I just took out my 16ft Oru Kayak Coast XT and tested it with a friend's Pakayak. I was amazed. I tried the pakayak first, and although absoultey more tippy, it did really well! Got it up to 6mph with a good sprint speed that didn't burn me out too bad...cruising at over 5mph at a good "light jog" pace. I was very impressed. My Oru, while it feels more stable I have to paddle my freaking heart out to get it to 6mph. I broke that and got it up to 6.3 but it gassed me doing so. I was kinda shocked. It's a longer kayak! The oru gets up to speed fairly fast as well, but pushing it up to 6mph felt like a lot more effort.
@@bryan81584 Great to hear from you about this test as I haven't paddled an Oru kayak. Sounds like you could be in the market for a PakAyaK ??? They always have great sales on in January, just a thought.
You have to be there the day they're born, then make sure you're the first thing they see, then take them home and let them sleep in the same bed as you to gain their trust. Then one year later you teach them how to sit inside a big box, then each month after that you make the box a little bit smaller and after two years they can fold their bodies up so small that they can pack into the yak pack bag. 🤣🤣😂😂
So comfortable infront of the camera George.
Hope you get better soon mate👍
Every kayak has its quirks but the Pakayak appears to be good at almost everything
It's definitely got it's faults but once you get use to the feel and know not to go crazy on the edging it's pretty dam good. Cheers David 👍

After all this time, I still haven't understood how you manage to pack a yak and bring it along while paddling. It's a huge animal after all. 🐂

@THE-RIVER-RAT 😂 Ok, now I see how it's done. Seems to require some patience, but pays off in the end!
