- I lived in the most remote village in Greenland for 7 days in a 1950s traditional Greenlandic home while helping my friend Jon close down his luxury Arctic adventure camp. This village is one of the most isolated towns in the entire world and needs to be added to your top travel destinations list!!!

Could you live in Greenland?!
Does living in Greenland cause comfort addiction because how peaceful it is? When you grow older do you thinks you will live in cities or places like this?
Nope
Nooooooo... and dumping plastic bags filled with poo into the ocean? sounds environmentally friendly to me
I don’t think I could handle the cold weather and smelly toilets 😂.
No way 🫣☺️
Harsh life, in a harsh environment, but surrounded by helpful and caring people, is, indeed, spiritually strengthening experience.
Glad to see him getting back into travel vids. Real Estate is cool, next Million Dollar Listing dude blah-blah…yea i get it! But dudes travel content has been epic over the years!
Exactly, 100%!
Mansion Tours Videos Are Also Great
Finally, dude. Please keep making more content like this - I follow you for your adventurous spirit and the drive to explore and and better yourself. Don't become a magazine cover. Don't be afraid to talk about what sucks, and what's really happening. This felt old-school in the best way.
Oh my God, the scenery there is so beautiful and magnificent!
Swimming in the ice sea, you are so brave, you look very handsome in that scene!
I really don't understand why they choose to live there and make their lives harder!
This episode saw you transition from a real estate manager to a tourist, which is so special!
Love your changes, you did a really great job, thanks a lot for sharing! 👍😍👏
The universe chooses where most of us begin in life. In certain remote areas of this world where traditions are so engrained, leaving becomes less and less of an option
@@erikvanconover Dear Erik, thanks a lot for telling me that, you are very nice! 👍😍🙏
There are so many places I would love to visit in the world, this just got added to the top of my list.
Why has this only got 40k views? It's absolutely beautiful and fascinating. If i could afford it i would be there immediately. Its been my dream to visit Greenland since i was a kid
“I have been sleeping pretty well. But I’m not gonna lie waking up I feel like I got hit by a train.” 😂😂😂
Great video Erik 👊🏾🙌🏾💪🏾
Thank you Dylan
What an incredible opportunity. Thanks for sharing. I would never have known about this place, the dogs, the housing and what it means to live in a place like this. It has so much uniqueness both beautiful and challenging. Honestly soo much more interesting than a building with 50+ floors. I appreciate the 'behind the scenes' and that you pushed your levels of comfort.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow, Greenland is gorgeous. These adventurous videos are awesome Erik! I was supper stoked to see you upload this one. I'm looking forward to more of this series as you share with us the diverse living elements the world has to offer!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, I missed you and the travel vlogs. Such wholesome content, enjoying the mix of everything again
I’ve been living in Greenland for 8 months now and I’ve lived all my life in a tropical country. I was anxious that I would find it difficult to adjust to a harsh Arctic climate but I was surprised. My body adapted quickly and was well received by the warmth of the people here. You just need to listen to them when they talk in their language. Hope you had an amazing time in Saqqaq and Greenland and please visit again in the future! 🙌
Out of this world beautiful! Can’t wait to visit next year for a half marathon 🇬🇱 🏃♀️ ❄️
Been waiting months for this vid to drop 👏
Two more on the way !!!
I grew up in Greenland, and I was born on the Disko island (Qullissat, the abandoned coalmine city) 🙂
Top notch travel vlog, I'm making this my new "goals" video. You really get a sense of the local culture and lifestyle beyond what you'd expect as a tourist.
Finally!! I was waiting for this video since last year, I love your travel videos
What ever happened to the next episodes of Greenland? We were looking forward to it. 😊
What a great video, Erik! Absolutely inspiring.
Absolutely love the crisp video quality and captivating content! Reminds me why I subscribed years ago. Keep up the amazing work!
Awesome, thank you!
I also live in a small village, not in Greenland though. I also love the peace and quite 2:17 in the video. Most of the time I wake up to complete silence, when in winter, it gets quite cold. There is complete silence for multiple hours, sometimes even multiple days no birds, nothing. My village has ~25 people living. The village size is roughly in a 1km radius (obviously not a perfect circle). The thing is other villages are close by (~2-3km's away) and are a lot bigger, where as here this is the last point of civilization, beyond, the conditions are too harsh. Incredible experience and video. Awesome job. ;)
WOW GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND
Woah that's so cool!! Where is it, if I may ask?
@@devrao3537 Northern Europe, one of the Baltic Countries. ;)
@@Tealius-W DAMN nice!
Finally, a home I can afford. Thanks
Beautiful video! Thank you Erik!
Lowkey my favorite video you've done! I love the real estate tours too, but this was really cool to see.
Thank you!
13:20 Man just referred to something from the early 2000's as classic. I feel old now.
Phenomenal video! I miss this kind of content from you. Glad it was a good trip.
Hey Erik, great video, thank you!
What a great video Erik, much love from the UK
cool video seems like a very strange and barren place to live . nice to see your surviving it take care Erik
I wish live in Greenland make peaceful and freedom. WOW beautiful sky and nice sea, 😊
I'm one of your OG followers, think I was one of your first 500 subbies ❤
Im loving your current content but do you plan on ever vlogging again? Your vlogs teamed with the old school jazz 🎷 you use to request from composers was immaculate! I miss your older content so much and more sad they're no longer on your channel.
Hi! Just wanted to say hello to a fellow OG... I started watching Erik when he'd only been doing it for about 6 months, I guess? Think he had ~5000 subs when I got in. I was a huge fan of his personal story telling in those early days, I remember thinking: phooph!, this guy is so gifted, and talented, and insightful- he'll go far in life! It's cool that after so many years, he's still a part of this platform, sharing different things, so we're able to keep up with him in some form. I personally vibed way more with his more intimate storytelling than the luxury real estate stuff, but it's always great every once in a while he'll give us something like this! I also feel like the older, original viewership is a kind of family. We share the same love of and camaraderie from those early videos. Take care, nice to see you here.
"Waking up and seeing 200ft tall icebergs outside your window" man that is spectacular. And totally, humans are crazy adaptable. I find it so interesting.
I know, right?
What an experience for you guys! I'm jealous as hell!
Its a shame this video doesn’t have more views. This was such an interesting video to watch. I would love to see more content like this over luxury apartments and homes. Thanks for sharing Erik!
it will in 3-9 months. SEO is locked in
Great video! It's a nice change of pace from your normal content.
More to come!
stunning video! love the remote adventures
Very interesting video , one of your best videos ever , 👍👍👍
This is a dream come true really.
Wow, Erik. Great. Pure nature - sometimes - but not for me longtime to be there
I really enjoyed this kind of video. Please do more
Best kind of videos!
I think this one is my favourite to watch so far.
This is the Erik Conover content I live for ❤
SAME. Making it a point to get back to creating the things that make me feel alive. Doing that off broadway play. Remote travel.
@@erikvanconover FINALLY!
thats amazing, ive lived in the canadian arctic for work and it was similar. Thanks for taking us with you erik!
Glad you enjoyed it!
this is super cool! thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for watching!
Incredible!
These kinda videos are the best 🫡
Nice , as usual 👍
looks amazing
I prefer these videos over luxury real estate. Good stuff.
This deserves more views
amazing experience
Yes it was!
여기도 사람들이 많이 떠났네요
이런 숙소가 있는거 보면요 에전에 사람들이 살았던 영상 봤었는데요
I missed you doing this content.
Great video Erik! Looks like such a unique place to visit. I thought the gated houses were to deter polar bears... Were there any polars bears in the area you visited?
BTW why the F are TH-cam not promoting this video more??
C'mon YT!
amazing view
Thanks for the upload interesting video
Glad you enjoyed it
Damn that was filmed all the way back in September and finally seeing daylight now... Should've put it out sooner it's dope af!
The beauty of someone watching this one or ten years from now is it won’t matter when it was filmed
Love you.
I am love from Bangladesh.🇧🇩
Travel videos are back wohoo
Underrated video 💯
There is a US Air Force base in Greenland much further north. My father went there a lot in the 70s and 80s for work, ate whale blubber with the locals, almost died when he got caught out in a storm with a friend, pretty place but very inhospitable.
Amezing life in Greenland
Regarding the toilet smell there are solutions to that. You can buy some liquids that you pour into the toilet that remove most if not all of the smell. So you don't have to smell shit everytime you go to the toilet
I love the fact Ribena made it to Greenland at 13:12 😂
This was a very interesting video. Amazing to see the places where people eke out a civilization.
My first guess was that the black bags were poop. No running water means no sewerage, and the ground is probably too frozen to dig waste-disposal for every house.
They're gonna love Starlink
Do you take a picture of iceburg as a portrait in your house? It's nice if you do coz it's a picture with beautiful memories as time goes by
I might have unsubscribed from your channel because you started posting JUST REAL ESTATE. Now, My man, this is who you were before. I love every bit of it. Keep this one coming.
From Manhattan to there. When you decide to take a break from the big city...
Your best video!
Glad you think so!
Awesome job erik drop a like
I appreciate it
No problem erik
I didn't expect to see this video on this channel ❤
Well, the only thing that bothers me is wild dogs😂
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
only 20 tourists in the last year? well now it's going to be 200 because of this video.
Nope, the price of travel and remoteness will ensure that this place will never become a tourist boom.
Talk about those puppies man they are man real friend in that kind of place
until they are about 10 months old and they want to tear you up
@@erikvanconoverthat’s our puppies most of them are nicer than u think😁😄👍
Fascinating!! But I’d last 24 hours without going crazy.
read a book
Let's have a corner moment!
13:15 this girl going to school will later tell her kids how hard the way to her school was like "I went over icebergs" xD
Please, can someone post the link to the tour video? It is on another channel? Thank you!
Where do we find this “30-min tour of the town” video you are mentioning?
It’s currently being edited by yours truly
Nice choice of music, very soothing.
Thank you
Electricity implies diesel generator. Is it far enough away that there is no exhaust smell and no noise?
Did you know they found archaeological evidence that for a period of time in the distant past that a community of people lived at the very most tip of Greenland. I have absolutely no idea how it was possible but its so amazing to me.
Can you tour Pinckney hill in Monticello fl
Where’s the town tour?
Glad you did this, but you have a better chance of getting me to buy one of your deluxe apartments than getting me there.
when you watch the full luxury camping experience in next video you might have a change of heart
14:05 I think the most recent connection Greenland had with the United States was that a certain former president wanted to buy it from Denmark.
Where is the video to the town tour you mentioned. I don't see it in your list of videos.
still in the edit bay
@@erikvanconover ok great looking forward to it!
Link for the town tour video?
ACFD 😍
iykyk
Where is the town tour vid?
Dude picks up a hammer, "spiritually enriching"
Silence. Doing a monotonous task. Beautiful scenery. Stillness opens the mind.
So sad what happened to this child 😢💔😭
Divorce
Yeah I teared up when they said what happened 😔
Can you please include metric units in future videos, after all Greenland (and the rest of the world) use metric units. Please don't exclude everyone who isn't American.
There are two types of countries
1)Those that use the metric system
2)The one that walked on the moon
This is a reality check of how privilege people are in America! Don't take life for granted and appreciate the little things.💯
Yes in the full town tour I ask Mitti about what she thinks regarding USA and it was very much a non answer, no one really thinks of USA there.
@@erikvanconover That's when you know, they're content with life. Not caring for a country with power and wealth. 💯
I can only imagine how shocking it must have been to your senses going from New York City to Greenland…
In a positive way of course…
Guys i live here there’s an internet but not fast but good enough😃👍
Where is the city tour
What’s the name of the village ???
ITS MORE INTERESTING THAN LUXURY OFFICE APARTS
any day its more interesting !
