Various shots of the artillery in action, some heavy, at the start of the battle for Stalingrad. Tanks advance and open fire on the plains. C/U of a Russian officer in an encampment, giving orders by telephone. Infantry and light artillery advance. A Russian sniper in action kills two German soldiers. Brief shots of German prisoners marching along a road.
At dusk the German retreat villages are left ablaze as the Russians move through.

По воспоминаниям моей прабабушки, когда ей было лет 18, во время немецкой оккупации на Дону, где-то под Таганрогом, в их доме жили два солдата: немец Ганс и австриец, Пауль. Так вот, прабабушка выглядела значительно моложе своих лет, и её считали ребёнком, как и её братьев и сестёр. И Ганс, когда доставал шоколадку, то дразнил ей детей, и не давал ни кусочка, а Пауль большую часть шоколада отдавал детям. Ну это так, воспоминания семейные...)
