my channel. Please keep in touch!
im not into lady fragrances but enjoyed watching your take on this... you're progressing very good
Love your reviews, sir!
I love Eau De Gaga and I think it's better than Fame. He should totally do a review on that!
Ive seen a lot of reviews and this one is the best of all by far, very good review.
That's an excellent response! Thank you for your insight and for sharing it on my channel! Please keep in touch.
Excellent review, quick to the point.Love Fame
I LOVE secretions magnifique! It's overly hyped imo, to me it's a sharp floral with a bit of metallic tone
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for stopping by!
The best review I have ever seen, so helpful and objective (:
I think I'm going to get it for my mom.
great review man! I actually want to try this one now.
You wear perfumes? Just bought this today, got home a googled reviews. You were the first I came across. Very nice!!! Very thorough. I subbed.
ThnX bro, yur anticipation will be greatly rewarded. Trust!
Thank you very much. Keep in touch!
Best review of this so far
Yeah buddy! I can't wait to check this out! Love Gaga! shhh keep that between us, lol. Very informative :-)
hey, i am wondering. I am a Little Monster and i'm dying to get one bottle of this. But is this scent suitable for male? cause i've read it is unisex.
Ive been wondering the same thing. My parents hate me wearing girl perfumes
+Tri Hao Han I would say so. Worn this one frequently for the past couple months, got lots of compliments, and no one has ever accused me of wearing a feminine fragrance ;)
Thank you very much! Please keep in touch.
Great review! I'm gonna buy it! Heard that it stays on for a very long time, so that's great! Thank you for the nice review! And p.s you r the cutest thing ever! ;)
Do you still have this scent ? What does it smell like now ? What makes it black ?
Yes!
wow you really know your stuff. great review. subscribed
Let me ask, does this perfume smells like blood without the metalic, I mean SO sweet that it's pervasive or it doesn't smells like blood at all?
This thing with black liquid that fades is not something new at all. There's already a perfume Boudicca Wode (Paint) released in 2008.Here's the part of main review from Fragrantica
The Magic:
When Wode is sprayed a vibrant cobalt blue mist appears and settles on the skin or clothing . Whether touched or not the "paint" begins to fade and within seconds or minutes disappears completely leaving simply the scent behind.
You're on the right track!
No sir, I did not. I think some of my friends are getting me this for Christmas and sending it to me. I will definitely tell you how I do with this frag and what comments I get! Thanks man
is it suitable for guys to use this perfume ? how strong is the smell ? nice review btw ..
awesome review i love it but i have a question may use it if im male my question is did i smell more like girl i want to buy it but thats my fear if im gonna smell like girl or normal i realli wanted but thats mi fear i hope you can answer and again thanks for this awesome review
Great review!
excellent review... impressive!!! keep it up!
Hey bro, I wanna know if I can wear it! I am a pretty manly guy, but I like Gaga plus I am more of a calm guy. I like woods and musks and gourmands. What do you think?
Haha... that's pretty cool, and that's a nice gesture.
Awesome!
I love it, good review (:
Thank you! =)
It's an excellent scent for school! =)
Thanks for watching and for contributing! Keep in touch.
Thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching!
I like your review
Being that it's as floral as it is, this is certainly more on the feminine side. I personally wouldn't wear this one in public, but if you like it, don't let anyone tell you no. Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!
Wow! Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate you taking the time to watch my review. Keep in touch and I hope all is well.
Yup!
Keep in touch.
bella donna is also known as deadly nightshade :D
is it floral sweet or candy sweet?
Tri Hao Han it's more like fruity sweet to me.... I smell apricot and honey as dominant.... I love it
Yes! Thanks for watching!
it represent THE SOUL OF FAME :)
@NicoMinaj Thanks =)
Lol the part where you talked about the age... My friend is in 8th grade and she wears this to school everyday.
Its dark like the soul of fame
Haha, You know it!
