Cant tell it these days but Mr Paul Stanley used to have one of the best voices in Rock. Gene is such a underrated bassist, has inspired a ton of aspiring young musician's to pick up the instrument. Bruce has always been my favorite post Ace guitarist.
Bruce had a lot more modern flair than Ace ever really did back when he took over the lead in the 80's. Shame that Vinnie Vincent ended up being a "less than stellar" guy tho cause he too was really good.
I think his absolute best was during the Crazy Nights era and that, as phenomenal of a performance as this is, it’s the very, very beginning of his decline. But that shows how awesome he was at his very best and all the way until about 2009 when he was obviously declining. But that does NOT take anything away from his performance here, which is nothing short of outstanding.
Paul Stanley wrote this song about actress Donna Dixon, who was his girlfriend at the time. Donna was in a movie where she starred alongside Dan Aykroyd, and she pulled a fast move on Paul by starting a relationship with Dan. Paul only found out when the tabloid papers announced the fact that Donna and Dan would get married. So yeah, that grief he pours into this song is VERY real.
This is such a great Blues type song. It has so much soul. Paul Stanley wrote most of the music for the band. But man was he ever a great vocalist. He was hands down one of the best, in his prime. Totally underrated.
This shows Paul at his best. He was, and is, one of the best rock vocalists of all time. While his vocals have declined in the past few years due to constant years of touring, he's still one of the best ever. I just love this song and this version of it
@chrisoakley5830 I totally agree 💯%. If you remember Paul Stanley once said, in an interview, that a crappy song on an acoustic guitar is still a crappy song. There are none in this performance. Most of them are better. I love this arrangement but I wonder why they didn't do Forever? All they would of had to do was slow it down a little 😮. Big omission if you ask me.
That bass line was written and originally performed by former drummer Eric Carr (he passed-away a few years before this performance), who actually had a lot to do with the songs on which he played much more so than simply being the drummer on them. He was an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, one of the best performers. He was one of the first drummers also to use electronic sample pads, and innovated a solo in 1985 during the live shows where he would play an entire song all by himself. He continued this through his death in 1991. It was pretty common-place during his time in the band to have made immense contributions and never really given proper credit with regard to writing, and he was only once allowed to sing one of his own songs, the others being co-opted by Gene or Paul. There's been a lot of regret in more recent years from the guys, especially Paul, in how they treated him. He was such a tremendous talent, and arguably beloved by fans more than the original drummer whom he replaced.
Best arrangement of this song and perhaps the finest vocal performance by Paul Stanley. He really loves the song and kept it in the KISS catalog much longer than it needed to be. The acoustic guitar solo by Bruce Kulick is terrific also. He really did his homework learning a song, that at the time of this performance, was 14 years old
I was a HUGE KISS fan and always wanted to be Paul Stanley. Did you know that he was born with only one ear? It is true. He said so himself. Can you imagine never ever hearing stereo? Half deaf in my opinion having only one ear. He is the rock star of all rock stars. It blows my mind that he could do what he does and do it with only one ear. That is so amazing and so unfair. The universe has a strange sense of humor. It just goes to show that handicaps mean nothing to the ones who want it bad and go for it.
To think ppl rubbished this band saying they had no talent and was all just flash pots and makeup. Those ppl missed out on enjoying one of the greatest bands of all time.
Gene is one of the most under-rated bass players out there. Album after album of stylish and tasteful basslines, and always a killer tone. I've never really seen his bass not on point in any regard. I usually don't notice bass for some reason, but I've always noticed Gene's.
I was so happy when KISS put their make up back on with the original members - I finally got a chance to see them in tack original and face paint, HOWEVER I did miss Bruce Kulick on guitar. My favorite KISS line up was Paul, Gene, Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick. Bruce never wore the face paint though. Love Eric Carr's Fox.
Diehard KISS fan since 1976. Many great songs. But, "I Still Love You" (studio cut, on Creatures) will always be my favorite. Because, simply, I can relate. Forty years later, and I still love "her"... even though she is married to someone else.
👍You guys should really check out the original 1982 studio version of “I Still Love You” (from KISS’ Creatures Of The Night album). It’s an amazing song with powerful vocals, heart wrenching lyrics, beautiful (electric) guitars, soulful bass and the most awesome drum sound ever recorded. I can’t praise this song enough.
Paul Stanley is one of the all-time great rock vocalists...but unfortunately he gets overlooked way too often because of all of the theatrics surrounding KISS.
Not many vocalists could go toe to toe with Paul in 95. He could sing with the greats no doubt. People think of KISS as flash and gimmicks (which is part of it no doubt) but this is irrefutable proof of the incredible talent involved.
Fun fact. Bruce Kulick was the guitar tech for Kiss in the 70’s. He supposedly even payed on some Kiss albums when ace wouldn’t show up. He took over in the 80’s
Who could ever do a better than kiss without electrons without electricity just simple guitar and get the water cross can't no one do it like they can just simple guitar and vocal
The drummer here is Eric Singer, who filled in for Eric Carr while he was fighting cancer. When Eric Carr sadly passed, same day as Freddie Mercury but never got the proper coverage, Eric Singer took the reins of the drum kit and played for Kiss till the Reunion Tour. Then, Eric came back in the mid-2000s and has been playing with Kiss ever since.
I love his vocals on Alive III to this song. Alive III is the album I was raised on since I'm a 90s baby but 80s-now Kiss is what I know. And I am biased to their live performances over the studio recordings.
Ps... speaking of King Diamond, and I'm referencing my previous comment here you guys are planning on covering his song Halloween in the next few days right? I mean the live version of it from the DVD he put out a few years back is amazeballs
Paul Stanley was one of the top 5-10 rock vocalists ever, by any measure. The Crazy Nights album is proof of this. But now he has totally lost it. Time to hang it up.
It is such a bummer to hear where Paul Stanley's voice is these days, and how they refuse to acknowledge that they are supplementing so much of his vocal inabilities with backing tracks and whatnot.. I wish they would just be forthright about it. Many artists have to do that, and if they were just being transparent I think it would be a lot less duplicitous. However, back to the vid here, the band is just an amazing form. Doesn't hurt that this is one of the best songs from the creatures of the night album, which is saying something... considering all the songs that album are very strong. It's the metal album they should have made instead of music from the Elder at that time, I think they would have spared themselves several years of quandary and wondering what the heck they were going to do is the '80s began to take form. That being said, and please allow me to Veer off topic yet again.. the music from the Elder album is one of my favorite Kiss records, because they took such remarkable Chances with it and it is so unlike all their other work.. but, creatures of the night was the album that probably should have happened in terms of what they needed to deliver to their hardcore audience in those years. Anyway, Paul Stanley is on fire here, showing just what his voice was capable of all those years ago. I don't begrudge the man where he's at these days, he's 70 or something like that right? Nobody's voice holds out forever except for Rob halford, and King diamond.
So sad that one of the last great Paul's preferences because honestly constant touring and the quest for money robed us of one of the best vocalist I have ever heard love you Paul but you stayed to long

Agreed! Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick were the best in their roles with Kiss.
He was as good as it gets
Eric Carr played bass on the studio version.
@mikerobertson2402 I agree
When people say KISS are a bunch of no talent hacks, this is the one to show them. 💋
I think Kiss unplugged is the best thing they have ever done!
for me, this is Paul at his very best.
I think his absolute best was during the Crazy Nights era and that, as phenomenal of a performance as this is, it’s the very, very beginning of his decline. But that shows how awesome he was at his very best and all the way until about 2009 when he was obviously declining. But that does NOT take anything away from his performance here, which is nothing short of outstanding.
seriously one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time, and born deaf in one ear, so underappreciated. great songwriter and rhythm guitarist.
Incredible song....people don't realize how good they were.
Kiss the Best Band of all time 😎
Drums are so ongoingly cool in this
One of the most moving performances ever...thanks Paul..
Best vocalist and front man of all time
Paul Stanley wrote this song about actress Donna Dixon, who was his girlfriend at the time. KISS plays the blues. One of their best songs.
Paul Stanley is just amazing!!!!!!!!!!
This shows Paul at his best. He was, and is, one of the best rock vocalists of all time. While his vocals have declined in the past few years due to constant years of touring, he's still one of the best ever.
I just love this song and this version of it
All the unplugged performance is a Real masterpiece
When Pual was in his prime he was one of the best rock vocalists ever. I met him twice. Long stories. Some of the vocals on his solo album...great.
This vocal sends chills up and down your whole body. Paul Stanley is the best rock vocalist of my era. He has the pipes to sing anything.
If you guys get the chance you should check out the entire Kiss unplugged show. This was just a small taste of how great it is.
You can hear this song on the album creatures of the night and also a live version on Kiss Alive III
Kiss are more than just great entertainers. They're great musicians too.
La voce di paul è incredibile. Kiss per sempre nel cuore ❤️
Verdade a voz do Paul Stanley é maravilhosa ❤
Gives me goosebumps every time. One of the top rock vocalists of all time!!!Bruce Kulick was the best guitarist ever and kiss.
In his prime, NO SINGER had better vibrato than Paul Stanley.
Dude...he's voice very powerful.belting like no tomorrow.
Paul stanley rules
Paul Stanley is a rock GOD 🔥🙏🔥
Omg absolutely the best
Bass vibrating your soul was perfect way to describe it

I loved your comment up until the point where you had to go there with your pointless Peter Criss comparison.
RIP Eric carr

Paul is on fire here, and is an amazing singer. Plus you can tell he and the rest of the guys had a really good night that night.
To think ppl rubbished this band saying they had no talent and was all just flash pots and makeup. Those ppl missed out on enjoying one of the greatest bands of all time.

He is one of the most skilled performers on my list. Love him.
Enjoy your reactions. Thanks
Paul Stanley was 43 year old when this was recorded.
This is the best they ever did! This when Donna Dixon left him .
THIS WHOLE SHOW WAS FIRE AND PETER CRISS WAS BACK AND ACE FREELY TO THIS NIGHT !!.
Frehley
It went next level when Ace & Peter joined on stage
This was back WHEN Paul was at his absolute PEAK of vocal ability! HARD to top! \m/
Diehard KISS fan since 1976.
Many great songs.
But, "I Still Love You" (studio cut, on Creatures) will always be my favorite. Because, simply, I can relate.
Forty years later, and I still love "her"... even though she is married to someone else.
Creatures of the Night probably their best álbum and this song one of their best rock ballads
I can‘t see this video with tears in my eyes, so emotional … great reaction to one of the best Love Songs ever
The Best Kiss line up with Eric Singer no drums & Bruce Kulick lead guitar!!!
That baseline is hypnotic
👍You guys should really check out the original 1982 studio version of “I Still Love You” (from KISS’ Creatures Of The Night album).
It’s an amazing song with powerful vocals, heart wrenching lyrics, beautiful (electric) guitars, soulful bass and the most awesome drum sound ever recorded.
I can’t praise this song enough.
Yes, this version is certainly great but my favorite has always been the original off of Creatures.
Fun fact: Eric Carr played drums and bass on the studio version.
This song is fantastic ! Paul is an incredible song writter and singer 🤘
Loved it, got to see them 2 weeks ago in Melbourne, still rocking!
From MTV unplugged on October 31st 1995 the day I introduced my then 9 year old son to KISS 🤘 He's 36 now and still a huge fan ✌️
Paul Stanley in his prime was untouchable.
Paul Stanley is one of the all-time great rock vocalists...but unfortunately he gets overlooked way too often because of all of the theatrics surrounding KISS.

Going Blind acoustic
❤ kiss
The studio version I enjoy more. You got to give it a listen.
Bruce replicated Robben Ford's solo perfectly here too!
He's been one of my fav vox like them better with there make up off good song what a voice
You gotta watch Creatures of the Night from Alive III (Revenge Tour) and Love Gun 2000 that took place in New Jersey.

Please react to more kiss love every time yous do 🔥
That guitar solo sounds so much better on a Martin 6 string or a Gibson 12 string. Bruce Kulich is one of the most underrated guitarists ever.
Kiss is in Australia touring at the moment.
Paul Stanley wrote this about Donna Dixon leaving him & she ended up with Dan Ackroyd of Blues Brothers fame & are still married
Actually this isn't the song her wrote about Donna. A Million to One on Lick It Up is the song her wrote about her.
What about Bruce on guitar? He's so good. This whole album is incredible
Paul Stanley has lost most of his voice now but he has that awesome back in the day.
Nunca percebi o porquê considerarem KISS uma grande banda, poucos sucessos tiveram
Paul Stanley is The BEST lmL
There is an electric version of this song. But this version is the best
I’ve always preferred the studio version there’s something haunting about it. This version is great though
Agree. 40 years now. Eric Carr also in there
@@crog9138 The album version is my favorite also.
Ps... speaking of King Diamond, and I'm referencing my previous comment here you guys are planning on covering his song Halloween in the next few days right? I mean the live version of it from the DVD he put out a few years back is amazeballs

You guys should react to Beth from this same show.

Please reaction on Indian movie trailer RRR
So sad that one of the last great Paul's preferences because honestly constant touring and the quest for money robed us of one of the best vocalist I have ever heard love you Paul but you stayed to long
Bruce Kulick Is overrated guitar player.
Like hell he is. He is actually a very underrated player.
