Sony X95L Mini LED Review - The Best LED of 2023?

  • The Sony X95L is Sony's flagship 4k TV in 2023. It replaces the Sony X95K from 2022 and sits above the Sony X93L in the U.S. Strangely, it's only available in an 85" size in North America, but there are 65" and 75" models in other regions. It offers impressive features, including hands-free voice control, the S-Center speaker input, and an ATSC 3.0 tuner for up to 4k broadcast support. It's powered by Sony's Cognitive Processor XR, which is designed to improve overall image processing and upscaling. It has HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and variable refresh rate (VRR) support for gamers, so you can take full advantage of the latest consoles. Like past Sony TVs, it's powered by the Google TV smart platform, which is user-friendly and has a ton of apps available to download.

    We caught a small mistake at 7:50. We say that you shouldn't get this TV if you have a Radeon GPU due to the TV's lack of Freesync, but you should note that recent AMD Radeon cards, namely the Radeon RX 6000 and RX 7000 series, do support HDMI Forum VRR, so this statement only applies to Radeon RX 5000 series cards and earlier! Sorry about that small mistake, thank you for watching! 😊

    I’ve had this TV for about 3 weeks, it was pricey yes but the picture quality is amazing. The brightness is so good that depending on the scene it made my eye squint cause of how bright it is.
    But in order to take advantage of the streaming or Bravia core streaming, I highly recommend buying a usb 3.0 to Ethernet adapter. As the built in wifi is slow and built in Ethernet port.

    I'd have bought this TV if it was available even in 65 size but it is only available only in 85 inch size here. I wanted this tv for my bedroom because a lot of sunlight enters that room and my wife watches a lot of cable which is why OLED wasn't an option.
    Sony makes really weird decisions like their pricing for A95L OLED. If A95L was only $300-400 more expensive than Samsung S95C or LG G3 then they would have owned that market segment.

      @trendyprojectors4743 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the Sony X95L TV in HDR will flash when subtitles are on. This is because the TV is using a technique called "dynamic tone mapping" to improve the contrast of the picture in HDR mode. When subtitles are on, they can appear very bright against the dark background of the scene, which can cause the TV to flash.
      There are a few things you can do to reduce the flashing. First, you can try turning off the dynamic tone mapping. This will make the picture look a little less bright, but it should also reduce the flashing. You can also try using a different subtitle font or size. Some fonts are more likely to flash than others.

      No, the Sony X95L does not support 4096x2160 @ 120 Hz. The maximum resolution and refresh rate it supports is 3840x2160 @ 120 Hz.
      The Sony X95L is a 4K TV, which means it has a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels. It can also display content at a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, which means that the image can be updated 120 times per second. This is a very high refresh rate, and it can make the image appear smoother and more fluid, especially when watching fast-paced action scenes.

Perhaps if Samsung would publish average hours of use their panels have been tested before major failure/panel degradation for OLEDs consumers could see what makes since for what kind of content you intend to watch and base decision but like most companies unwillingness to publish its usually because they still have to many manufacturing differences in samples that they cant determine a fair expectation of life cycles.

      If you need a TV with a Gigabit or multi-gigabit Ethernet port, you will need to consider a different model. The Sony X95L is a good option, as it has a Gigabit Ethernet port.

      Yes, that is correct. HDR Auto tonemapping is a feature that is exclusive to the PS5. It is not available on any other console, including the Xbox Series X/S. HDR Auto tonemapping is a feature that automatically adjusts the HDR settings of a game to match the capabilities of your TV. This can help to improve the picture quality of HDR games, especially on TVs that do not have the same HDR capabilities as high-end models.
      Some people have criticized HDR Auto tonemapping for not being available on other consoles, but Sony has defended the decision, saying that the feature is still in development and that they want to make sure it works as well as possible before releasing it to other platforms.

      The Sony X95L, LG U8K, and Samsung QN90C are all excellent TVs, and the best choice for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences.
      The Sony X95L is known for its excellent picture quality, thanks to its Cognitive Processor X1 Ultimate. It also has a very wide viewing angle, so it looks great even if you're not sitting directly in front of it. However, it is the most expensive of the three TVs.
      The LG U8K is a good all-around TV that offers good picture quality and a wide range of features. It also has a very thin design, which makes it a good choice for wall-mounting. However, it does not have as good picture quality as the Sony X95L.
      The Samsung QN90C is the best choice for gamers, thanks to its low input lag and support for VRR. It also has a very bright picture, which makes it a good choice for watching HDR content. However, it does not have as good viewing angles as the LG U8K.

If you prioritize durability and ease of use, the Sony X95L is a great alternative. Compare the X95L to the Hisense U8K, for example, and it is a mixed usage of 8.6 vs 8.5 respectively. There are about 3 main areas where the Sony truly surpasses, but otherwise they are very similarly scored. • @trendyprojectors4743

      Market demand. One possibility is that Sony does not believe there is enough market demand for 65 and 75 inch models of the A95L in North America. Consumers may be more interested in smaller OLED TVs, or they may not be willing to pay the premium price for a larger model.
      Production costs. Another possibility is that it is too expensive for Sony to produce 65 and 75 inch models of the A95L in North America. The larger panels may require more expensive materials and manufacturing processes.
      Competition. Finally, it is also possible that Sony is simply not competitive in the North American market for 65 and 75 inch OLED TVs. Other companies, such as LG and Samsung, offer a wider range of OLED TVs in these sizes, and they may be able to undercut Sony on price.

    • @trendyprojectors4743
      @trendyprojectors4743 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both the Z9k and the X95L are top-of-the-line TVs from Sony, but there are some key differences between the two models.
      The Z9k is Sony's flagship 8K TV, while the X95L is their flagship 4K TV. The 8K resolution of the Z9k provides sharper and more detailed images than the 4K resolution of the X95L. However, 8K content is still relatively rare, so you may not need the extra resolution unless you have a large TV or you plan to watch a lot of 8K content in the future.
      Another key difference between the two models is the type of panel they use. The Z9k uses a Mini LED panel, while the X95L uses a regular LED panel. Mini LED panels have smaller LEDs than regular LED panels, which allows for more precise control of the backlight. This can result in better contrast and more accurate colors.

Just like 40-50% global luxury BRAND LV GUICCI CHANEL etc are sold in China, d 80-90% international goods revenue of MBA came from China, pretty much d big 3 is NOT big 3 in rest of world. Not ideal for PC gamers? Well that would entirely depend on what resolution you play on. I play at 4K with a 4090. 1440p will never grace my play time. Only in DLSS quality but that is still output into 4K.
    Also otherwise most if not almost all games today have a resolution slider. So if not DLSS or FSR you can lower the in game resolution rendering to 66% which = 1440p render and out put it again at 4K.
    It has VRR, and excellent look in PC gaming because unlike most TVs Sony still allow almost all processing except some part. Local dimming is just as effective in Game mode as in outside of it.
    Can't get that on a Samsung.
    So Rtings. You don't know what you're saying at times. Don't make a blanket "con" like that. But say for "SOME PC gamers".

    Terrible TV for gaming, at least if you want to connect an nVidia RTX 3000/4000 series graphics card. Black screens all over the place. The TV is advertised with G-Sync support but it doesn't work and it didn't work with the previous model as well. Sony does not care and neither did any of the reviewers.
    So: Do not buy if you want to play games on your PC and own a nVidia graphics card with VRR/G-Sync support.
